I'm glad to know the new episodes are finally being released, but not all too psyched to see how.

I now get Disney XD which is cool because I can now watch Rebels when it comes, but not Clone Wars because the geniuses at Disney decided to put it only on Netflix.

Alright, I don't get Netflix, and I don't want it. I want a hard copy of those episodes. with Netflix, yes, you can keep stuff, but you have to keep paying to have Netflix where those things you want to keep are saved.

There is no news of if they will be released on DVD because who needs that when you have Netflix! Those people could have aired it on Disney Channel, Disney XD, even ABC! But no, it's only on Netflix as far as we know, so while everyone will watch all 13 episodes on March 7 in the US and Canada, no mention of the other countries either, I will be stuck with only knowing Darth Maul is eternally electricuted by Sidious unless that was also not touched upon in these 13 episodes.

So what do you guys think of this?

I was so excited, however they won't be as popular if they're only on Netflix. Luckily, my dad just purchased Netflix this month.

I am disappointed that you have to keep paying for Netflix to see them. I really hope they come out on disc!

I don't want to wait until March 7th!!!

at least Ahsoka won't be in the last season to ruin it...

I do remember seeing a comment by dave saying, the show began with Ahsoka, and it will end with her, however, I feel that with the quickness that this had to be done, well, relatively quick, she may not be in them. I didn't read what the stories would be about, and I don't want to know. I would rather not see what they do with her. If she returns, she should only be in the EU comics and books. If she returns in Rebels, I hope she is up for the Emperor's slaughterhouse. The most glorious of deaths!

and star wars Rebels.

From what I've heard, it's sounding good. I like that it will just stick with one group of characters, but then again, what if half of them are annoying? I don't want 6 main characters and 3 of them being Ahsokas giving unecessary explainations or quotes that state the obvious.

Again, no word of whether or not we will get camios of characters from the Original Trilogy like Obi-Wan, The Emperor, Vader, Leia, and such, but there is still an entire spring and summer season to wait before the show premieres.

They said they would partially try to avoid jedi. Also, Luke isn't a jedi until really episode 4, so at this time period, he would be a farmer. I think there will be a lot of made up characters, that are not in the episodes. I did see videos with Dave Filoni about some of the characters on that website.
One is a droid made of spare parts that has a mind of its own...
The other is a jedi named like Kannan or something who is scared and doesn't use his lightsaber, he uses a gun.
Then there is a new sith named the Inquisitor, who tries to hunt down the remaining jedi. Really! We want Darth Vader!!!

Well then that makes The Inquisitor a not as interesting character! His job description is to hunt down Jedi. If he is only hunting Kanan and Ezra, that makes a very boring character.

It does, but Anakin and Dooku fighting again? Does nothing those two said to one another in Episode III matter anymore?!

Well, I've seen them all now....

I really liked the clone arc, and the Clovis one was pretty good...those Jar jar episodes, though...UGH. Also not so fond of the Yoda arc - while entertaining to watch, it really doesn't fit well with established canon and is just kind of...weird. It also screwed up Yoda's character a bit...
That one where they discover Sifo-Dyas's lightsaber and investigate his death is pretty good, though, I can accept that as canon. :P

If you like, I can go into greater detail on them, but I'm not sure if everyone's seen them yet and don't want to spoil it. :P

That's been my problem, too. I don't want to spoil stuff, but I want to talk about it. In my video, I talk about them, but I don't go into extreme detail and only talk about the stuff that could have been seen in the previews and trailers.

I understand, I watched all of the episodes a few weeks ago except the last one. I'm saving it!!

Aha! By a little slip on the writers' parts, I can now safely say that the clone wars is non-canon and all the retconning done on its behalf can be ignored.

In Episode 3, when Palpatine exterminates the Jedi via the clones, he opens a comlink to Cody first and says "Commander Cody, the time has come. Execute Order 66." Yes, he said THE TIME HAS COME. That implies the clones were already prepared to kill, already aware of their duty, and were just waiting for the signal. Also, Cody's reaction was very normal, very casual. He said in his standard voice, "it will be done, my lord." (Or something along those lines). No surprise, no weird, intense whisper...just an acknowledgement.

NOW. In The Lost Missions, when Tup malfunctioned and shot Master Tiplar, something happened. He went into a trance-like state and began whispering "Good soldiers follow orders." in a low, intense voice. He became aware of literally nothing but the Jedi. Later, after he was detained, he kept repeating that phrase. His eyes were rolling, he was moving jerkily, and he shouted and lunged for the next Jedi he saw. Soon after, he died. It was discovered then that a Biochip was placed in the heads of clones that MADE them execute order 66, whether they wanted to or not. The clones knew nothing about Order 66 or the Biochip, and just acted like robots when it was activated. Because Tup's malfunctioned, it clearly made him act strangely, but the trance-like state he was in looked like the standard for all clones with activated Chips, malfunctioning or not, because it got the job done and got it done efficiently.

So consider this. Cody acted perfectly normal after hearing Palpatine state "Order 66", and Palpatine had acted like the clones were already well aware of it. That directly contradicts the Clone Wars, in which the clones know nothing about the order and go into a trance when they hear it. Therefore, it is safe to assume the Clone Wars is non-canon. Star Wars is saved! HOORAY!

...don't get me wrong, I like a lot of things about the show. Just the retconning and Ahsoka make me glad I can prove it as non-canon. :P

I will make a counter argument. Tup's chip malfunctioned. It was corrupted by a dying battery or too much damage of his brain sloshing around in battle to make one thing start leaking acid or whatever making messages not be relayed correctly.

The chip was there to make them not question orders, not go crazy, but only when the chips were performing properly. Also, these chips that have been put in these clones could have been inferior to what could have been placed in them.

It is also entirely possible that between the time of that story and Episode III, they could have gathered all clones and rewired the chips to make them respond differently. While there are many clones, you also would only need those with ranks above a certain margin; say anyone that is a Sargent or higher; anyone that would have a better chance of knowing their General on a more personal level.

Because of the inferior chips, they were asked to meet at Kamino (Not all at the same time, that would be crazy, but over time) and they are told of what happened to Tup. A message that told him to kill the jedi was found on his chip. With some research, it was found to be on all chips and while not likely to be given as an but in order to maintain control, the higher ranking members who could have better control over their troops were being asked to come in and receive an updated chip so as not to creat chaos by a higher ranking officer; I mean it is all in teh best interest of the Republic. Obviously the clones are being lied to about the whole jedi killing part, but they are the guys who become the idoit first Stormtroopers (Just watch Episode III, as soon as they are the "bad guys" they can't aim. Even in Season 5's Finale against Asajj and Ahsoka, their guns are set at stun adn they miss or just don't shoot.) so clearly, while being superior to droids, they still aren't overly smart since they are also hardwired to not be as smart as the original host.

The updated chips have a new message that when Palpatine gives the message "Order 66" the chip also sends a radio signal that activates all the other chips that were updated about Order 66. This means that all of the head nodding that is going on in Episode III is all done by those with enhanced chips who know what is going on.

Because these Clones are in higher command, they tell the other Clones that the Jedi have been revealed as enemies of the Republic, the ones who started the war with Count Dooku forming the Seperaists and the Jedi creating the clones. Becuase Palpatine was all behind this, the lies makes logical sense and we have everything coexisting and making sense, younglings get slaughtered, speeder bikes crash, ships explode, the Empire rises.

Because we never had any stories after these and becuse anything that is EU outside of Clone Wars is now nolonger canon, this is entirely possible until it is stated otherwise, and officially, not.
