2013-14 Tournament GamePlan
 Group admin
As you all know, I have summoned you all here to help lead the Crimson Knights to victory. I feel we can beat all other guilds, save one. And that one guild would be the Average Gnomes. Despite the ridiculous name and uniforms, they have some of the best builders in LoM. We can expect to face Freeling, George Marshall, Halhi, David, and many other great builders. But with perseverance, and an eye that pays clever attention to detail, I think we can beat them! Any suggestions or ideas about the Tourney or our opponents can be placed here.

We need to be as creative as possible. I mean, pure building skill (and humor) can't lead the Gnomes to victory. We need to think of unique entries, and take time with the thinking it through, BEFORE we actually build. A good example is my TT intro. I added some politics and such to spice it up a bit.

Not only do we need to be creative, we really need to pull all the stops with the build. The last time I built something I really tried on was my October UC. If we (me included, without a doubt) put time and effort in our builds, it will pay off.

Writing stories. This adds so much to MOCs. Whether is be the humorous stories of Mr. Falcon Punch, or the intriguing stories by others, stories are more vital than most realize.

If we do all of these things right (which is no small matter at all), we can pull this off.

I agree. Pure building skill alone won't win this thing(although it will help). I have a feeling the Gnomes think they have this in the bag, so I have a feeling they'll be a little sloppy with their work. We'll need to take advantage of this in the first round, shake them up a bit. I'm currently trying to fill up the final positions with great builders like Mark McPeek.

Can a LOM challenge also be used as a TT intro? I kinda want to show my guy going head-to-hand wrestling with the Black Lotus General Gibdo; or should I just do two separate things?

One more; can I enter TT intros in LOM and get points as a Freebuild?

It has to be it's own build. It is worth 5 character points in the LOM group, and the person with the best intro gets 5 additional points, just like the Universal Challenges.

So, just have Lucius wrestle something on an epic looking battlefield vig with some random guy surrounded by dead soldiers? Or can it be Gibdo that he wrestles?.

For now, you just need to show your character either discussing the Tourney, or entering Carthal. The actual tournament doesn't start until January. Right now, everyone is just prepping.

The only problem is, before they can join this group, they have to officially state that they wish to join the Crimson Knights. David FNJ made that clear to me in another thread.

Ok, the story part for me is not a problem, its actually my favorite part. I'm afraid to say, my feeble amount of parts probably wont get me to far. So I'm hoping judges like stories....and bribes. (What?! We are outlaws!)

You do have some pretty good stories. My advice is to make small scenes that are as detailed as you can make them. Also, try to make all the minifigures look as good as you can- they can make or break a small build.

I agree about the Gnomes getting cocky. One thing we could all try is to make brickbuilt fp backdrops for our entries. I've seen Caleb put those on several of his mocs, and they seem to have the effect of magnifying an otherwise mediocre build.

FP is a great idea for our entries. I suspect that the Gnomes will expect to take first place no matter what, so we've got to hit them hard in the first round, maybe even get lucky and knock a few of their best out of the tourney early.

I suspect at least a third of the Gnomes purposely won't give their best in R1 out of arrogance. Did you know Halhi said the worst he'll possibly place is fourth? R1 is most likely going to be an elimination round, though, so it might be R2 when we first encounter a Gnome in battle. Regardless, we need to give it all we've got when we face them.

I know pretty much nothing about LoM,and medeival stuff, and building skills, but I know for a fact that if I get far, it's going to be from pure enjoyment with my bricks. I don't care if I win or loose, (I preferr winning) because to me, not having fun is loosing. So I say, have fun, build till' 3 in the morning, (okay, maybe not THAT far) and win or loose! (again, winning is preferred)

Alright guys, I think we need to really consider something.

We aren't going to take them by surprise. Their guild chat has 500+ conversation, and I guarantee half of it is about how to beat our guild. These guys are going to expect us to put up a fight.

We can't take them by surprise, so the only thing we do is outlast them. As Halhi himself said, a lot of these guys don't post or build too often. Not only that, they're all busy TFOLs just like us. So the key is just keep pushing. Keep building the best we can, with the best pictures we can take, write the best stories we can, for the longest we can.

Besides, the Avg. Gnomes just lost Cyberfrank. He may not have the best building skills, but he has a big collection, so their loss of him may improve our chances slightly. Also, I think 3/4 of the Avg. Gnomes' convo is about their guild charter- they practically missed the deadline and were chatting frantically about it in the public groups.

I have an idea, and I would like it to be decided by vote. Mainly because it effects which bracket you're in. I think it would be best if we split up our team members based what our opponents have chosen. I've done some looking, and this is what the Gnomes have chosen so far:

David.: Foot Combat
Stephen Boe: Foot Combat
~Brick: Foot Combat
George Marshall: Melee
Halhi 141: Heraldry
Freeling: Melee
Alex Rode: Foot Combat

So far, no one from the Gnomes has chosen wrestling, which is good for us. If we can get a good builder in that bracket, we'll be doing good.

I have also placed their members on what I believe to be their best to worst builders. I'm not saying anyone on their team is a bad builder, I'm just sayin'. And this is based on their medieval building and nothing else.

1. Toa Infirnum
2. Freeling
3. Halhi 141
4. George Marshall
5. David.
6. ~Brick
7. Matt W.
8. Alex Rode
9. Lindel Baskin
10. royalbrickcustoms(RBC)

And so as you can see, Toa Infirnum is our biggest threat with Freeling being a close second. And while the others are great builders too, I just don't see them as "unbeatable".

Freeling used some common sense, in my opinion. Not trying to be obnoxious here, but the moment you hauled into his guild to defend someone who looks like a noob YFOL brony, he thought something was up. Some people are buying it though- Gilbert hauled into Freeling, defending your false identity's cause. You seriously need to shut this down NOW, no matter whether the Avg. By MOCpages, the only way to communicate privately is through a private group. I didn't see any suspiciously small groups on anybody's group lists, but if you want to you can double-check with Halhi or Ian's group lists. As I said to Caleb, why would Halhi go to all the trouble of tracking down his evidence, if he had a mole to simply tell him about this when this first started two days ago?

Hey guys! I'm not sure how much of an addition I'll be to this group but I will do my best! There is a few things I want to say:
1. I am David's sister (yes the same David that is with the Average Gnomes) and I found it ironic that after I chose this group and tried to make sense of the conversation(still a little confused) that apparently they are the group you/we are trying to beat the most....
2. I have never been good at writing stories
3. I am hopeless at learning all of the abbreviations. And I don't know much about the LOM
Well I think that is it....And if this is supposed to be in the General Convo let me know and I will move it :-)

Anyway, Just give me what you want, and I'll write a story for the MOC. Just be sure to take proper pictures.

Basically, create a new character, depending on which nation you wish to join(Mythron, Nerougue, Outlaw, Enalican) if you haen't already. I would suggest that you join the people of Enalica, since you're in this group, so be sure to tell DFNJ in the Mythron group.

Make an intro for your character, then for the tourney, make your character take part in the tourney parade, title it TT Intro, and you'll be all set character wise.

Finally, sign up in what bracket you want, be sure to name the guild and then sit back until January 1st.

Nice! Looks like its going to be great! I have to do something based on a party, which is not something I expected to have to do. So I have to think a while about my plan. I'm thinking about doing something where we steal a Gnome's speedo and throw it on a windmill.

Sounds like quite a wild party! You'll have to ask if pixelization is acceptable under the no-photo-editing rules, however- we're supposed to be child-appropriate in our entries XD

Looks pretty good. I would advise building a backdrop for the scene, either the sky as Mr. Falcon Punch did, rockwork, or a building.

For your Tourney entry, all the scenes have to be connected somehow on one base. It looks like some of the scenes might be modular, but if the judges can't tell that they all fit together you're likely to get points deducted.

EDIT: Just saw your replies on the build. I'm sorry to say it, but you might have to either start over or whittle down the scenes you have so that they can all be assembled together, in one shot. At least you have time if you decide to redo it.

Also, I just realized something. Out of all the Tourney Intro entries, which ones won? Halhi's had hinged rockwork, A Sargent's had legs as a roof, and Jacob's had an inset window and door. Try to use any unusual technique you can: Google Lego tree techniques and water techniques, and look through this great guide: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=60907 Then, PLEASE post WIPs so that we can give you feedback. WIP for my entry: http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=&id=/user_images/103077/1389240761m

The category is to make a underground chamber with a series of mechanical traps in it.

I tried to imitate Halhi's rockwork style, and I think it turned out tolerably well.

The lowered plate in front of the table will trigger a falling cage when it's pressed.

What should I do about the wall behind the table? Right now I have two non-moving blades with an empty space in between. Should I put a statue there? Should I make a crack in the wall leading to another cave?

Thanks! I'll try to get a strip of contrasting trim around the top of the wall. Also, although it's hidden by the pillar, there's a large crack in the back wall to make it look more ruinous.

If anything, I think that it just proves that the gnomes are whiny brats and will do whatever they can, even slander other contestants, to get what they want. I feel that this is good, especially for our members that did not enter.

Does anyone else feel upset when you put work into a MOC, it gets no recognition from those on the outside, then someone posts something similar, and they get most discussed? -_-

Although I am grateful for the extension, I am getting really annoyed with Halhi. He whined for like 6 comments about the extension and even after that he whined. Seriously, they have the best odds to win and yet they still complain. Good grief, I'm actually really happy I am not in their guild. I would honestly rather lose in this guild than win with them. I kind of have to agree with you. Personally, I think they're getting frustrated because their grand scheme of every member advancing every round is falling apart. Even Gnomes are human, and Halhi, George, and Freeling are finding that out as members run out of time to post or forget their minifigures.

I'm finding the Gnomes to be quite a nuisance. Their every chance to slander us. They're dumb comments when we poke fun at them. The extension whining is icing on the cake. I agree with Caleb. I'd much rather go down with you folks, then succeed with them.

Plus, I don't think the judges took enough into account with the extension. Say builder A rushes to meet the deadline. It might not be as good because he tried to get it in on time. Builder B takes the extra two days to really get it together. Builder A gets 30 points, due to being rushed. Builder B gets 45 because of the extra time. Even with the penalty, builder B out scores because he got more time to build.

What do you guys think about the extension? An opportunity to post after all? A concession to Halhi's lobbying and Freeling's yelling that will only help the Gnomes?

I think it may have hurt us. It gave the Gnomes the time thy needed to get all their best builders back in the lineup. Even though the point deduction may help. And yes, Halhi and Freeling are getting on my nerves.

I just think they are surprised at how much of a challenge we are. I think they expected to be able to win the tourney with no problem. And now since they're having "technological problems" they are panicking and whining.

I kind of have to agree with you. Personally, I think they're getting frustrated because their grand scheme of every member advancing every round is falling apart. Even Gnomes are human, and Halhi, George, and Freeling are finding that out as members run out of time to post or forget their minifigures.

I think all their best builders bombed the first round. I personally thought Freeling's entry was bad. And so was George's. The only one that really stepped up was Halhi, and it looked like even he didn't give it his all.

Attention all Crimson Knights!

Round 1 ends soon, and I would just like to say I am proud of every single one of you and your entries. All of your entries showed heart and skill. We were forced to challenge some of the "best" builders in round one and I think we really stuck if to them. No matter if you get eliminated of not, I am proud to call you my team members. Even though the extension was slightly unfair and the Gnomes wouldn't stop whining until they received it, we didn't complain and did the best we could with the time given to us. Great job everyone!

Oh, definitely. George sort of tried, and same with Toa, but overall they were totally overconfident. Halhi did pretty well, but I can tell he didn't give his full potential on his strong suite of rockwork. None of the other members have the same skills or pushed themselves to the same level. We at least all tried our best.

Despite the valiant effort and the multitude of great entries from this guild, I think the AGs might have edged us out very slightly despite their mishaps.

OK, I'll be completely honest with my opinions here, so nobody get irritated, please :)

In no particular order, I think Andrew JN, A Sargent, you, and I have the best chances of advancing. Most of this feedback I didn't give on the builds because they'd already been entered in the Tourney group, but maybe this can help for next time.

Andrew has good quality on the walls, and has some good techniques that might help his score. Overall, though, there are a few things such as the thick banners and the studs on the floor that make it seem a bit unfinished.

A Sargent has good landscaping and textures on the outside, and a sloping roof that might help. The plain inside might impact scoring, however, but he, in my opinion, has the best chances of advancing in our guild.

Jacob, nothing jumps out as especially good in your scene, but all the surfaces have enough textures that it all works. If there had been more minifigures or furniture to give a busy feel, this might have been a really solid competitor; as it is, I still think this is going to get a solid middle-of-the-pack finish.

I think that my functional trap and the design on the lower level have the potential to score well. However, compared with some of the other entries like Halhi's it's a pretty short tunnel, and I'm worried that having only one trap is going to hurt me in judging.

Warble and Caleb both had good entries and might also advance, if they can overcome photo quality or penalty issues, respectively. Besides that, there might of course be a couple surprises, but these are my best guesses.

Great feedback Thomas! Concerning my entry, I'm not all that good at interiors. I was assuming that the melee bracket meant fighting on a battleground. So I was kind of stumped for a while. Then when the idea came to me, I picked it up and ran with it. If I make it to the next round, I will post WIP pics before I post.

I was insanely busy, and already had the insurgency stuff built, then I realized that I had to pack my LEGOs up THAT day or leave them in China. As a result, I had to build and photograph it in one day. Otherwise I would have had 4 or 5 days :(

I need your honest opinion. Do you think I could win?

My honest opinion is this: Stephen put up a great build. It has fantastic rockwork, nice water technique, and great overall structure. Not much of a storyline to it and it lacks humor. And I didn't like his lighting that much. But, Stephen is right. It is one of his best. Yours, on the other hand, is very original, in my opinion. I like how you have minifigs lined up watching the race. I also like how you added in obstacles to spice it up. The best part was how well the "fire pit" was done. Not to mention you had a little bit of humor in there. Plus, the pics were great, so there should be no point deductions there. Overall, it comes down to how the judges judge. If they are looking for pure beauty, they would pick Stephen based purely on his rock and water techniques. But, if they base it more on originality and skillful building, I think they will vote for you. So all in all, this one will all come down to how the judges judge. Personally I like yours better.

I'm currently doing the floor with George's tavern floor style and Halhi's rockwork around the edges, and some thick plants to fill up the gaps. I just need an idea of something for me to lift in the contest.

The front end of the dragon is amazing- something I will definitely be referring to if I ever decide to build one. The body looks fine to me, because it's covered by the wings. However, the tail looks scrawny and unnatural compared to the rest of the body. I would replace it with some of these parts, or do a brick-built tail that doesn't stick up instead.

I hate to say it, but this is the whole reason why we have a guild group. You post WIP shots and get feedback before you post. Someone could have told you that your catapult design was an onager, for instance, so that you wouldn't get points deducted for not following the rules. Somebody could have told you that MOCpages doesn't support FLickr videos, and could have walked you through the steps of uploading a video from Youtube. Unfortunately, because you didn't want to take input first, you already added it to the main Tourney group, so you can't change any of this. I understand that you didn't want to give Warble an advantage, but asking for tech support, at least, should shame no one.

I'm sorry if I was too harsh here, but to have a chance we need to sometimes swallow our pride and stick together.

That's great! Although for some reason, I'm really nervous about what Lindell is going to post. He seemed a little too happy when he commented on my entry. Plus he's been talking a lot today in the Gnomes group. I hope he doesn't pull off something great.

Yes, eliminating so few people in R1 really threw the matches out of whack. At the same time as the close matches, there are also several matches between builders that are both mediocre at best :/

Arguments about theme songs, mottos, more theme songs, more mottos, WIP discussions, getting mad at judges for not granting extensions, getting mad at other judges for granting extensions, ridiculing Freeling, ridiculing ~Brick, emailing pictures back and forth to get them edited, panicking because of a missed deadline, panicking because of a forgotten fig at Freeling's house...

Matt W. is Freeling's cousin, and he forgot his fig in R1 (so his sigfig in that round is a white ninja). I know Matt, and I think several others, are having their pictures edited by guildmates (Freeling, and maybe some others). Several people were bugging the judges, Freeling in caplocks, to allow a deadline extension for R1, which was eventually granted. Then, Freeling got mad because the substitution he had made for Matt wasn't needed anymore. Our guild motto is "Truth, Justice, Vistory" (official) or "Crimson Knights FTW!" (unofficial, but much cooler). We don't have a theme song (yet).

Everyone,

I'm going to put together a music video for Safe and Sound for our guild theme song, if nobody has any objections. I'll need two in-focus photographs of each player's character, standing in front of one of your scenes, and if possible one with some red in the background, for a montage. I might not use both photos, and I should be making my selections this afternoon, but I'll try to take your selections into consideration.

It's an obvious ploy. Even if Lindel has something incredible up his sleeve, there's nothing that can be done, and Halhi knows that. That's the only reason he said anything: to worry us. Just ignore the guy.

Thanks for the suggestion. Added a video to show function. Firing on this thing is hit and miss. Sometimes the barrel doesn't come off the chain, sometimes it fires, sometimes the counterweight just snaps the whole thing in two. lol

Below are a list of the match-ups from the second round. Give an opinion about either how you did, or how you think other match-ups will turn out. Don't be afraid to give your opinion, all criticism is something we can benefit from.

-----Set 1, The Melee and Heraldry brackets -----

• The Melee •

George Marshall vs. Rylie French
-Training
Your team isn't going to win anything if it doesn't get some practice in. Build a sample of your guild's training complex.

Andrew the Jedi Ninja vs. Lj Smith
-Checkmate
Take the fight to the checkerboard and represent your guild as a chess team! You can make a full board of any size or as little as one square with a chess piece on it. There are no limits on piece sizes, but the pieces must be a separate component from the board and both must be recognizable for what they are.

Zach Lucia vs. David ~UberBricks
-Overflow
The Melee has poured over the designated boundaries and now warriors are fighting where they should not be! Show a cavalry brawl in some village streets, your character pursuing an enemy into dangerous ground or any other mix-ups that you can think of!

Legotier : ) vs. Mr. Falcon Punch
-Loot
Oh, the sweet spoils of sport! After a long battle, it's time to measure out the profit. Show your character deciding what to do with or about any armor, treasure, or other spoils that would be found after a larger battle. (remember, armies had to carry a decent amount of their livelihood in order to survive the months of travel and battle)

• Heraldry •

~ Brick vs. Gabe Murray
- Coat of Arms
What are your character's colors and symbols? Find some creative way of building a MOC around them. Will you build an actual shield, an elaborate mosaic, a diorama incorporating these elements or something entirely original?

Alex Rode vs. Ian .....
- Noteworthy Lineage
Go back in time twenty, thirty, two hundred years and choose an ancestor of your current character to have an adventure. This is an open challenge in terms of building requirements, but entries must be set in a time period that people would have known of in the middle ages and show the change in time period. Find Gilbert Despathens if you would like historical advice on this challenge.

Freeling ++ vs. Kai Bernstein
Build 1-3 1:1 scale medieval weapons. The higher the quality, the higher the score. Show yourself (or just part of yourself) wielding the weapon(s).

David . vs. Shawn Gibson
- Civilian Life
What would your character be like if he or she chose a path free of violence, even the tournament kind? Show us the butcher, baker, candlemaker or other professional within!

-----Set 2, Wrestling and Foot Combat brackets -----

• Wrestling •

Toa Infernum vs. Lord Bacca
- Archery Event
What's a medieval tournament without an archery event? Build an event-like scene depicting your character trying his hand at an archery event. Are you skilled enough to move on to the next round?
Remember, this should be styled like an event. So your build should include one or more people at a line with targets in the field (doesn't have to be a field of course). People are excited about The Tourney, so spectators and judges are definitely allowed to be in the stands, sidelines, etc.

Stephen Boe vs. Caleb R.
- Sprinting Event
Build an event-like scene depicting your character in some sort of running race (or a relay race with other minifigures in your guild (can be imaginary guild members). You decide the terrain of the race. Since this is an event, sidelines of friends, family, and fans can definitely be present as well as judges to verify who wins the race. You do not have to have a start and finish line (or either) as part of your build. Are you quick enough to move on to the next round?

Thomas of Tortuga vs. Matt W.
- Strength Event
Whether it's rolling boulders, carrying large packs up the side of a small cliff, or a combination of them with your own additions, build an event-like scene depicting your character achieving physical feats of strength. What we don't want is a scene with you fighting off orcs and wargs. Spectators and fans along the sidelines watching are definitely allowed as well as judges to ascertain the fairness of the competition. Remember, your character is competing against other minifigures. Are you strong enough to move on to the next round?

Mr. Cab vs. Elven Ranger
Wrestling: TV Style
Silly costumes, cheesy vendettas, smashing chairs and who-knows-what else... Since this bracket is called "wrestling," deal with your opponent in the ring as a showman and not necessarily a gentleman.

• Foot Combat •

Halhi 141 vs. Chi Warrior
- Gladiator
You were traveling to the next Tourney event but you were ambushed by a large orc tribe. Resistance to the capture was futile and you have been brought to an arena of some sort. You are given a flimsy sword and no shield. The concept is simple. Defeat all of the enemies and champions sent into the arena (all orcs or goblins or other weird creatures) and be released, or die by their hands. Obviously you want to win, so show your character surviving against the hoard of orcs to gain your freedom (this can be done as a still MOC with no action, just a pose).
As an added bonus, you may include your opponent's minifigure character since he was captured as well. Just make sure that you both survive. At the deadline, the orcs will decide who will be freed.

A. Sargent vs. Warble Gloaming: 26
-Catapult:
At the Tourney, the guilds display their skill and teamwork in the difficult catapult challenge. Build a MOC depicting you and your fellow guild members competing against the other guilds in order to determine who can construct the best catapult. Please state in your MOC which type of catapult design you based yours on. It doesn’t have to be a working catapult, but we highly recommend it.

Jacob Pennington vs. Lindel Baskin
-Beasts
Not all enemies are the two legged kind. Many different types of beasts roam the land, some no one even knows about. Build some sort of a beast, and have a MOC of your character battling it.
NOTE: This doesn't have to be a real kind of beast, made-up ones are allowed, too. Also, although the beast being made out of minifigure part is allowed, brick-built ones are strongly suggested.

Adam Brunsting vs. Sean B.
- "This ends now!"
Even though Ninjago may not relate too much to medieval times, it's till a cool quote. Portray an action/battle scene where your character has just had enough! Unleash a bit of your character's full potential and blast out your enemies (orcs, beasts, etc would be the best enemies). This can be done as a still scene or as a story. It's up to you, but it should be clear in the still scene that your character is doing something awesome.

I mean, his guy literally ran across a rock, jumped on some rocks, and kept running. I had several people race to the death with several obstacles. Neither judge even mentioned it.

Well, it's a shame that you're out of the running, but at least you lost against one of the best builders on their team :/ Also, and I hate to say this because I know you had such time restraints, but this is a building contest, so most of the judges won't care very much about the story. That's something I, too, have to work on is not to rely to much on the write-up.

Melee:
With George out of the running, Rylie will probably be an easy defeat for either Legotier or Mr. Falcon. I'm guessing that Andrew JN is going to eventually win the Melee bracket, if he can defeat Zach/Uberbricks.

Heraldry:
This will be the second bracket to hurt the Gnomes. With two exceptions, it's all Gnome-on Gnome, so all but two of them will be eliminated before the Tilt.

Wrestling:
This is going to be Infernum and Stephen/Matt/myself. At least two of us will be eliminated; hopefully I can overcome Stephen and Matt, even if I can't stop Infernum in the Tilt.

Foot combat:
Although he's defeatable, Halhi's probably going to advance to the Tilt. If it's Warble vs. Lindel, it's going to be a really close fight- they both have equal building skill and equal photography skills, too. If it's Jacob vs. Lindel, I predict Jacob will win by a hair.

In other words, the Gnomes are going to be difficult to beat, but I think dropouts and the bracketing system are going to work slightly in our favor.

Sorry if I offended you. Halhi is a tough opponent, maybe even the toughest on the Gnomes. There is no shame in losing to him. Especially when you gave it your all and put up a great build like you did.

You need to give it everything you've got, because Adam will, and he's pretty dangerous when he does.

I know not to underestimate him. I plan to add in functions somehow in my future builds, just to give me a little bit of an edge.

Yes, me too! From Grant's judging write-up on Matt's entry, it almost seems that having a theme song and a flaming car helped Matts' score :?

Yeah, I noticed that. And I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see who would win out of you and Matt! So as it stands, we knocked out Matt, David, Ian, Lindel, and George. So 5 Gnomes fell in this round! :D

Ive already defeated Lindel 3-0. I'll be moving on to face Adam Brunsting, whom won't be too difficult. I predict it will be me vs. Halhi for the Foot Combat finals.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

It's alright. And you probably are right. Halhi is going to be tough to beat. If I am going against him, I'm gonna need some input from everyone. How do you post a WIP?

The only thing I would have changed is not to make a white base underneath the floor, because it shows between the angle pieces. It's probably far too late to change that now, though :)

Other than the white on yours and maybe a bit too much texturing on Warble's, I've got nothing. Both of your builds were a big step up from normal, especially Warble's.

I think I went a bit far in textures in response to comments on my last entry being too plain. lol...eventually i'll find a happy medium.

The issue wasn't the textures- the issue was that there were several different colors of textures :)

is this just in regards to the cobblestone?
I suppose it would have been better to have a smaller paved area in one color instead of the wrap around tri-color walkway.

actually looking at it again it's like 6 colors due to having a mixture of greys and bleys.

The judges said they wanted the bracket listed in the intro part of the mocpage, so they know who to judge. Plus, if you have time, you should try to rewrite what got lost.

I think I can beat Stephen, both on in-story difficulty, photo quality, and rockwork- as long as nobody deducts points for my river of blood.

@Thomas: I think you have a legitimate chance of beating him. You both had great rockwork. You had the better story. I don't know why everyone keeps complaining about your blood river. Unless it's bubbling hot, it's going to be a smooth river, especially if its blood. I did like how he crumbled his walls the way he did. But overall, its going to be close. Everyone really stepped up this round, even more than last round.

Yeah, the Melee is all Knights. ~Brick's a good builder, but neither Alex nor Kai are as good as Freeling would have been. I think Toa Infernum can be beaten, since he seems to be repeating the same design again and again. If Steven wins, he'll be pretty formidable, but I think I have a chance. Halhi didn't use his rockwork skills hardly any, and I think Adam actually has a chance at beating him. Last month, I would have picked Jacob to conquer Warble every time, but he's improved so much I can't guess on that one.
