Well this was a major failure, with only 6 people posting in and it's only a few days over the deadline.
I don't actually know how to close the group down but it will no longer be active so rememebr to leave this group so you don't have it as space usage in your groups areas.

Well, I might've entered, I even had an idea, but I was just too crunched for time and pieces. School is back with full force and there is a lot of other stuff going on in my life currently so my time is just *poof* gone. Oh well, you tried good Fen. :)

You give up so quickly, dear! As you said, there're still some days. Maybe you won't get 60 entries, but you can still get 15 or more. I was waiting for a response for my question in order to put my entry, for example. It's true that this is a bad moment for a contest (back to school, MOColympics, etc), however other groups are still working with less entries. Well, it's your choice. I hope you have better luck next time. =)

Darn. But please, don't close this to quickly. There might still be a few MOCs if you extend the deadline, and even with the few there are now, you could have two more rounds.

I think that, as a first, it was simply too ambitious. Rounds? Themes?
Try a simple one-shot contest, first, to see how you manage it.
Make it simple, make it interesting, get some judges (or have the contestant themselves vote.
Also try to see if there are other events that can take away players from your contest.
Be clear with the rules: theme, time frame, judging, purist/custom, old/new build etc.
Write them down carefully and make sure people understand them.
