allright E.B. has given a sweet idea for a contest now we need to organize it here is the description of the contest

think that the MOColyimpics is really unfair because some people have more bricks than other and therefore they can make better MOCs. We should make a contest where the admin of the contest selects 180 (thats just an example number) different part (don't worry about colour) and place them neatly on a table or bench and take a series of photos of the parts.
The contestants can then only use those parts in their creation. They can use as many as they want of the parts and in any colour but the can't add new parts or use parts that the admin did not select.

What do you guys think? This way people can go and use the awesome special parts they have in numerous numbers to make one awesome MOC.

ps. ideas 4 the pieces to choose

The problem with this is that many people won't have the exact bricks allowed. I've seen a couple of similar contests that worked pretty well, one was that contestants could only use regular bricks and plates. An alternate model contest for a cheap, common set would also work well.

I think that there should just be a limit, and that you don't have to take pictures. I mean, 180 pieces is a very small amount, and taking 180 pictures would be really annoying. :/

You don't have a number limit. You can use as many of one piece as you want/have. But you CAN NOT use a piece that is not specified.

I also forgot to mention that minifigs are not specified in the pictures. The contestants can add as many or few of whatever minifgs they want.

Huh? So the peice(s) that you say we cannot use, but we can use all the other bricks we have?

Say, for example, the admin selected a 2x2 brick. You could use as many 2x2 bricks as you wanted because the admins selected it.
You can also use any coloured 2x2 brick as well.
See what I mean?

I don't know but this should be a yearly contest, maybe, lets see how it works out first! P.S. should it be themed like a different theme for each contest if there will be more. or maybe it should be just a general contest, no theme.

ok

Since no one can decide on who will take the pictures for this contest, I will do it. I'm gonna group them into several pics so I don't have to take 180 different pics. l'll have them up this weekend, but should I put the MOC in this group, or set up the contest and post it there? And I think we should start this contest two or three weeks from now, OK?

What do you say, Sam?

Just so you guys don't get confused, I changed my name.

I'm taking pictures now. But 180 different legos is way over the top, I'm gonna cut that in half to 90. It's not like we need 180 different, so i'm just doing 90 or less. Mini-figs don't count, but weapons and platforms do.

It was a tough decision, but the winner of this contest is Chris Roberts. Congratulations! To all those other entries, I say they were good as...Oh wait, that's right, there were no other entries. So, in other words, it's over.
