Gringat's First: Rules
 Group admin
Following are all the rules for the first Repugnant contest: Parody MOC! I'm keeping these as updated as possible until the deadline, which is the 6th of March!

1: Only one individual MOC per contestant. A set of six, or say a rider and his mount would break this rule, even if they shared a page.

2: Suggested size is 300pcs or smaller. Going over a little is allowed, but frowned upon. This is because smaller, more detailed MOCs are preferred, and I do not want people to treat their entries as large-scale time-consuming projects.

3: Do not treat your entry as a large-scale time-consuming project. 2-3 hours' work should be enough.

4: The MOC must be technic based, but you can use any lego parts available to you on the entry.

5: A description of the MOC is required. It need not be very long, but if the joke behind the entry isn't clear, the description will help.

-Bonus Points-

- For 5 bonus points, come up with your own idea for the MOC, instead of using one of my suggestions or copying something else.

- 5pt for an emotive facial expression, and 10pt for the capacity to change the facial expression.

-The bonus for shoulder/waist articulation has been retconned, because entries need not be humanoid.

The MOC will be rated out of ten for three criteria: Creativity of Design, Creativity of Concept, and Build Skill.

Uh, Gringat, my current unposed MOC is a rider and his vehicle, but they function as only one MOC, as in the rider is connected to the vehicle with technic pins and such. Would this be allowed?

Not really. Sorry. :/

Hmm, no mounts huh? I'm guessing a hoverboard isn't allowed. How's a jetpack/heli suit?

If jets/propellors are integrated into the MOC itself, then yes. If it's a separate, standalone entity, then no.

what about a board that is permantly attached to, say, his feet, as some sort of upgrade etc.

You're skirting it very closely I think. I don't want to see people uploading more than one MOC, but obviously weapons and tools and things are fine. So long as the board is a recognisable tool of the MOC's, it's fine.

I'm just uploading my entry by the way. It's well under the 300 part limit, and hopefully the concept is funny. I covered the origional idea bonus, and would have covered the Waist/shoulder bonus IF IT STILL EXISTED!!!! But yeah, I'm not sure that this is the greatest thing I posibly could have done, and I'm sure it wont win, but I quite like it myself. We'll have to see what you think.

Yeah, I'm sorry about the trouble there, but as it says above, since entries aren't required to be humanoid it's not really fair to enforce that particular bonus.

You said it must be technic-based. Does that mean Hero Factory ball-and-socket based creations aren't allowed?

It should be, HF and Bionicle are sub-themes of Technic.

Bionicle used to be, but Hero Factory never was.

Whether or not they bear the word "technic" on the box, they still rely on axles, pins, liftarms and balljoints. You're fine to make a purely HF build if you want.

Good news: I have an idea for the contest and I have start to build it.

Bad news: I won't have enough parts or time to finish it before the deadline. Let's see if I manage to do it.

You've got more time than you think. The uploading problem is an issue with MOCpages itself, and the contest is effectively "paused" until the issue is fixed. The contest will resume as soon as MOCpages' pictures and uploader work again, and the deadline will be 3 days after that.

Not to be mean, but then I hope the page will be fixed atfer two weeks... It's since that moment I have a bit of free time xD

Okay! The pages are back to normal, which means the contest is back on as normal! Well, almost. Instead of three days, I'm putting the deadline 4 days away - 14th March. The reason for the extra day is so I have time to work on a gigantic essay I'm working on right now. The deadline for that marks the beginning of my easter holiday, so, yes! More time for MOCing! :)

Post your entry before 11:59pmUTC on the 14th of March. Judging and results should be up on the 15th, along with the next contest :)

No you cannot. That's completely against the rules.

I'm sorry to have, but I'm having problems with the uploader again. I can give you a basic description and a picture while I'm trying to upload it there though.

Name: XT14
Description: Basically, the XT's are a crime family, XT14 is the head of said family and is therefore the local Von (a term named after the infamous Von Nebula) of the planet Mechna.
