Quoting Mark McPeek
He's amazing! You are, in my opinion, the best 14 year old Mosaic builder in the world! One of the best TFOL's as well!
Thank you Mark!! I only do black and white because I find that the easiest. Like the batman one, I really imagine and visualize what would be a one-by-one and how it would blend in. Kind of like pencil drawing. But my sister says there is a method that you can convert a picture to pixels, so I thought that sounded interesting. I might try it for Hobbes. Permalink
Quoting Abby Francis
So guys, a lot of you have seen my "Splash of Color" pieces and want some more. WELL, I was kind of only planning on making two and I am out of ideas. Can any of you guys help out?
Tough one Abby. Isolation is a multilayered and subjective study that is based primarily on your own experience. What I would consider isolation may not be the same for others. In your 2 vigs, you managed to reach a common, relatable thread with a wonderfully elegant and simple style. We all might be able to come up with a spark, but what you do with it is what intrigues me the most. Art is your own voice and reaction and it is above all the process. It's more important to me to follow your progress in the matter. What gets you to the next piece is truly fascinating.
I'll think about some possibilities, see what shakes loose in the ol' noggin. Another idea would be to look at the past sources. Other Art and interpretations that strike a chord with you. Check out literature as well. I read on your homepage that you love the Percy Jackson stories. Use the imagery there to understand your own interpretation of isolationism.
More than you communicating with us through your vigs, this is more of a communication with yourself to "define" your vision. Run with it. Let it lead you. And do NOT be afraid of where it goes. Above all, have fun!
We'll see about some sparks we can all throw your way. ;) Permalink
