Well the games have been off to a quick start, and then it tapered down once we hit Monday. So far you guys have created 108 entries....not bad for the first week, though I was expecting at least a hundred more.
Four people have been DQ'd or quit the game entirely. Remember to follow the rules folks. Nothing in life is free, and we all have rules to abide by....LEGO contests are no different. If you think we're being mean, your attitude warrants it. Same goes if you think we're being nice. It's a two way street.
I'm not paying too close attention to the standings, but I can figure out which players are in it to win it by the builds they're submitting. Not all of them are getting 5's either....they're just giving it their best, and it shows.
While you all have been building, I've reviewed four video games in the last week, worked full time, raised 4 kids, and put up with a new bulldog taking up residence where my super duper secret build used to be. :( It's amazing what happens in a week.
So, while we prepare for the second crazy week tell us what you think of the game so far. Any improvments you'd like to see? Comments, complaints, or suggestions? Team letting you down? Get it all out right here and now. Group therapy time! Any categories you can't wait to try? What are we doing RIGHT? Etc., etc.....let's wash it all off our hands and move into week 2 drama free! speaking of things being to high, we have a mess in the neatchat room. people calling each other names, and so forth. any one care to clean it up???.....
I absolutely REFUSE to moderate your guys' chat room. If you guys can't learn to be civil to each other, that's your own problem. I have four kids of my own to take care of, last thing I want to do is babysit for your parents. Permalink
Being my first Ma, and havin only been playing with LEGO again for 3months. Its all very exciting. I see so many great builds coming out. Gets so much inspiration. Loving the whole of this community. Seeing my kids thrive with a hobby that i can be part of warms my heart so much. In short, i think this week have been fantastic and you judges do a great job. Its all very fun ! :D Permalink
I'm having a good time so far. The main problem I'm facing is my job: after working and sweating all day, it's hard to find the energy to sit down and build creations (let alone good ones). Honestly, I can't imagine how some of the other AFOLs with more demanding jobs/lives do it... Permalink

I have a grand total of about 2 to 3 hours a week to build these days... I've been working on my brickworld build since November (tore it down and redid the whole thing as well so that took some time) but yeah, I totally agree with you. Time is the biggest pain in the (bleep) when it comes to Lego. At least I can take an hour or so during work (break) time to get over here and moderate/judge/babysit... Permalink

Sheesh, I'm impressed Mr. Phipson! If I was that busy I'd have a nervous break down or something, hehe. Thanks for all you--and all the other AFOL--do to contribute to this wonderful community! Permalink
