Round 1 will start on November 15th

Upload a MOC that is a "screenshot" in Lego from your favorite Youtube video! Only upload a shot from an original video. Do not upload a MOC from a feature film or music video that you found on Youtube. Vines, however, are allowed :P.

Provide a link to the group homepage and to the Youtube video. Also provide the specific time in the video that the screenshot is taken from. DO NOT provide a link or time to something that could possibly be considered offensive. If the whole video, not just the link, has something questionable in it, add the warning message to your MOC before uploading.

As always, only new MOCs built after November 15 at 12:00 AM will be accepted.

Round one will be an elimination round, eliminating all users down to the highest exponent of two possible.

Creations will be judged in the following way:
10 points for detail: Your model is well built and detailed, using advanced techniques and creative methods.
5 points for accuracy: Your model correctly and dynamically portrays a funny or iconic Youtube moment.
5 Points for presentation: you have uploaded a creation that is not inappropriate, has good pictures, and uses good grammar.

In your title, you must have "1st YouTube MOCing Conpetition Round [number] [title]"

In the introduction, put "My entry to the 1st annual YouTube MOCing competition. "

In the body, put a link to the group home page, your category (for future rounds; the first round doesn't have a category), and then whatever you want. Have many and good pictures!

Does it have to be your own video and moc, or can we enter someone else's?

Thanks for the invite, but I'm afraid I'm too busy right now. Looks very interesting, though--I'm excited to see what entries come out of this!

Whatever video that has been FIRST published on Youtube besides vines, not necessarily yours. The MOC has to be yours.

Thanks much for the invite. This looks like a really interesting contest, but I'm afraid I'm really not going to have the time for more than one contest right now. If I don't make it to the next Round in the contest I'm in, I may find the time to join this, but for now, I don't see myself participating. Again, thanks for the invite, this is a very original contest, and I look forward to seeing the entries!

Ok, what if there isn't a scene, but the person describes it, so you build what he describes. Would that be allowed?

I join! And I am going to say now that guys, if you are in the Brickbattles, Brickathon or any of those, I mean, all the contests that I am in end on the 14th or 15th. But I am going for the weekend on the 15th and won't be able to build. When does the round end?

So we can't start building yet, right? Not until the 15th. I would've advised not putting out what we are building before the round starts, as some people have probably already started building.

It just has to be anything first posted on YouTube, so you couldn't build straight out of the movie, but if you wanted to build an interpretation, then go right ahead.

Yes, I guess I would allow that.

But movie trailers aren't first published on YouTube. That would basically be a bunch 3 second movie clips compressed into a 3-4 minute video? So, why do allow that, but not a movie scene. I'm not trying to change your mind about allowing the movie scene screenshots, but this is just really confusing to me.

Also, I may not be able to make an entry for this, as I cannot find an original video that I can screenshot in lego.

Well, outside of a theater, the main medium of release for trailers is YouTube, while movies are also on DVD and shouldn't really be on YouTube.

I'm going to hold off posting, I don't want to win by default. You should extend the deadline and I'll see if I can advertise it within some of my groups. If you donít agree I'll gladly post tomorrow (14th) but I can't really stay up and wait for a response. I've got an ACT tomorrow morning...
