End of Round 1

This is the end of round 1 and the results are as amazing as the amazing Spider-Man. A big ‘thank you’ to everybody who entered a creation. When I started the contest, I never thought it would be so successful. Successful not only thanks to the sheer amount of entries, but even more thanks to their high quality. There were many good laughs, interesting building techniques and clever ideas.

This won’t be an easy weekend for the judges and I’m as curious about the results as everyone who participated. Four of you will be fantastic (and one will be little Franklin). We will find out more about it during this weekend. Stay tuned …

Good luck to one and all. I'm fairly sure I can guess who's going to go through but never-the-less, I wish everybody the best.

Wow, this has been a really big contest! I have absolutely no idea who will be getting to round two, there's an astonishing variety of entries and it's all down to the judges' personal preferences,

This contest has been fantastic! It has had a really good turn out in size! I expected it to turn out more like the DW contest you hosted last year. Apparently I was greatly mistaken! Anyways, I just want to say a big thank you for hosting this contest :)

What a terrific first round! The entries from everybody have been amazing, to say the least. I don't harbor any illusions about advancing onwards, but I'm glad this contest came around 'cause it gave me an excuse to get back to building. Best of luck to everyone else!

Xeno (and judges),

Thanks so much for running this contest! I gotta admit it was a lot of fun actually participating in one rather than running it.

And while, like many others, I have no delusions of making it to round two, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to build something other than massive brickworld castles (like I've done for the last two years haha).

I also have to agree with BB98 up there, PLEASE run this contest again! My only thing was I would have liked to build a bit bigger, but hey, that's just me. I actually think restricting the size of the builds was a good idea for this. It made people think about what they REALLY wanted to show in the build instead of just throwing a ton-o-brick at it and hoping something sticks (my M.O.).

So again, thanks so much! And I hope the judges weekend isn't ruined TOO much!

Good luck guys! You have some hard decisions ahead of ya!
~Chris.

In addition to everything, I’d like to thank every contestant, the 4 judges and the ‘audience’ for their support. It is no secret that a contest like this means a lot of work for those involved, but every minute and cent is worth it, when we are rewarded with so many truly fantastic entries like the ones in this contest.
Every contestant enriched the brick world with a new, brilliant MOC.
Thank you for that.

And now off to round 2 …

Just seeing my name among the top five is reward enough for me :) Congratulations to those advancing, and I can't wait to see what the final round has in store!

Congratulations to the fantastic four! I must say, I'm a bit shocked by some of the scores, it's nothing like I expected. However, that's the way the proverbial ball rolls sometimes. Good luck in round two FF, and thanks to the judges and Mr. Xenomurphy for their time and (in some cases) their LEGO. This was an excellent contest, well organized, well executed, and fun to build in.

Missed it by that much! Thanks for such a great contest, Xeno. All of the judges made some hard choices, but I think they did very well.

Ah, and I just noticed the bottom part. Thanks to Tiler for such a cool prize. I like to think that we almost share a name, although your screen name is a Lego reference. Close enough. ;)

Hey, where's the thread for complaints/whining and general drama? I have an interesting argument and I need it.

Edit: no matter, I addressed the issue in GUWP. Hey, I also noticed while writing there that I'm the highest ranking non-16x16 Diorama! Really not bad :)

Since I'm not a member of this private group, I certainly can not help with any answer. Complaints can be alleged in the General Conversation or the Question thread.
