MY ACCOUNT HACKED! HELP!!!!
Please help me. My mocpages account got hacked and i really would like it back, hopefully in time to upload my entry for the MOC Olymics. I own the other account for the name David Cook, i just tried to log in and it said the the password was incorrect, so i tried it again. i knew i was typing in the right password but it still didnt let me in, so i went to the password recovery page to get it back, then it told me my email didnt exist in the directory, thats when i got really worried. i panicked, set up this account and am now posting this. i can prove it is my account, i have the un edited pictures and documents for most of my moc still on my computer, plus i said my email is oneofham@yahoo.com on a few moc's. if i was planning on those people contacting me, why would i change my email? please help me moderators.

I hope they get it fixed. There was another MOCpages member, A.D. Lord of Darkness, and his account was hacked to. He lost all of his mocs, profile, everything until the account was deleted. He has a new profile, but is no longer as popular as he once was. I really hope you can get your MOColympics entry up in time on your old account. Good luck with this.

but i dont understand why i was hacked. I'm not even that popular a builder. unless its acting like this because i have been banned, but i dont think i did anything... unless that news vignette about the site crash made them angry...

Sit tight. I passed it on to Sean and he'll look into it. We seriously doubt at this point that your account was "hacked." We'll get back to you with some answers soon.

Thanks.

I've been being really patient, and will continue to do so, but the deadline for MOC olympics is tomorrow and i realy want to have my moc up on my main account so i dont have to add all my MOC olympics entries from this account... plus I have two other moc's awaiting upload and wish to get them up soon. If you have made any progress on what happened to my account whether it was a site glitch or if it really was hacked, I would appeciate any info... sorry if I sound like I'm begging but, well... I am.

Well, we can tell you that your account wasn't "hacked" in the common understanding of the word.

Couple of things to think about here... do you have any siblings that would play a joke on you if you were to walk away from the computer without logging out? Or maybe one of your friends that you MAAAY have "accidentially" told your password to? Or maybe you just typed it wrong? Maybe you even changed the password and just forgot that you did? (I've done that at work before, it happens)

Not trying to put blame on anyone, I'm just trying to see all the options here. My advice to you would be to think about all these things and see if maybe one of those is the option that best fits.

I can tell you that no one from "out here in internet land" "hacked" into your account so the above options are really all that could have happened.

As for the olympics, I know you don't really want to but I'd suggest using the second account you have here for now. We had an issue last year where one of the players had to do this and it worked out fine.

Good luck!

as for the Olympics, ill do that thanks. but for the sibling or forgetting password thing, i have 4 sisters, but they all moved out of the house... the only thing i did was log into the account from a web proxy with firefox, so maybe someone got the password through the proxy server and changed it just to be an ass...

thanks for your time and effort, i really appreciate it. and i hope i wasnt too much of an inconvenience.

Please help me.

I replied to the e-mail you sent me; Please check your mail for further help.

To ease the minds of our other readers: MOCpages has not been hacked. I'm assuming you forget to "sign out" after using a shared computer, such as a school computer or one that you share with a family member. When you don't Sign Out, someone else can sit right down after you walk away and there's no way for a web site to know it's not the same person at the keyboard.

Remember to always click on "Sign out" (at the top right corner) when you're done using MOCpages on a shared computer.
