I think we need better moderators...

I think we need new moderators, sorry if I had the bother to start a new topic, but I think its important, because the current ones chosen are a poor choice.

I think Ape Fight and Chris Roach should have an upgrade to moderator, what do you think.

If this topic is unnecessary, lock it admins. ;)

Definitely agreeing with this. Both of the mods are inactive (plus they are Clone Kiddies!) Nothing against them, they just need to be replaced since they are inactive.

Let me say that since Mark and Chris have everything under control, there is no need for group mods to do anything. Think of it this way, they can't lock topics, they have no control over what a MOCPages user does, and they can't make the big decisions like the actual mods of the site. Moderators would only be used to delete off topic conversations.

I totally agree. The admins shouldn't have to deal with all the cr*p that gets put in this group.

Yeah, Chris is a great choice! Including Ape.

Sigh. You are aware the moderators aren't paid to do the job right? To say that they are "poor choices" is to be quite frank unjustified. So a couple of questions haven't been answered, how could they when pre-teen drama queens clog up the group with their ridiculous squabbles.

When a genuine question has been asked, they do deal with it.

That said, I agree we need MORE moderators, but the way this thread has been worded it sounds like you want the existing ones replaced?! and that is just not called for.

I don't believe he means the moderators of the site, just the moderators of MOCPages Help. Halo Freak and Commander Hess. And I haven't once seen either of them do anything in this group (at least for the 8 months I've been here). So does this group need new moderators, yes. Does the site as a whole need MORE moderators. Yes.

I don't think either are still active on MOCpages, neither has posted any new MOCs since October 2010.

Probably would be a good idea to get some new blood from the members who are definitely active.

But I think the title "better moderators" is a bit harsh and probably inappropriate. "active moderators" would have been a better way to phrase it.

We'll see what mark, sean and chris think.

Now I know I'm wasting my time, but please can we just WAIT for them to respond. if they ask for volunteers or nominations, then is the time to offer them, until then can we just be patient. Otherwise it looks like a lynch party forming or a coup and that isn't helpful.

I agree. MOCpages help admins got it under control.

Group moderators can lock topics.

It says in "Members" section in a group:

Moderators help keep the group running by keeping it on-topic and making sure everyone's following the rules.

Even though it says Moderators can lock a topic, they can't. Only admins. Of course, this could have been fixed, and I never knew. But as far as I know, mods can't lock topics.

Use your brain. They were probably made Mods ages ago, when they were active!

Truthfully, I don't think this group is in need of new moderators--everything wrong that goes on here is usually taken care of by the admins. I guess it would be helpful to have active moderators, but Chris Sean and Mark do a good job as it is.

true, but three people can't be everywhere at once, if there were more perhaps conversations like this one wouldn't have got past 2 comments before it was locked.

Sorry, Clone Kiddies? They are both very good Star Wars Builders and very good customisers. Just because if you wanted to customise a clone you would just cover it in sharpie, they are actually good at it.

 Group admin
This group has the unique quality of being directly tied to the functionality of MOCpages. Therefore, even though Chris and I are recognized as admins, Sean is really the only one at the top of the hierarchy here. If he decides to alter the line-up of mods, then that's what we'll do. If not, then THAT's what we'll do. Bottom line.

If I remember correctly (50/50 chance!), the mods were here before I came on board, so I can't speak with certainty, but my guess would be that they were probably selected early on as the group was sort of defining itself and it's purpose. I assume Sean didn't select additional mods or alter them because he didn't feel the need to. And he's not said anything to me about moderators for the group since I joined. If he's content, then I am. ;)

While I think Chris Roach and Ape Fight and great and active members, Mr. Phipson and Mr. Kelso also do very well. They may not answer every single question, but that's because it's already been answered in another thread a week ago. When it comes to new, important issues the Mods are always there.
