These really seem like themes that are out of our contestants comfort-zones, Great choices!

Thanks for the votes judges - and all the kind comments! This round is going to be a LOT tougher - especially with Ian's excellent cityscape in the first round setting the standard. Good luck everyone!!

Quick question: will there be two winners in this round?
| January 1, 2012, 11:03 pm
Yes, nicely picked categories. Unfortunately, I may not be able to enter. I'm going to a camp in 3 days, and that ends on the 12th. I could throw something together before I go, and thats' probably what I'll try to do, but I have two MOCs in the mid-construction phase, so it'll be a bit difficult.

Anyway, I'll try to get something in.

No. There will be a first-second-third, but no third round if that's what your asking.

Thanks for clearing that up! Back to building!

Wow Christian...you're getting good at this "out of the comfort zone" thing! While I'm thankful I made it to the next round, my heart sunk when I saw my category. I don't even really know what Mecha is. Like a big robot that houses a mini-fig? I may have to bow out on this round, because I don't know if I'll have much time to build between now and the 14th. Oh well I'll do my best to get an entry in. Good luck everyone!

I don't think it needs to contain a fig. You probably just have to build something robotic, be it a hard-suit or a drone.

Well my build is actually done already! It wasn't as hard as I thought. I can't say I enjoyed building Mecha, but I'm pretty pleased with the final product.

I'd have happily swapped categories with you! Phew, this one's tough, but I guess that's the point. I give it a shot and look forward to seeing everyone else's entries.

If we swapped I'd have had city-scape two times in a row. My last entry was Cityscape.

Oh...heh...I should have read this earlier, now I get what you were talking about in our little banter the other day. Thank you for the indirect compliment, but I doubt my build will have bearing on your scores. Cityscape could be portrayed in any number of ways, unfortunately Mecha is more limited (I'm pretty nervous about this round). Good luck to you too!

Eek! A tie! Well that certainly adds to the suspense. I'll wait and see what the judges say - if they go for a MOCoff that could be fun, but if they don't want to prolong the contest that's fine by me too. Either way congratulations to you on a couple of really enjoyable builds already!

Thank you very much! You put up a couple of extremely excellent entries yourself! I'm glad it came down to you and me; it's sort of like a "older AFOL vs. rookie AFOL" showdown. Whatever the outcome, I'm just happy I got this far!

I don't know. we're waiting for Christian to decide whether we're going to have the top two with the highest scores duel in a MOC-Off or if the judges will vote on one of the two and whichever has the 2 votes wins.

Its getting a bit quiet here. I know there has been talk of a MOCoff and I know that I said that I am fine with that, but unless a final decision is reached soon on wether or not Mr. Lucas and I will have a face-off, I'm going to favor sharing the top-spot with with Mr. Lucas rather than having a showdown. Don't get me wrong, a MOCoff would be cool, but this contest is getting a bit long (its been going on for nearly 2 months now) and other projects are starting to take up my time.

If christian doesn't come up with the category pretty soon we can do what christian had come up with to begin with and the judges can do a vote on which entry will win.

Seconded! At this point I'd be happy to share the honours or go with Christian's original plan. If there's going to be a MOC-off, please let us know by the weekend. I appreciate the effort the judges have already put into running this contest, wouldn't want to see it drift away.
