ABS is the plastic from which Lego is made. I believe it stands for: Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (okay, I found that definition on the group homepage).

That's right. All LEGO peices are made out of ABS except from the Lego Minifigures Series 4 Scientist hairpeice, the Kit Fisto head and the Plo Koon head.

Yes, I've known for years that Lego's made from ABS plastic, I just didn't know what ABS stood for. It seems to me that many the series mini-figs (not just the rubber head pieces) are made of a cheaper quality plastic though. Thanks all the same for clarifying!

It's a contest held on MOCpages. You sign up, and are assigned a category. You have a certain amount of time to post your entry (last year it was ten days) and then judges decide on the best 64 entries. Then those 64 are divided into 32 pairings and each pair of contestants receive a category to build in. Then whoever creates the best MOC in each pairing moves to the second round, where there are 16 pairings. Play continues like this until one person remains. There is generally a prize for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places, as well as a prize for the teenager who goes the farthest. It'll probably be started in the next couple of weeks, check Chris Phipson's homepage where he'll post a link to the contest when it's open.

Hey, I am not Mark, but I think that I could answer this, as I am in classic-castle/LCC as well. :D Actually, if you want to build in greenery, and forests, and all, Lenfald is the way to go. That is my faction, and it is the wooded one, with tons of forests!

I think that Loreos might have some tiny forests, but generally, it is a desert country. That is why their prince, Jarius Lorean, is called the Prince of the Desert. So if you want to join LCC, and want to build forests, Lenfald is the right faction for you!
