Advert That Renders Part Of The Site Unusable
So yesterday I opened the homepgae on MP only to be greeted by a pop-up advert for Portsmouth. Once this went away to the square size that is normal I was unable to scroll down the page, and could only click on things already there. I know ads aren't usualy a problem, but this one in particualr is a real pain, so I thought I ought to bring it up. Since revisting the homepage, somethimes other ads are there and its fine, but whenever that ad is there I can't scroll. Are any other English moccers seeing this?

That's happened to me a few times too. I'm from the US.

this used to be common on deviantart too, huge ads that covered half the page. try refreshing the screen or reloading the page so it brings up a different ad.

Pop-ups and layer-based ads are not allowed, but I suppose they snuck in somehow. (I saw one for "how to train your dragon" yesterday too.) I'll be speaking with the ad network to make sure they stay off the site.

I've encountered that same Portsmouth advert breaking the Home page, as well as various builders' pages.

I use Safari Adblocker, which is a free program that blocks all ads. Works like a charm :)

The Mods have NO control over the ads shown on site. Just download an ad blocker from your add-ons in the tool bar at the top of your browser and I'm sure you won't have that problem anymore.

For the 10,000th time, the mods and admins have NO CONTROL over the ads. Google chooses them, and they're based on YOUR browsing habits, so stop complaining.

If you browse MOCpages with an ad blocker, WE DO NOT GET PAID, and you therefore effectively stealing money from MOCpages by doing this. If everyone ran ad blockers, MOCpages would shut down.
