in the group conversations, it shows when it was last updated. But when it was updated a week ago, it says "updated today" instead of saying "updated last week". Here's a link to one that says "updated today":http://www.mocpages.com/group_conversation.php?id=16048&topicid=65450

If I understand things correctly it uses a seven day cycle, stated by days after the first two days (so an example would go: today, yesterday, Fri, Thurs, Wed, etc.). Say something was posted on a monday...once six more days pass, it will say monday again (rather than "last week").

I'm sorry, Caleb, but I'm not clear on what you're asking. Can you re-phrase, please?

Hey, I uploaded my first creation today and I was wondering if it had been looked through and when it would become visible. Thanks!

One of my first MOC's that I uploaded seemed to be invisible for a really long time, but when I pushed edit and didn't change anything and saved it, it became visible. Might help you.

If it was your first creation with a new account, it usually takes up to 24 hours for it to become visible. Chris moderates new accounts in the evenings, and I do a morning shift each day. I'll be hopping over to that section here in a few minutes, and I'll keep an eye out for your account - we do run into glitches from time to time.

Do me a favor, if you will...let us know if it doesn't show up today (Thurs, 28th).

Okay, so when I add a creation, like I just did, and it gets at least three likes, it most likely goes on the homepage under "Everyone's creation". My question is, how long is it allowed to stay there, and does it matter which time of the day you add it?

Ah, gotcha - thanks!

At what point it appears on the home page, and how long it stays there depends on the activity level of other builder's new posts. Basically, new posts are competing for a select number of spaces there on the home page. If you don't have a lot of competition (i.e. post something at a time when activity is low), then the MOC is likely to get on there with fewer ILI's, and stay there longer. As competition increases (i.e. a lot of builders posting new MOCs at the same time), your creation will need to have more ILI's to reach the home page and stay there. It's a numbers game, the way I understand it.

As for the best time to post, there are differing thoughts on that. Personally, I don't think there's any ONE time that's all that great. Weekends, in general, get more visitors...BUT...they're also the times when competition is highest (with new MOCs appearing every few minutes). Go for a time when there are fewer posts, and those are the same times when there are fewer viewers - double edged sword, so to speak.

Sure - and I don't think there's any limit to the length of time a MOC can be on there. As I understand it, as long as it's getting more looks and comments than it's newer competitors (for one of those home page slots), I think it will remain on the home page. But, even the most popular ones are usually only seen for maybe a day or so...then they tend to be seen for a while in the "most popular" section.
