we really want to get feedback on my entry so I think the deadline should still be the fourth, but thats just what I think.

Yes, please! It's been cloudy for a while, so I can't take pictures! I need this weekend to snap some photos.

I am thinking about extending the deadline to the eleventh, if five people say to, I'll change it.

well...Mabey we can exstend the deadline to the sixth?

I'd ask you to extend to the 11th. But I'm not even sure I'll get an entry in.

I think extending the deadline to the sixth is a good idea. Alot of people are dealing with heavy school work loads, Christmas projects, stuff like that. Personally, my creation is finished and ready to be photographed, but I think other people should have more time to complete their own entries.

Please Extend the Deadline to the 6

Please extend it. I am almost done with my entry, but I'd like some extra time in case I don't get to finishing it tomorrow or if the up-loader fails.

Some more time would be nice! I have had to work for the past week and haven't had time to upload my entry.

I'm for the extension. I probably won't be able to enter otherwise.

Come on,
if you extend the deadline, it's unfair for everyone, who didn't do anything bigger, because of the deadline. They add their creations earlier and don't think they can change...
It doesn't make any difference to me, and I'm not really able to explain, what I think in English, but I'm against any extendings of deadlines! I'm done. :)

I must agree with you that it will be unfair for few people (right now number of 9) but I will take that on mind when judging.

Deep Thought has a fair point but it'll be a better contest if more people get entries in. The current extension to the 6th seems like a good compromise... I wouldn't like to see it go any longer though.

Could you please extend it to the eleventh? Like you originally planned? I've begun working on my entry, but it's got some rather complex techniques and I don't want to rush. If you can't that's alright, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get my entry in on time.

Well try to make it by tomorrow if you won´t be able we will see. I would extend it more but then it will be unfair toward people who done their entries before 4th.

Alright, well I'll build like crazy.

Actually I now know for certain that I can't get it in tomorrow, sorry. If you can extended the deadline further (after all their are only 13 entries at this moment), I'd love to enter my build. It's around half way done. But if that's not possible, I completely understand.
Thanks,
Ian

Well you are right there are only 13 entries. Well lets give this decision to Christian, well he is leader.

I don't care that much if you extend it but the late people should get minus 1 point. Also if you set a new date keep it there and don't change it again.

Well my first plan was to extend it to eleventh and for every day after sixth minus one point. Maybe it will be like this. If others agree.

That sounds like a prudent idea.

Please just state where going to do it on the 11 and you get minus 1 point. otherwise we will debate about it for ever.

So if I post it on the 11th that will be 5 points lost? Or is it just one point off? Five points off almost doesn't make it seem worth the effort. Because even with perfect scores that's 15/20. And Christian did originally say the 11th.

24 people signed up for this contest. Has of now, 13 people have entered their creations. I, personally, would like to see more entries. All of the entries so far have been extraordinary, and I wouldn't like the first round and awesome creations to stop now. Some people have said they are building and will post theirs, and I trust them to do so.

I hereby extend the contest date to December 11, and that is the final date.

Thanks Christian! sorry to make a fuss, but my build is kind of complex, so i really didn't want to rush. I'll have it in on the 11th (hopefully). If I don't then I deserved to be docked points from the beggining.

To go along with this. Some people don't have a lot of time on their hands to build. I would think that you would be grateful they are even giving some of their time to enter in this contest. As for me I agree with what Ian said above, if we have no chance of getting a perfect score why enter?
| December 7, 2011, 8:23 am
I've got to agree with Ian: I think the absolute deadline should be extended to the 11th, and no points should be deducted from anybody's creation who posts before that date. The original deadline date (Dec 4th) didn't leave enough time for alot of people to post their creations, and this whole buisness about 'deducting points' seems unreasonable to me. Like Ian said, if there's no chance for people to get a good score, why should they enter? Now, I have no ulterior motives (my creation was uploaded before the original deadline); I just think it would be more competitive for everybody if a little more time was allowed so a few more entries could get uploaded. Wether or not my opinion will cost me the competition due to more creations being uploaded in my group remains to be seen, but even if it does, I don't really care; I just want this to be fair, competitive, fun contest.

Haha, well you didn't have to defend my cause! Thanks to you I'm not getting DQ'd 5 points! But seriously, your entry is awesome Paul and I don't think we're in the same grouping or whatever it's called. So neither of us will be eliminated by the other just yet.

Well yes it is. Umm maybe if we give them ability to change their entries a bit. Just idea. But I still think that their entries are awesome.

What if a maximum of one entry in each group that was posted after the 6th can get into round two? That way at least one entry that was posted before the initial deadline would get through, but builds after that deadline still have a good chance of getting through, and they don't lose points.

I can't wait to see it! Btw, I was wondering: how do you get your pictures to come out so cleanly? Do you use a pro-camera or just a regular digital camera?

I just use a regular digital camera. But I always really over expose the pictures and put the camera to "flower" (tiny detail) setting. I also set the camera pictures on some "Bright" setting, so that the pictures are brighter then usual. And I may not end up getting my entry in until tomorrow. I'll most likely finish building it today but I don't if I'll get pictures taken.

I don't think that sounds very fair. You're supposed to progress in the contest by how well you did on the entry.

Yes but some people had for it more time than others. But we will see during judging ... hehe :D

I haven't even thaught of asking for an extension!
I didn't have much time too. First, because I have started a little bit to late (ok, that was my fault, I know) and second I have to go to school. Other people have to go to school/work too and say themselves: "Okay, maybe I won't be able to build anything bigger, but I don't HAVE to be the winer..."...
And I think no one can be an amazing builder in this contest. It's an "out of your comfort zone contest" like the name says.

Last but not least: In my oppinion the main focus should be at good ideas, etc. and not only at how big the builds are. Not every single highschooler is able to buy tons of LEGO pieces!

Okay, now I think everything is said...
I'm done here!

You should let him in because if not he wasted all his building time for nothing, people who finished before the origonal deadline should extra points for finishing ON TIME.

I've been looking at the entries and noticed that you guys have been doing great before and after the original deadline. I don't think that the speed you guys had to build at even mattered overall becuase I've seen entries that were posted before the original dealine better than entries posted after it. So pat yourselves on the back for making this round exciting and interesting.
Alright, that's all I have to say.

Hello everyone...
maybe that sounded a little bit "wrong". I just was angry, about deadline extensions, when I wrote it. I'm a German teenager and often don't know, how to say what I want to say in a discussion. Hope I haven't angered anyone!
