Gringat's First Repugnant Contest!
 Group admin
PARODY MOC

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is as follows: Create a MOC that exists as a ridiculous parody of something bionicle or Hero Factory related. Examples are things like;

-Vezoff, Vezon's other brother
-Talu, Toa of Dihydrogen Monoxide (a very dangerous chemical known to rust iron, eat away at rocks, and cause hundreds of deaths by inhalation every year)!
-A version of Furno 2.0 with even bigger glasses
-A cheesy caricature of your own self-MOC

Feel free to come up with your own. You don't have to use those!

Only one MOC per entry, and only one entry per contestant, please. I'm not looking for a masterpiece here. A couple of hours' MOCing, perhaps. There shall be a 300 piece limit, and the entry must be shorter than you are. System pieces are permitted. I'll impose a deadline when I see enough participants, but it won't be that far away, I should think.

Bonus points will be allocated if any of the following criteria are met:
1: You come up with your own idea for the MOC
2: Emotive facial expressions

Points will be DEDUCTED if you don't enter the contest.

Have fun! :)

Ok! The plan is now to officially begin this thing tomorrow (the 20th of Feb), and have a span of 2 weeks before it closes again on the 6th of March! On the 6-7th of March there will be a second contest put here, again only being small scale and fun :)
If this runs overtime a little, the 2nd one's still gonna go off on the 6th.

Have fun everyone :)

Is the 300 part thing an absolute requirement? Because I never ever count parts. I just build and what ever I used is what I used.

Also, are we working towards a grand prize or is this just for gits and shiggles?

Sounds fun. But I'm with Dave, is the 300 piece limit a deal breaker?
| February 19, 2013, 6:51 am
Question: Is this like a "tournament" where after the first one, only a few move onto the next round ? Or are they just little contests each month or so ? I'm undecided about entering, but I know there will be some great entries !

That's true.

That theme should've been in the BCBS, it's totally amazing. I would like to enter, however, I got a question first. Do we have to participate every month? Oh, and I would like this to be just for fun, just something you can take part in if you like. With many more fun themes!

I joined only because I'm not decliving the invitation, but I don't guarantee I'm going to enter. Although I want to, you should know how the University's life is, Gringat. If I get the time and the idea, I'll enter.

P.S: I laughed a lot with the 'your entry must be shorter than you' rule xDD

The idea behind this group is that I have a ragtag group of MOCists here on the 'pages in my own group. There will ALWAYS be a contest running, and each one is separate. You can enter as many or as few as you like.

I'd prefer it if you stayed below 300, yes. This isn't a large-scale contest, and I don't want people to overpower other entrants with more limited collections. If you have to go over 300 you won't be penalised, though.

No grand prizes I'm afraid. Firstly, I don't really have the capacity to give them here at Uni, and secondly the contests are pretty small scale as contests go. I'd rather have a lot of smaller entries from a lot of people than a few pieces of pure art from a handful of MOCers.
Note that I MAY be hosting some very special contests in future which tie in with holidays. These will have material prizes, like masks and custom weapons I've made. This contest is more normal, though, and is indeed for gits and shiggles. :)

This contest group/series is actually an old idea of mine I stifled when the BCBS appeared, because it was so similar. The contests are actually Bi-weekly (with capacity for a little overlap). You can enter as many as you want, whenever you feel like it.

I know that feels. As you know, I'm a student myself. That's part of the reason I'm hosting this group; I can't MOC as much.

The 6th of March, as written above.
Also, if you plan on making your brother's self MOC, make sure to "poke fun" at it. A high-fidelity revamp/version of it wouldn't be as per the contest's rules.

Is it alright if we use these MOCs for other stuff? Like, the idea I have for my entry would be able to be used in a series I'm working on, so, could I use mine for that?

You guys are gonna laugh at my entry :P. Its my first ever bionicle MOC, so its barely eligible as one. I will enter it, nevertheless. As soon as I actually take pictures.

You don't need to upload the MOC to MOCpages to enter, as wierd as it sounds. You can upload to Flickr, Brickshelf, DeviantArt, Facebook, etc. So long as you give a link to the MOC's pictures in the entry thread, it's good to go. :)
