That was definitely the peak of Sean Young's career, and hotness. Daryl Hannah wasn't too bad either, even in clown makeup.

Did you get your precious photos?...

Wake up! Time to die.

Pris AND Zhora, Joanna Cassidy wasn't too bad either, plus we got to see a little more of her. =O It was also the height of Rutger's career as well. Have you seen Hobo with a Shotgun? I actually enjoyed it, but it is definitely WAY beneath this work.

The number of bad films he's done definitely outweighs the good. Hobo was a little gonzo for me, a little too...youth energy drink / crystal methy? If that makes any sense. I liked the opening credits the most, then it was kind of downhill. The trailer was the best part.

Have you seen Blood of Heroes? The post-apocalyptic sports movie he was in where the object is to put a dog-skull on a stake? Really good stuff...and Joan Chen.

Twin Peaks Joan Chen. Mmmmmm. I vaguely remember it but only for Joan and Rutger. I may have been slightly chemically altered then. Late 80's if I remember right. Tried to be like Rollerball without the skates.

General Ian.

Unique and illegal. No helicopters in DA except as aircraft on water craft. It was discussed weeks ago on the threads. Sorry man.

I like the build, but others have already been told "No Dice" to helicopters.

A fighter is a fighter. It's a fixed wing aircraft with a single engine, be it prop or jet.

Re-read the rules man. And again, sorry about giving your work the boot, but it's the same rules for everybody.

Ok, Christmas comes early this week, the A8 results are available and the map is updated on the main page.

2 more players went down and more potentially critical ORBAT mistakes were made. There was one really close battle between Generals Creatori and Squid, that was nice to see. A very interesting turn overall. As usual, if you have a gripe or concern, take it to the questions thread. I won't be around much tomorrow though. The ORBAT and T.O. Threads will unlock Monday morning.

Wow. Really quick work! Thanks very much.

General X.

Looks to me like General Bacca isn't a quitter.

We have had a few of those (quitters). The outlook is bleak. The potential for rapid growth has disappeared... It takes determination and patients to stay the course in such times. Some of our generals have slipped quietly out the back door without so much as a fare thee well. Others have been torn from the map in spasms of savage aggression. Fighting to the bitter end, defeat for these commanders does not diminish their honor, but rather confirms it.

Somehow I think it is going to take more than a casual invitation to get General Bacca off the map.

You want Bacca gone? You are going to have to scrape him off the map like a barnacle.

Bacca didn't start late, and overcome initial difficulties just so he could turn around and quit. He joined so he could fight.

Good luck getting him to simply shuffle off the stage.

The following is a Decisive News Special "News on the run!" Segment:

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I'm DAN correspondent Dean Venture, and I have just spotted the famous South American War Lord General McLegofreak exiting a Dairy Queen here in down town Terra Del Fuego. It looks like he has purchased a delicious peanut parfait...and...yes, it's confirmed, he has a burger and fries as well. I'll see if he will speak to us...

General McLegofreak! General... DAN Correspondent Dean Venture, Can you tell us sir, now that you control Terrera Del Fuego, and your logistics power has been validated... What can the world expect from your nation in the next AW?

Is it to be a crusade against your old enemies in House Hammond? Or is it to be a move against the collapsed regime of deposed General Haydon?

Also, after your apparently scrumptious lunch at Dairy Queen, what do you anticipate having for dinner tonight?

GINN Reporting:

Direct from our new studios in Denver, capitol of the Colorado Constitutional Republic (CCR)

A new constitutional convention has been convened and a new Constitution has been completed. There are those who complain that the CCR has too close of ties to our treaty allies and that we are little more than a client state to power mongers like Glomshire. But this small minority is marginal due to its former support for the past coup and illegal transference of power. Perhaps the ideas the Imperator and her supporters represented were correct and it was time for the oligarchy to fall, but it was inappropriate for it to occur with the force of arms. Currently, however, the convention has ceded a document and voting by the various CCR voting blocks to either accept or reject the new constitution will take place next week. The return of democratic process and electoral rights has been lauded by many nations around the globe.

The Clash Of The Warrior Poets.

The pen is mightier than the sword,
But who will have the final word?
Two generals, fighting hard,
To determine the ruler of the world;
With pen and paper they clash for fame,
To throw the other down again;
Who will the victor be,
General X or rowntree?
The battle goes on, no end in sight,
The generals will continue to fight;
Until a victor has been decided,
They will always be divided.

A little Terza Rima, Dante style.

Two boisterous Princes in the night
putting on airs, a show for their clans.
A duel to the death is par for the fight.

They are both unaware they are each others fans,
yet they both partake of this obnoxious drink,
posturing and promising to kick each others cans.

It should all make the viewer think.
What has poetry to do with war?
And why would a six foot five Ohioan shrink?

Of these Princes only one will soar.
To this end, everyone shall see.
Until then we will pen smack to bore.

If X marks the spot for a winner to be,
we shall find that this mark lies under a Tree.

(I honestly like you X. You're making this fun. BTW check your meter in the Tanka.)

My pleasure. :) I see what you mean, the first line has 6 syllables.

I'd have gone with "Mister rowntree hides", reducing me from general to commoner. Or some play on my last name, it is rather ripe for a dandy pun. A tree with no "bark".

Keep it up, the smack has dropped off drastically in the past few weeks. And the aspect of poetry has stretched the old brain muscle back from atrophy. I drooled less last night. ;) Thanks X.

Perhaps you should make like a rownTree and leave...
Your immature attempts at poetry make me suspect that you're a not yet fully grownTree.

There ya go! Name play works. Let's get back in the swing. Try this one.

We here in Primal Scream,
to great effect it would seem,
view STUDS as a list
of future revanchists
that know victory is merely a dream.

Eh? Get it? Go on give it a try. It's a hoot. I think X is on to something here.

If X marks the spot for a winner to be,
we shall find that this mark lies under a Tree.

King rowntRee.

That line was actually pretty good!

The pun is strong in this one...

Reach out with your feelings Luke... use the pun!

My god! It's full of Smack!

It's a virtual Smack Blossom! Here amongst the windblown sands in the desert of anger... Smack blooms eternal...
