I mean like automatically, like on Mark's Apocalypse II (Sorry if I spelled it wrong.)

I used a Youtube video and a collection of music from Playlist (set to play automatically), but altered the code in various areas to eliminate the visual elements that accompany the Youtube imagery on my page. Basically if you alter the code in areas that provide measurements (looking like: height=_____ width=____) to zero, you should be good to go.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

Y'know, it WOULD be kinda nice to have the theme from Red Dwarf playing while people looked at my stuff. I have to give that some serious thought.

I suppose as a MOD here on the pages, I should warn everyone not to get too carried away with the music thing. I do it only for Apocalypsis, and there's a reason...

A while back, we started embedding tunes on LOTS of MOCs. But it wasn't long before someone starting using music that had a good deal of F-bombs and other banned language. Sean put the Kybosh on that pronto!

After that, embedding music was officially banned. Of course, through Youtube, we found a way around that little problem, and Sean has been gracious enough to let it be....

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!

BUT!!!! If anyone starts posting music that contains troublesome content, we'll be looking at a complete ban before you can say "Sean's the boss." So, (sounding like an uncle that's letting the kids stay up past their bed time) I ask...no, I BEG...please use descretion with the music you select, and try not to overdo it! I'm in NO WAY suggesting someone here has done that or is planning to. I'm just putting this out to nip things in the bud BEFORE potential problems arise.

Now, with that said, good luck with the music you do choose to use, and Areetsa...thanks for that link!

Point taken. I decided not to add music anyway. I'm basically a lazy guy and it looked like too much work after I checked it out.

It's not that difficult, with a bit of practice.

You can just paste this on your page and it should do the job:

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DTEpiFcn0wI&hl=en_US&fs=1&autoplay=1"; type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" hidden="true"></embed></object>

Of course, it won't loop, but that's for the best; looping music tends to drive people mad.

Thanks, I'll try that. I'm glad it won't loop, though. That drives me bonkers too! It's like eating three slices of chocolate cheesecake. The first one was great, the second was okay, but that third one! Never wanted to even see cheesecake again for a long time!

I'm okay with it looping under certain circumstances. What I hate is when you click an image to see some detail, then go back and the tune starts from the beginning again. Several times under those conditions, I've never gotten to the end of the musical piece, but heard the beginning fifteen times. That's why I'll try to make the images large enough where you don't have to leave the page, and can just scroll right through.

Does your browser have tab support?
I usually open each image in its own tab.
