R3 Extended Deadline

Hello Round 3 competitors! Due to the current up-loader issue, the deadline for Round 3 has been extended by a week. I can't expect all of you to do the Flickr trick. As this is a MOCpages Contest, that wouldn't be fair of me.

Your entries are now due at 11:59pm, Sunday the 10th (2/10/13). Be sure to still comply with all the other requirements in the original Round 3 thread though; the date is the only thing that has been changed.

For the sake of those who have already posted, I would still like to ask all who haven't to finish their builds as soon as possible. I ask this entirely in trust: if you're opponent has posted, please don't take advantage of the extra time to size-up on them (just finish whatever you already had planned). Thank you!

A week? Nice, hopefully it's fixed by then. For the record, I've already finished my creation, though I'll probably be waiting until MOCpages is working to post.

Yep, a week! Because I'm too lazy *ahem* busy to reschedule the whole contest. A week obviously keeps us on the same schedule, just a week delayed. And, as you mentioned, it gives MOCpages a good chunk of time to hopefully become properly operational again. ;)

Nice! A week! My creation is finished, the pictures taken and edited, just have to upload. I will wait until the mocpages error is finished though. :D

Cool. I can do the Flickr thing though. I've had my MOC finished for a while and took photos yesterday.

Good call on the extention. Sucks that you're at the mercy of technology, but I guess that's the way it is.

Nothing's working. Not even inserting pics with html :/
Hope they'll fix it until sunday.

Well it looks like the up-loader is back in service and we're already seeing some of the coolest entries yet! With this caliber of building all around, you guys sure make the judges lives harder! ;) It will be interesting to see who comes through. Good luck everyone!

Well that's a wrap on Round 3! Unfortunately Grant didn't enter (lucky Matthew), but it looks like everyone else managed to get their entries in. Hang tight while the judges do their work over the next couple of days; Lord willing Round 4 will be launched this coming Thursday!

Yup, East Coast timezone. As you got confused with times and were so close, I've made a proposition: We'll let Matthew decide whether or not you get in. If he's okay with it, then we'll bend the 11:59pm rule and let you in. If Matt is merciful and you're entry is excepted and you happen to win (a lot of if's), I might advice that you don't wait so late to post in the future. ;)

Hey guys, sorry I have not been replying, it was a very busy and hectic day yesterday, with a lot of stuff going on. I saw the emails last night, but I had internet problems, so it didn't send. :(

This was a very hard decision for me, since it seems to be a close round, but since the rules do say no entries are excepted, I am obliged to say no, since Max said it was 6 HOUR period before my opponent posted his entry. I do not know what time zone Grant is in, but I don't think that it should have been a 6 hour difference.

But, I don't like winning by a default. I was in a 50/50 battle, and was thinking and praying about this for a while.

As a result, I have to say no. I am sorry, but 6 hours is just a to long of a period between the deadline. If it was a lot shorter, more like 5-20 minutes like the MocOlympics default with Heath Flor, I would probably have said yes.

I had a lot of fun competing against you Grant, and I hope that you won't take this seriously, your entry was fantastic, I really enjoyed your awesome techniques, especially the S.N.O.Tted cheese slopes, that seems to be your favorite technique, and makes you, you. :D Have a great day Ian and Grant!

Hey guys, scratch what I said before. :D After further thought, and prayer, I say.....let the judges decide. :D I think that asking me, the opponent, is not right. The judges should decide what will be done. Just know Ian, that you wrote the rules. But do what you feel that God is leading you to do. :D If you allow it, and Grant wins, I am fine with that, although I would prefer not. :D

Okay, here's the final jurisdiction. I talked to Matthew and his initially response was no (however he had some misunderstandings). Once I pointed these out to him, he replied by asking me to decide. This wasn't very helpful, but as I'm the head Admin, it was fair request. All that to say, we're pretty much back to where we started! To prevent any further drama, I'm going to make the decision and have done with it.

My apologies Grant, but I've decided--also taking Matthew's initial reaction into account--not to allow your entry in. While I love your build and am sorry about your confusion regarding time-zones, we did clearly specify in the Round 3 write-up that no entries would be excepted after 11:59pm MOCpages time (2/10/13). You may have only been a few minutes late, but the group was locked by the time you tried to add. While I know exceptions have been made before in similar contests, I'm going decide strictly by the "law" on this one. Matthew wins the round.

well Guys, If you prayed about it i'm not going to question it, I would like to say, that I actually agree with your decision, and would have dropped out to let Matthew go on regardless of weather you decided I could still compete, Heres why:

As I have mentioned I am involved with Speech and Debate, and the first tournament of the Year and and My brother did quite well, we went 5-1 and got 5th place out of 42 teams :D at the next tournament (During round 2 of the MELO) Because I didn't have enough time to prepare, we didn't even place :( Additionally because the tournament ended on saturday, I could only get back to my collection late sunday to finish my entry. Although I still advanced to round 3 I seriously thought about dropping it right then and there, but I didn't because I noted that the next tournament was 3 weeks away and the Melo deadline was 2, (which would have meant a lot more time for both of the things) But then look at what happened! MOCpages had some problems which once again forced the MELO to collide with our tournaments, With the same disappointing result at the 3rd tournament, and my MELO entry this time forced to be late (Therefore causing all this controversy) I knew God was trying to tell me something, he was hinting at the fact that Legos are taking the priority in my life. Essentially causing both Legos and my school to be counteractive, me not giving my full potential at either that is, I knew I had to drop one (Which in the end boiled down to being Legos, because I have my Brother and Other people reliant on me to do more in Debate)

God is Good! And he is constantly reminding me that he is in control, even through something as little as Legos :D Thanks for the Great contest Ian, You will definitely be seeing me in future years :D
