I just uploaded my first moc, and have been going crazy figuring out how to put pictures under text.

right, is the moc already displayed without text on your home page? all you need to do is click the thumbnail, and at the top right corner above the first picture there should be the word "EDIT" click on that and just write your text in the big white box that appears. remember if you want the text under the pictures you need to tab down to BELOW the lines which start <a

then save the moc again.

That's plain easy. All you have to do is when you make an MOC and you want to write under a photo, but first you need to add the pictures. Then under the title you'll have links of your photos. Go on the last line of the link and click enter. You'll be writing under the link of the photo. When you preview your creation, you'll see that you wrote under the picture.

Ice Reaper is right. Just go to your pictures (but they're html) click on the html, then click the "enter" button on your keyboard. Then start typing. Then you're good to go! :)
