The last one was getting long so I decided to start a new one. Feel free to generally converse as you have done in the past 12 general conversations.

I got my computer back, so I should be a lot more active. Sorry for my inactivity!

Surgery? What happened?

Right, 18 months ago (approximately) I was at the first cricket training of the year. Whilst throwing from the boundary to the wicket keeper (50 odd meters) my shoulder dislocated at the point that I released the ball. The joint snapped back into the socket, but not correctly, so it remained essentially half dislocated, pinching the nerves around the joint. (Unfortunately we did not know this at the time).
I spent a year travelling to and from a physiotherapist(A 450 kilometer trip) every two weeks, but it was not fixing the problem. We took more drastic measures and saw a specialist.
He told us what I had done, which was tear the labrum tendon off the bone, and slightly torn the labrum itself.
I had surgery to clean up the tendon and reattach it to the bone.

Ouch. That's not any fun at all. I did something similar to my shoulder, but it popped back into place a couple weeks later.

In hindsight that probably would have been a better outcome, it would have been an easier fix i would have thought.

Not that a completely dislocated shoulder for a couple of weeks would have been either comfortable nor painless, I'm sure.

Yes, I remember when I last went to my Lego store...

It was a few years ago and I bought so much that I needed to take it in one of those massive zip lock bags. (The extra large storage variety that I have seen some people using it as a bag for clothing on camp)

Wow! That is busy! I think one of the most time-consuming thing to do is take pictures of a MOC once it's done....it's not as rewarding as just looking at a MOC once it's done. But, once the MOC is posted, then it's better. It's just starting to take pictures is what's not so great.

Sad but true. Yet another unfortunate fact of life and yet I think if I had a nice camera, a studio, and some sweet lighting it would be a lot more fun.

Plus, the LEGO group has to think about the future - they can't keep the same prints forever. Might as well make them more realistic since they can.

Here in Germany we have only public schools as far as I know, so it is quite interesting to see how many people here are homeschooled. How is it? I guess on the one hand it must be fun, but on the other you don't learn to know many other people in youre age.

It's nice being homeschooled. I'm not a very social person (didn't see that comin', did ya?) so I don't miss out on making friends. Most of my friends are people I met at church years ago and we still hang out from time to time and there are other people I've met so I'm pretty good on friends and stuff. And you don't even have to leave the house to do school work!

Here in Germany we have only public schools as far as I know, so it is quite interesting to see how many people here are homeschooled. How is it? I guess on the one hand it must be fun, but on the other you don't learn to know many other people in youre age.
I really like being homeschooled. By the time I turn 19 I'll have my fully accredited Bachelor's degree. That's because I'm able to study from home, lots of studying, but only one college subject at a time (at least right now that is) while doing regular schoolwork.
Surprisingly, there are a lot of homeschoolers around, so I know a bunch of them, not to mention people from my church. I also have my extended family who all live close by, so I have my 2 brothers, cousin, and uncles :)

I feel like I can get more done at home than I ever would have in public school. Plus, my parents being Christians, they felt that homeschooling was the best thing for us. That's how it all started. There are many things taught in American schools that my parents did (and now even more so) not approve of.

I don't know, there's brainwashing on both sides. Some religious people give me the creeps when they harp on about things which are "unholy" like same gender marriage and advanced mathematics.

I think the whole term "religion" should be abolished, especially in relation to the "separation of church and state." Too many religious people and not enough genuine people.

Advanced mathematics? Wut?

Well it all comes down to knowing what your beliefs are so you know why what some teachers are telling you is wrong. Things aren't too bad in my school.

Well people are entitled to their own Religion, but we are discussing opinions being taught in school, and what has Math got to do with anything?

Yesterday I was on Star Wars Con in Essen. There were many fans who were dressed up and also many actors who gave autographs (Mark Hammil, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew). Though I could impossibly get one, because they cost a lot of money.

On facebook I uploaded some photos of them (mostly Kenny Baker/R2-D2 and Peter Mayhew/Chewbacca) and also some photos of me sitting in the cantina and killing Greedo, in a bacta-tank, behind a Scouttrooper on Endor and with R2-D2 and Jabba.
I also met Anthony Daniels (C-3PO). I had a funny dialogue with him, because I wore my Hobbit t-shirt on Star Wars Con. XD "What is this r****sh? It's the wrong t-shirt of the wrong movie!"
If you want to see the photos, just check them out on facebook. If we aren't friends on facebook, then just tell me your name and I'll add you. :)

You need the Bronze Medallion to teach swimming over there? We just need the AWSI and WSI courses, the Bronze series is just part of the lifeguarding qualifications.

I like the new missile launchers, but I'm not a big fan of the big bulky blasters. I don't think they will go well in MOCs, but I think that kids might enjoy playing with them. Besides, I doubt that they shoot very far with such a small mechanism.

I'm not a big fan of LEGO making always so many remakes, so collecting the old sets and minifigs doesn't really make any sense anymore.
Now there are at least 2 versions of every minifig where in the past there was only one. (Mace Windu, Watto, Sebulba, Dengar, Padme, Gungan Warrior, Grievous, Luminara etc)

Jedi Knight 2 has always been on my top 3 favourite Star Wars games, along with the phantom menace video game for the PS1 and the PC.

I'm such a huge fan of the JK2 game that I have 2 copies! 1 for the PC and 1 for the Gamecube.

I only have phantom menace and Jedi Knight one! I also used to have Jedi Academy. They're great games, but sadly they are to slow for my new computer. :(

I really love the KOTOR games! KOTOR I is my favorite SW game.

But I think KOTOR II is a bit boring and has a less good story compared to the second one.

I wouldn't know as I've never been able to finish one...I always start a game then get interested in something else or get a new game =P

I do think that Sion and Nihlus look really cool though. :)

I managed to finish the first game a few months ago after about a year of trying - I could only go a few minutes without the game crashing, and I couldn't pass some of the side quests because the game just kept freezing at the conversations, and the cut scenes would just not play.

I bought a digital copy from Steam when they had their Star Wars 66% off sale, but haven't managed to finish Dark Forces because it's a nineties game and is impossible. And I am not playing the games out of order.

Oh man, Dark Forces is brutal. If you never move on to the sequel you're missing a lot.

KOTOR II wasn't nearly as good, though still fun. It just wasn't iconic.

I really want to play TOR, but between my outdated computers and lack of time I've not tried it yet. Hopefully it's not shut down ever...

KOTOR II had better graphics and cooler Jedi robes, but other than that KOTOR I is by far the best game!

I have a TOR account. The graphics are excellent and the music is the original star wars sound.

Croatia! Interesting fact about Croatia: They invented the tie in the form of a cravat, which their soldiers would wear proudly into battle. This was during the 30 years war, in 1618.

Also, remember to celebrate International necktie day on October 18.

Sometimes. Usually on weekdays because someone on my street seems to such all the data - but I have quite a bit of homework lately. When I find the time however, I don't mind a game. Though I suck because my ping rarely rises below 600ms. I find RC has better server connections to Australia, so I play that a bit more.

I just watched the first episode of Season 6. It's interesting, how Order 66 is more like a programm in the head of the clones than a normal order. That explains why the clones kill their generals after they fought in many battles together.

Yeah it is interesting and makes way more sense than clones blindly following the order 66 after all they've been trough with their generals. I've seen the first 5 episodes now and can't stop watching.

Ok just finished watching the last episode. All in all a very good "season". Loved the last story arc, all though a little bit of me died inside when they changed Korriban's name to Morriban.

I'm done with it now, too. Very nice season! It's interesting that we got to see Oppo Rancisis. Too bad that there weren't any episodes with him.

Also: Has anyone heard about the new Disney Star Wars series "Rebels". I saw the lastest news about it, it is between Episode III and Episode IV.

It's not really a season, only the last episodes that were made, because Disney stopped the making process and decided to start their own series.

Star Wars Rebels looks like it has some promise! I'm looking forward to it!

Sadly it doesn't have any famous main characters from the 6 SW episodes. The Clone Wars style videos look very realistic, but at the end it was all fake. :(

THIS COMMENT CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T SEEN THE FIRST FOUR EPISODES OF SEASON 6. Be warned.

By a little slip on the writers' parts, I can now safely say that the clone wars is non-canon and all the retconning done on its behalf can be ignored.

In Episode 3, when Palpatine exterminates the Jedi via the clones, he opens a comlink to Cody first and says "Commander Cody, the time has come. Execute Order 66." Yes, he said THE TIME HAS COME. That implies the clones were already prepared to kill, already aware of their duty, and were just waiting for the signal. Also, Cody's reaction was very normal, very casual. He said in his standard voice, "it will be done, my lord." (Or something along those lines). No surprise, no weird, intense whisper...just an acknowledgement.

NOW. In The Lost Missions, when Tup malfunctioned and shot Master Tiplar, something happened. He went into a trance-like state and began whispering "Good soldiers follow orders." in a low, intense voice. He became aware of literally nothing but the Jedi. Later, after he was detained, he kept repeating that phrase. His eyes were rolling, he was moving jerkily, and he shouted and lunged for the next Jedi he saw. Soon after, he died. It was discovered then that a Biochip was placed in the heads of clones that MADE them execute order 66, whether they wanted to or not. The clones knew nothing about Order 66 or the Biochip, and just acted like robots when it was activated. Because Tup's malfunctioned, it clearly made him act strangely, but the trance-like state he was in looked like the standard for all clones with activated Chips, malfunctioning or not, because it got the job done and got it done efficiently.

So consider this. Cody acted perfectly normal after hearing Palpatine state "Order 66", and Palpatine had acted like the clones were already well aware of it. That directly contradicts the Clone Wars, in which the clones know nothing about the order and go into a trance when they hear it. Therefore, it is safe to assume the Clone Wars is non-canon. Star Wars is saved! HOORAY!

No, I doubt that Disney will care much about the old star wars extended universum stuff. Also the first photos of the movie are already there. They show people, aliens and a new huge pig-like creature on tatooine...

Welcome back! Yes, it's still running, but although we are the biggest SW group we don't have many active members, so I'm really happy that this group is running at all.

As for the moderator question, I think we really need some changes to bring this group back and make it strong again. And we need to promote this group and spread the word.
