Are you sure?? Because thats not true, go on a Bionicle builders page and you will see what im talking about. If you said that because there was some new rule then im wrong.

http://www.mocpages.com/help/ In the "creating pages" section. It's why you can't add music.

Tick the 'share' button directly under the video, then press 'embed', tick the box saying: 'Use old embed code'. Copy the code in the box and paste it on your page.

To add a youtube video: Go to the youtube video page, right click the video, press copy embed html, go to your 'create a page' window and hold (on your keyboard) Control and then press V. That should make your video html show up. Hope this helps. :)

Just a note: the "no music" thing refers to PLAYLISTS, not youtube vids.

See, a while ago, people embedded custom playlists on their pages. Not from youtube; some music site. Anyway, the list of blocked HTML was a bit smaller back then, and where one app goes, others will follow. Like those brain-dead talking tomato and hamster wheel flash things. So: certain unpleasant fellows abused that to add things that really don't belong on here, Sean took the safe road, and now iframes don't work.

So yeah; youtube vids with music in 'em are fine. A bit annoying sometimes if hidden and set to autoplay, but allowed.

Unless I've completely misinterpreted things, which isn't completely outside the bounds of possibility.

The initial ban on music actually had to do with several members (and one in particular) embedding music with - not just bad, but HORRENDOUS - language. Sean put the kybosh on that pronto, given MOCpages main demographic. Since that time, music has basically been off limits.

However, we tend to look the other way most of the time, as long as the music is clean and supports the creation (rather than being the main reason for the post). We haven't gone so far as to say something like "sure, it's fine. Have a blast with it." mainly because it would open up a flood gate of MOCs to be modded, and infinitely increase the likelihood unwanted content slipping through the cracks.

So in a nutshell...it's sort of allowed. Just don't get too carried away with doing posts with music, and for crying out loud keep it clean. Or we all suffer Sean's wrath! ;)

Did anyone ever said they are totally obeying the rules? And Oliver, he said it's against the rules, so don't keep asking on and making unnesicary topics for every single problem!

so can you add music with no bad things

read mark's post again, the answer to your question is NO but if you do (and the content is clean) you probably will not get into any trouble. But seriously the answer is NO you cannot add music.

I think you need to read it again too. If music is appropriate and adds to the moc rather than being the focus point, then they don't really care. Personally, I couldnt do what I do here on mocpages without music. I have two very popular comic series that both use music in every episode, kind of like a movie would be. I couldnt imagine them without music.

what are the commics
Chronicles of Mythada was my first series. It's a medieval fantasy trilogy I made in 2009. Then I made my post-apocalyptic sci-fi No Refuge in 2010. No Refuge II is in production right now and will premiere soon.

And acting like an overly-mature child hasn't either.

sorry but that is NOT what Mark's post says. You are quoting the exception NOT the rule.

Following some cases of vulgar AND offensive music being played on some pages ALL MUSIC WAS BANNED. Mark did not say that ban had been lifted at all.

I know the ban isn't lifted. All Im saying is that youtube videos that add to the Moc don't seem to be a problem to the Mods here. It's starting to sound like you don't like the idea of music with any sort of Moc, helpful or not.
