Since this is the final contest of this yearlong contest group, we will break with tradition and announce the monthly and year-long winners at the end of the month (30th) I would like to personally thank all who have participated in this marathon of a contest group and applaud you all for your hard work, creativity and awesomeness! We have seen up-and-coming builders improve and impress and have seen some top-notch MOCs. This group has been in large part an experiment, and I would be interested in hearing what you thought the strengths and weaknesses were. The contest aspect of the Society will be taking a well-deserved vacation, and we hope for it to re-emerge in an improved form based on the experience and feedback of this first year-long experiment. So tell us what you liked, tell us what you didn't, and suggest what changes you would like to see. We hope to keep the conversation alive here at the BCBS, so check back even after the results come in. See you on the 30th for our Final Results!
I don't have too much to say that I didn't say before. I'm both happy (too busy in this and the next month due to university) and a bit sad (no rounds... )= ) for this vacation time, but like Chro-chan already said, it's better than a cancellation. When will this group become 'active' again? =3 Permalink
I gotta say, I think the idea behind this group was brilliant. I'm sorry I wasn't able to be more active in it.
The one thing I think ought to be changed is the amount of time people have to build. During busier months, its difficult to come up with a great MOC in 14 days. Permalink
It's amazing you were able to just start a contest that lastet for a year now. I'm excited for the final results, maybe not as much as others since there is no way my place in the Totals is gonna change, but I still see forward to know which place Jaller took! A thing that bugged me is with some themes that were chosen. It would be good if there was a rule that wouldn't allow too similar theme to be chosen. And not too overcomplicated, like building 3 MoCs in 14 days. Permalink
This was a really fun experience for me. I enjoyed building with all of you and seeing all the incredible talent. The only thing I could think of changing was the system for picking challenge topics. A little bit more variability and variety would make this one of the most popular contests on the pages. Have a good summer everyone! Permalink
Well it seems Nathan can't even respond to a lousy comment from me... and when I say "a", I mean I commented in several places in the group over a span of a week and even emailed him and he can't take the time to just reply... Permalink

I think a vacation is good. A problem I have is that it looks like you changed the scoring methods recently, and that should not happen. Can you please reply and tell me what happened?
