Noooo of course not, only for people who haven't seen it yet! It probably would be my most popular if my S7 didn't have so many multiple ratings and my Corvette didn't get MOTD!

It was mostly you anyway! ;) I just worked out that if everyone only rated once, it would be on 75 - exactly the same as my F50!

I only did it 6 times! ;) I didn't realize putting the I like it button on again would add a like, until a few months ago, that should be fixed so you can only rate it once.

Haha I most of your comments were totally unrelated to it anyway, you were just telling me about your new creations ;) Anyway, 15 extra likes isn't as bad as some! Look at this, it should really be on about 30! http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/71331

Yeah that's bad. I've seen that before when you commented on it.

Agree with that, we can conclude that MocPages is kind of unfair when the matter is likes. Not only a matter of multiple likes, but some people really crack their ratings to get a big number. Or even the worst, some people vallues too much some small creations and don't give attention to the best Mocs. How can Slipzz's Murciélago have 54 likes and Smokie Smokie's Reventón V.2 get only 10? that's not nice.

It could be because it's a site designed for people to interact with one another rather than compete for smilies...

Spot on S.C

MOCpages used to have an out-of-five-system where every MOCs score out of 5 as an average (e.g 3.8) was shown, like Amazon or eBay, but as kiddies got ultra competitive and nasty Sean swapped it for only showing 4 and 5 out of 5s, and labelling them 'likes', to stop the fights.

I ignore this, and rate each MOC out of 5 as if the old system was still in place, and I put the 'out-of-five' in the comment text too.

For me there's almost no way any 4-wide car will ever get a 5/5 because that would be saying it's as good a 20-wide DeTomaso/Senator/Nick B masterpiece. It's very simple, 5/5 is 'Excellent, and 1/5 is 'Poor'.

Because I think I'm right, I suggest everyone adopts an 'out-of-five' rating system, and says so in the comment. A 4-wide Tiny Turbo using 30 parts is unlikely to get more than a 2 or 3 out of 5 from me.... although I might still 'like' it.

...And when a WIP or a 'Here's what I'm building next' gets a 5/5 rating from someone I die a little inside. Why would you give a WIP a 5/5?! They wouldn't need to finish it if it was already perfect!!

Well said, Senator. I'm very glad that no creations of mine have ever been spammed, and I agree with Ape's point above, with the proviso that there is such a thing as an exceptional 4-wide - Starscream Soundwave and Angka Utama are two names that spring to mind.

Yes, there are always exceptions. But another LDD 'Lamborghini'? Sorry, no way. 2 stars at best.

That would be sweet to see, if it looked like a GT. We're not having a pop at LDD builders - your work is great, for instance - but it does take a particular brilliance to make a convincing 4-wide and very few people have it (I certainly don't).

Agreed. It's only when people expect another 'I like it' for yet another 4-wide that looks the same as the last one.... I think 5 stars should be for truly great MOCs, not 'filler'

And in that case, I feel very proud that my four wides have received an 'I like it' off you :)

haha, it seems Ape is very critical when it comes to rating a MOC :-) Just wondering, how would you rate most of my MOCs Ape? I don't think I've gotten a comment from you in ages. And I would assume there is some points taken of for LDD, so how would you rate them both LDD and if they were real bricks instead?

TLNIA: Yeh, I normally make it harder for LDD to get high ratings as whilst LDD does take skill, there is an unlimited pallet of bricks so it is easier. Your Aston for example, probably a 3 in LDD (meaning 'good'), and 4, maybe 5 in real bricks.

for me, 1 'I like it' from a builder I respect (or even a 3) where I know they value my MOC, is worth more than 100 'I like its' from people who give 5 stars to every MOC in the hope they'll get the same back : )

The rating system is pretty meaningless if it's just for giving full marks to everything!

Well there are techniques that you can't do in LDD, it limits you to only 'legal' ones, and you can't really do anything with flex tube ;)

You're starting to make me think that i should be a bit more critical while rating...

Lol, yeh I bet flex tube is hard, but I'm useless with it even in real bricks!!

I think we should all use the rating system properly, it's how we become better builders : )

The only thing i really use flex tube for (in real bricks only) is for windshields, it looks much better than a whole plate's width. I assume i'll also use it for roll cages if I need.
