Yeah. That's pretty much a good reason why you should'nt put marquee.

Probably be simpler to just set up a script that automatically wipes pages whenever someone adds a marquee tag. It'd fix the problem AND teach them a lesson.

This is a topic we've been over again and again. The marquees interfere with the functionality of the site in a way that causes these home page problems. Please spread the word...no marquees.

You don't have too delete your account. There is a topic that will help you on removing marquee. It is by Austin Durick and the topic is called, "How to remove marquee from your page!" But the bad thing is you need an android or iPhone WITH internet.
