Neither is fragile, but if your cat is going to knock it off a shelf, I'd go with the MTT.

It's kind of fragile. If you grip too hard on the top (where the droid storage is), it breaks (And often falls to the floor). The wings CAN fall off, do NOT shake the gunship too much. And the cockpit normally can't be opened without the glass falling off.

That's pretty much all that's fragile.

Use the switch in the back.
If you're going to open the doors by hand, they have a high chance of falling off if you don't "follow the brick".

I had a bionicle set was like that I throw the broken parts and used replacement parts.

I missed out on the original sets so I jumped on both the new ones. I don't find much wrong with the gunship, except its shape could be more accurate, but it is plenty strong enough, and big. The at-te is just ok. Its sturdy, but you can't do much with it, and the legs can't move much. the new mtt has good value because of minifigs. I was underwhelmed by the at-te, but I think all the sets you mentioned are ok as far as strength goes.
