There is NO sign-up thread. Instead, anyone can join as long as he or she submits his or her entry before the deadline. Of course, all of the rules must be followed as well.
This contest consists of 3 rounds. There is a total of 6 categories.
Round 1 will have 1 category for everyone who wants to join.
Round 2 will have 4 categories.
Round 3 will have 1 category for all those who make it here.
The categories for rounds 2 will not be released until “iBRC Round 2 Rules” thread is released.
The category for round 3 will not be released until “iBRC Round 3 Rules” thread is released.
Here is how advancing and category split-ups work.
50% of the people who enter round 1 will move on to round two.
If there are 16 people in round 1, 8 of them will move to round two.
If there are 17 people in round 1, 8 of them will move to round 2.
If there are 15 people in round 1, 8 people will move to round 2.
If 24 people are in round 1, 12 people will move to round 2.
Here is a hypothetical situation for those who make it to round 2:
These are the 8 people:
Then we split up those 8 people like this:
A vs. H: gets category 2
B vs. G: gets category 3
C vs. F: gets category 4
D vs. E: gets category 5
Only half of those people will move on to the final round. So let's say that A B F and D move on to round 3. They were able to do this because they beat their opponent by receiving 4 votes on his or her entry.
The judging for rounds 1 and 3 are the same. Whoever has the highest score in round 3 will be the winner!
Note: if there are any ties in ANY of the rounds, the tie-breaker judge will break the tie by voting on which creation he thinks is better. Permalink
