You can discuss different designs and PU here. I'll start us off: does anyone have any advice on how to make custom torsos? I've found that a good method is to construct a basic frame, and then flesh it out with some armor.

That's generally a good way to go. If you start with the idea that you have to have five balljoints (Neck, waist and shoulders), and then get an idea of what size your fig's going to be. After that, you can add armour, greebles, anything. I acctually used an Inika chest piece as the base of Reaper's torso. You would't believe it, but it's all held together by a gunmetal grey Inika chest piece.

That's a good route to take another is to make the frame and the armor dependent on each other, basically by making the armor help complete the frame and vice versa.
