Bonus Round: Coming up with a category
This conversation is for the winners to have a place to discuss and decide on a category for the bonus judges round. If you are a judge, you should not continue, since you will have to compete on the category later.

Cool, I'll see if I can think of any good ideas.

What kinds of categories were your favorite in the games? If we agree on the type of category, then it might be easier to pick a specific one. I enjoyed the first and fourth rounds the most. Those were crappy New Years and Moc speed. Looking back on these categories, I realize that they both have relaxed build guidelines. They don't say build in microscale or build a life size object. Instead these categories say you must build something that fits this certain idea. I thought that this approach was more interesting and therefore more enjoyable. What do you guys think?

OK. Its George versus me.

I would like to request a time-period from the 3rd until the 7th because I have some important projects to finish during the beginning of this upcoming week.... so yeah. Have fun deciding what you want us to build.

This'll be an interesting MOC-Off! By important projects do you mean school? Or ...
...LEGO?

Nah, if this is truly the MOC Speed Contest then it will start on the 3rd and end on the 4th :)

I agree, it gives more freedom from creative builds.

How about we use roughly the structure, You need to build something that does something. The second something would be given and be the necessary link between the entries. Like you need to build something that kills marshmallows. I hope we can think of a better second something but that kind of structure would work well. Just an idea to get you thinking. On second thought a marshmallow killing Moc could be fun.

I think tha the judges deserve to have to do a microscale round just for making us have to do TWO rounds in a row in microscale. :)

Heh, see how THEY like it! Seriously though, I'd like to see them do some castle. (Not micro-scale) Castle's cool!

How about this category? "Medieval Marksman: Depict a warrior fighting a ranged battle. He can be using bows spears, or other distance weapons as long as he isn't using guns." I like this because it is kind of character driven, which I think is fun to watch as well as having an interesting concept. What do you think?

Hmmm, the category doesn't seem vauge enough we need to give 'em a good head-scratcher.

Here's some ideas I have:(if you are either Ben, George, or the 'Other' Ben read no further)

Lego Red Riding Hood: Recreate a fairy tale or poem in Lego. Whether it's three little bears or three little pigs, even Little jack Horner (who sat in his corner) You pick!

I'm free!: Create a scene of what you can do now that you've finished judging the MOC Speed contest. The wilder the better!

MOC Slow....: We had a category to build something that can travel MOC Speed now you have to make something that shows how fast 'MOC Slow' is and what vehicle/transport/whatevah that can achieve it.

Castle Attack!: Your catle is being attacked. show the castle, how it's being attacked, by whom (or is it who) it's being attacked, and how you plan to defeat them. Minifig scale or Microscale.

Worst valentine's day EVER!: Show what could go wrong and why on valentines day.

Alright, that's all I got for now, let me know which ones you guy like. :)

How about if the judges are each the rulers of a medieval kingdom, and at war with each other. They must build something showing how they plan to attack, defend, or whatever, as long as it has to do with their war. The category could be called: The Medieval Battle of the Judges.

I like that. Sort of a coprimise between all three of our ideas. :)
Okay so how will we judge them? Points, or a vote?
Also who will make the category topic? I think Sir B should do it because he was the overall winner.
We need to make the topic monday morning.

I think Medieval Battle of the Judges sounds good, so we all agree that that will be the official category. I think we should give points since that seems more iconic to this particular contest and more fun. I am fine with starting the bonus round. I think we should start on the third since both ex-judges requested it earlier on in this thread. So we still have some time.

Sounds good. I also agree with the points, because you can't really factor speed points into a vote.

I'd say this weekend, unless anyone needs it later.

I am sorry, but if the round is this weekend then I will definitely not be able to build for it. I am sorry about this, but I did warn you guys when you started the idea.

Well it's the 3rd but we still have some indecision on when to start. Since there are so few people left in this contest, I think we can afford to postpone the bonus round a little.
I would love to be able to include all the judges. Should we wait a little or should I go ahead with the previous decision? Man! Being a judge is hard.
