Can you please do me a HUGE favor and add the Humongous group in a topic? You don't have to.

1. I think it would be better for our group alliance

2. It would benefit the people trying to get to my group from your group

Remember, you don't have to do it, but if you did, I would be extremely grateful to you.

Look, I made you Admin to help spawn an alliance. I would prefer if YOU did the things you suggested; I will back it up. I really want to form an alliance as well, I can't think of a better group to ally with. Whatever you feel is good, please do that! I look forward to a "rosy" future, uh, uh. Yeah!

Here some ideas for the future, I think we have plenty of debates going right now.

1. Chime vs Ninjago
2. Religion
3. Will LEGO ever bring back LU are something like it?

It seems that the USA took a page from Italy's book, and big business is starting to push laws in order to stop legal action

Just remember that we did it first.
Joking aside, it's quite a worrisome trend for a country that's been losing civil rights faster than I'm losing hair.

Both arguments are actual and intriguing.

Dear Lord, strike thee down who hath proposed this idea!

I want to see one about China invading the US (I do have evidence that it may be coming soon, don't doubt me).

If we do those, I'd hope that the religion card is not thrown day 1. I know it will come up on these topics (right up there with ethics) but if that comes in right out the bat, any and all scientific reasoning may be ignored. I do want to get into a cloning debate though. That would be fun to do if it doesn't become entirely religion based.

Oh here we go! Murder implies that there is a human victim which brings up the most important question: At what point do we draw the line between mass of cells and human being? Is it at conception, when the fetus gets a heartbeat, or when it actually starts to resemble a person?

If something bleeds, it's alive.

Besides, it's not too far a leap from killing someone at the start of their life to killing them because the END of their life is taking too long for your comfort.

We were discussing at what point to call it HUMAN not alive.
Caterpillars turn into butterflies. if you squash a caterpillar, are you committing butterfly homicide?
Point I am trying to make is that boundary line is different for everyone and thus the ehtics problems come in due to the disagreements over that line. Sooner people can come to an agreement over where that point is, the soo . . . wait a minute, are we talking about birth control or have you turned this into an abortion battle?

Leaving out the fact that homicide, by definition, involves a human, yes. It's a teeny-tiny baby. If it's alive, it's human.

The one is pretty much the other, these days.
Unless you're trying to antagonize Catholics, there's not much point starting a 'conversation' about condoms and hormone tablets.

Sort of like starting a thread about the "You can't say that!" brigade. Nobody LIKES them, and they certainly haven't accomplished anything beyond stoking the flames and moving them to forums where they can't be suppressed.

point being, abortion and birth control are radically different issues when you get into the ethics of it. The root may be the same but they differ a lot from there. With birth control, even the most delayed form, morning after pill, you cant call it murder because, as you said, a tiny ball of cells, usually less than 10, doesn't bleed and, by your definition, is therefore not alive.

And is not something, therefore, that it's possible to argue about.

It's a bit like arguing over whether people should be able to leave their houses without informing their KGB minder.

If you want to talk about what situations make killing people moral, I'd really prefer you say that instead of suggesting 'birth control' when you know it's going to lead to abortion because there's nowhere else for it to go.

Thats what I am concerned about. I, personally, was afraid of opening up a Birth Control debate, as that could get messy. I say we let the masses decide, and cater to the best of our abilities. Really, though, if we just have a general "religion" thread, it will turn into a Christian group hang out.

This is what I propose: maybe have a creation topic, and keep everything in check. I would like to see more than just a Christian point of view here, so. Also, I would like to make sure that this group doesn't turn into just a religion group; we can have religion topics, but also other topics as well. Anyone care for a Zimmerman-Martin debate?

It isn't a "should we have guns" issue, it's a who's at fault.

That's not a bad idea, just less specific than a fighter.

Debate topic: Is it OK to use objects that were not manufactured as plastic building blocks as part of a MOC? Example: wires, string, nails, wood.

So, basically, what is legal/illegal in building MOCs? Sounds good to me. I think I will most likely expand the idea, though, as it kinda focuses on one idea rather than a large topic. Don't worry, though, I will see to it that this thread is made.
