Rules thread
The rules will be here. The rules will be backed by Admins and Mods.

Once you join, you must first choose a country to start as on the fictional map.
This is done by choosing two nations on the map, (marked by numbers) they must be next to each other, with an exeption being an off shore island chain.

No choosing a country that someone already controls.

When you start in the group, please be prepared to share a back-story to explain why your country formed the way it did.

A nation can simultaneously annex 1 territory for every 3 that it has already concurred.
for example 9 territories = 3 at once

A nation can take over two nations at once when they are added, but they must have triple cool down time.

You must gain territory ONLY through either diplomatic annexation or war, Post your annexation in the map thread.
After any war, you will receive a certain allotted amount of "cool-down time",
14 days "NPC" + 14 day cool down

There are two types of war, player versus NPC (Non-player country), and player v. player.

In player v. NPC, you (the player) control the action. It takes 14 days at the least to win an NPC war, but you cannot lose.

The map has NPC outlines, they wont have names in Collapse & collision, but instead numbers, You will be able to name them yourself when you post your comments in the NNC convo, but the map will not have names (be sure to put the nation number when you attack.)

You get to write about your forces, your tactics, and what you forces did to win (or lose), but keep this realistic. For example: No "I took over an entire country that was three times as big as me in 2 days!!11!1!1!"

In Player v. Player, a CM (combat moderator) will decide the outcome of the battle. Here is how this works:

A CM is chosen by the ADMINs & mods that are neutral. The CM must also be neutral.

First send your plans (including force numbers, tactics, movements, defenses, attacks, etc.) in to the CM (Combat Moderator), Flickrmail, a private group, or Email works for this.

The CM will analyze BOTH players Combat Orders, and decide who wins by comparing each side's tactics, strategies, MOCs, plans, and abilities. The CM will either be a group Mod, Admin, or trusted game veteran.

The CM will post a CR (Combat Report) in the group's INN(International News convo)detailing how the battle went for everybody.

The CM's word is final.
This process repeats until the war ends.
Above all, keep things realistic.

No one player or coalition of players, at any point in the game, may control an entire continent. We say this because we want several powers in each region, not just a few friends controlling one whole area.

No starting with a massive military. Read the Statistics Rules in the thread first.

Then, you MUST make a "statistics" post in the "Statistics" thread, showing your nations strength as determined by your research. No weapons posted means that nation has NO WEAPONS!

Speaking of MOCs, just because you build one, doesn't mean you automatically get a lot of them. the "statistics page), but you can't suddenly have 10000 of them. You have to build them at a REALISTIC pace. Use the system added to the stats page.

In this group, we use technology that is currently being used now, or 2000-04

No hard suits, mechas, or robotic walking units of any kind, no autonomous drones.

No orbital drop ships, and no satellites that can drop stuff from space. Basically: NO WEAPONS IN SPACE. Only observation satellites can go into space.

No lazors, energy beams, rail-cannons, or other sci-fi weapons. I donít even care if they are around today. Such future weapons
arenít being used on any scale in any way.

The Admins reserve the right to ban any creation that features technology too sophisticated for the timeframe, or at least to restrict you from using such technology.

NO NUCLEAR WEAPONRY CAN BE USED, or any super weapons. I cannot stress this enough, it is just banned.

Most importantly everyoneís opinion matters, if people disagree with a rule they will not be kicked, No one will be demoted from position unless expressing foul language or other acts. We will have a fair vote from members to see if its in the best interest.

.....THATS IT.....

To keep group in line, and deleate off topic convos.

RULE: How do we calculate Ship Movement Rates
Begins 7 posts down.
Final answer: 10 posts down.
Answer: Use speeds of real life vessels.

RULE: How long does it take to annex an NPC territory
Begins 7 posts down
Final answer: 10 posts down.
Answer: 14 days + 14 day cool down

RULE: Who represents NPC (White) territories in battle when a player wants to annex them?
Begins 7 posts down.
Final answer: 10 posts down.
Answer: Victory against NPC is automatic.

RULE: How do we track the location of our forces on the map?
Begins 19th post down.
Final Answer: 21 Posts down.
Answer: This question has never mattered in the past, and so it does not matter now.

RULE: Some players have left the map, but their countries remain. Are the NPCs? And if so, is victory still automatic?
Begins: 19th post down
Final answer 24 posts down.
Answer: They are NPCs and victory is automatic, unless they decide to re-join the group, at which time it immediately becomes Player vs Player.

RULE: How do I calculate population increase after capturing a territory?
Begins 25 posts down.
Final Answer: 26 posts down.
Answer: Guess (but do so realistically).

RULE: How do I produce new infantry?
Begins: 25 posts down.
Final Answer: Added to production rates on statistics thread. First post in thread.
Answer: 5000 per week (wartime).

RULE: How do I produce immobile fortifications like fortresses or bunker complexes?
Begins 25 posts down.
Final Answer: Added to production rates on statistics thread. First post in thread.
Answer: Medium fortifications take 3 weeks to build. Large fortifications take 5.

RULE: What role do satellites play in this game?
Begins 29 posts down.
Final Answer: 34 posts down (and listed in Statistics Tread first post)
Answer: Each one take 1 week to build/launch. Owning a satellite over a territory where combat is taking place, adds undefined advantage to all forces of owning player in that territory.

RULE: At what point is a nation big enough to attack more than one territory?
Begins 32 Posts down.
Final Answer: General Conversation III 45th and 46th posts down.
Answer: A nation can simultaneously annex 1 territory for every 3 that it has already concurred. (NOTE, as per Nation Signup Thread, 26th post down, your starting nation DOES NOT COUNT towards your total for territories conquered!). You must have concurred three additional territories, by either victory in player vs. player combat or by annexation, before you can begin annexing 2 territories at once.

RULE: How does the nationís size affect production?
Begins 32 posts down.
Final Answer: Statistics thread first post.
Answer: Each territory conquered increases national production rates by 10%

RULE: Do we have to have boats to annex sea territories or move forces across water?
Begins 42 posts down.
Final Answer: 44 posts down.
Answer: Yes.
