The School of Hard Knocks is having a MOC-off between four of it's five members (Mister Bones is busy seeking Higher Education and will not be participating).

The task: build a statue that would be found in a monster cemetery and would stand on a tomb or some sort of center piece. The statue must be a footprint of a maximum 8X8. Smaller is fine, height has no restrictions, and overhang is fine.

The deadline is September 8th, 2012, after which the winner will be decided by members of VirtuaLUG (voting deadline is September 15th).

What does the winner get? Well, that remains a secret for now, but it involves a future Hard Knocks' project, so stay tuned!~H

*This thread will remain locked until the MOC-off deadline, at which time it be reopened for the judging. Do not ask to be a judge; the answer is no.*

Ok, first to cast my vote...

I could go all long winded about what I liked about each entry (they were all really great guys!) but I'll keep it simple.

My vote goes to Hans. For me, his entry just seemed like the most likely to be an actual statue in a graveyard.

Awesome work from all of you! Thanks for letting us be your judges, jury and excecutioners haha.

My Gods! Okay, you mother fraker, my vote goes to you, in spite of your being a toaster lover! Great idea with the moc-off, gang, you should do this more often!

I vote for Shifu. It looks hilarious, and the little guy would look gret upon any Filipino tombstone. (The barrelman, not Shifu. Although they may be one and the same...)

I do love them all for their own charms, but I have only one vote to give and it goes to..... Hans. Most creepy/ least cheerful and this is a graveyard statue contest. Great idea guys!

Four excellent creations and only one vote. I vote for Hans. I'll try to leave individual comments this weekend, but right now I can't promise anything due to a tight work schedule.

Congrats Hans, a well deserved win! Phew, pleased I didn't win because I had to pick mine over for those brick-bricks in the base for my MO entry backdrop last week, it fell as I tried to carefully wriggle them out without damaging the rest of the statue and its a little bit smashed now...

Sorry I missed out on all this, but I'm swamped with life and all at the moment. Have no pity (or fear), it will all smooth out soon and I'll be a bit more regular. Thanks, Metamucil!
