The MOTD system
I'm pretty sure most of us on Mocpages discovered today that a set with Megabloks got to MOTD (it's not even a MOC, it's just commenting on a new MB release), and not only that it has over 150 likes probably due to some minor spamming. I already know that clone brands ARE allowed on Mocpages, but that, my friends, isn't the point.

The point I'm trying to make is that the system MOCpages has for MOTD--I've heard it's random, but I'm not quite sure--isn't really as good as it should be. My first question would be how is MOTD chosen every day, and my second question would be should we change that system?

I think that a person should choose it instead, not a computer, even though that would take some work to do and waste time.

If you happen to know anyone who is independantly wealthy and has nothing better to do that surf mocpages every day for the MOTD then by all means let us know.

Until then, this system (randomly chosen after a few criteria (number of hits, number of likes and so on) are met) will just have to do.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. Too bad we can't do much about it.

Should All Megablocks & Other Non-Lego Creations Be Deleted ASAP?

No.

Should All Megablocks & Other Non-Lego Creations Be Reported ASAP?

That is neither here nor there. (I won't even comment on the caps)

Excuse Me? I Don't Understand What Your Trying To Say....

It's been decreed clone brands (Mega-Bloks, Brickarms, et cetera) are allowed, many times.

And I'd be a bit POed if a few of my creations were deleted because of a Brickarms gun, or Brickforge shield.

I sense an individual will be wierdly annoyed by this conversation (off-topic, blather), so I'll take my leave.

Just want to point out: None of those images are his. He clearly states that the images are from http://www.action-figure.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=ImageBank&file=index&id=91076
I can't get that page to load, but I found another one with identical images:

Yah, The MOTD system isn't the best thing (when it holds a non-lego item such as Megablox) about MOCpages. But we have to accept it

I also don't like the idea of something non-lego(ish) being MOTD but....Yeah. That's probably the way it is and we have to accept it. That's the rules...

I think we should all just take a little less time criticising what gets on the home page and a little more time building. MOTD has been described as a flawed necessity for some time, it is what it is, get over it already.

As for "clone bricks" not being real lego, so what? It takes the same skills to build with megoblocks or kre-o as it does to build with lego.

Technically, it takes more skill; clone brand manufacturing tolerances are truly awful, so they tend to pop apart without warning.

Okay! This is getting crazy! The MOTD right now is just a empty file!

I think I know just what happened. I think, due to the enourmous amounts of mean, hateful, and rude comments piling up here and on that guy's creation, he decided it was best to delete it rather than have a controversial creation represent MOCpages for a day.
