Projects: Naval platforms

Alright this topics is about the proposed island naval platform I'm working on. Now this project is going to be the largest I've ever worked on (opposed to my supersub) it will also be used as either a defense platform or as a miniature city to house communities (scientists, engineers ect) or even as a dedicated shipyard (or combined with both for that matter:). The platform itself is rather huge dwarfing any supercarriers of average sizes but we can make different series of any role you prefer).

So post your thoughts. Have a nice day.

i personally think that this floating island fortress is a bad idea. its big and heavy you can just gather a fleet of ships spam the base with missiles and then your dead. your resources would be much better spent on average size naval vessels. which can increase your naval fleets over all effectiveness.

A fixed structure is always extremely vulnerable for a lack of mobility. I suggest transport subs for rapid evac. I also think the size you propose is unrealistic. I would suggest smaller platforms, each one with a dedicated purpose (shipyard, R&D lab, barracks, airstrip, etc.) and some even smaller ones to surround the main complex (many platforms but together) to be purely defensive batteries. I do suggest submerged bunkers and/or rapid egress transport subs in the even the facility is over-run.

I was thinking of smaller ones as well not just some giant heavy island. I'll post some examples later.

Some examples and possibly a file to work on would help.

Well the platforms will be released possibly by this weekend. I'll give you a file then and see what kind of improvements could be added.
