 Group admin
Congratulations Abby and Graham!

Welcome to the final round of the 2013 Brick Battle Games!

Well done to Ieuan and Caleb as well. All of you put on a great show, but in the end it was Graham and Abby that came out still "swingin'".

Abby, Graham, sharpen your swords and polish your armor, because Round 5 is now in full swing!

Requirements for Round 5:

The Finals (Round 5) begin(s) now (January 4th and will end in one month, February 4th, at 12:00AM (EST) you must have your creations in the group by then or you will be disqualified (DQ).

Please title your entry: 2013 BrickBattle Games Round 5 (or 2013 BrickBattle Games FINALS): [Your name] vs [Your Opponent's name]

Please include working links to your opponent's homepage, the group, OR your opponent's entry (if you enter second in your matchup).

And the moment you've all been waiting for! The category for the Final Round!

Graham Gidman vs Abby Francis

Category: "The Last Stand (or the Last Battle)": Well this is it, it has all come down to this! Build a scene showing your forces making a "final stand" against the enemy horde. This can be a castle defense or defending a military base.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS FOR Round 5:

1. Choose one of the following combat categories:

- Castle/Medieval Combat
- Modern (WII-present) Combat
- Futuristic Combat

2. Your entries MUST include the following:

- A MINIMUM of 7 minifigures
- A MINIMUM of one defensive structure
- A MINIMUM of one siege vehicle
- At least 18 studs of landscaping

3. PLEASE NOTE: Your entries MUST be a MINIMUM of 52x52 (or 64x64), no maximum size limit.

---

Actually, this sounds like the most fun category yet. :) Oh, two more things, though... My biggest baseplate is only 48x48, do I just extend it? And what does eighteen studs of landscaping mean?

1. Yes, you would need to extend it, sorry.

2. "The 18 studs of landscaping" means that of the total amount of studs used for your entry, at least 18 of them must be used for some kind landscaping.

Make sense?

Graham, buddy, Legolightning10, I do believe you'll win.

By the way, I'd like to donate a special prize to the winner, now that we are here. It will be a mystery bag of little Lego goodies for the victorious winner!

Now of course, my the best builder win. Good luck, Abby and Graham!

Wow, thanks for the confidence, but I'm not so sure I'll win, Abby is a tough competitor.

A little bag of goodies? That's very generous of you, though, I would ask RBC about it first. :)

RBC, just out of curiosity, why did you pick 52x52 instead of a more common size like 48x48 or 64x64?

Okay, I have a question on how I could make the base, does it have to be exactly 52x52, or does it just have to be at least the area of 2704 studs (which is the amount of studs that is in a 52x52 baseplate). For example, a 48x60 baseplate would have 2880 studs which is more than 2704, so would that count?

Yes, absolutely. It doesn't necessarily have to be exactly 52x52, as long as it's bigger than a 48x48 baseplate you'll be fine. If it is an irregular base or a custom base, then please include the width and length of the base(plate). If you use a official baseplate that is bigger than 48x48, then please include a link to the part/plate you used, so that the judges can confirm that your entry meets the size requirements.

Thanks!

Eh, it's not going that bad, I guess. I've been having trouble with the base, and no good ideas have come to me, I mean, I've got good ideas, but most of them require too many pieces or just don't fit the category. But I'm still working on it, I'm not just gonna let you run away with first prize. :)

No not necessarily, but the emphasis should be on "making a final stand". For example you could show the good forces being surrounded by enemies, and fighting "for there lives".

So for the "18 studs of landscaping" thing, does that mean that my landscaping has to take up at least 18 studs or places on the baseplate? Like if a tree trunk is 4x4, that would mean I have 16 of those studs already? Do you get what I am asking?
