Ending the Service....?
Join to comment
Hey Everyone, so I've been thinking about the Future of this Service.

Seeing how the Situation has caused a massive amount of Damage, I'm not sure if the New Group will Repopulate to a decent Size... and there's no way I'm using this Group.

So, I've decided that if the New Group fails to reach 50 Normal Members (53 in the Member Counter), by the 4th of February, I will be ending the Service.

If you happen to be someone who wants the Service to continue, please inform as many Members of the New Page as you can.

And make sure to Read the New Rules Carefully.

First off, you deleted me from the new group.
Second, I can't seem to find it on MOCpages again. I would gladly join, but for the aforementioned things above.

Well, seeing how Today is the Fourth and that the Member Count remained unchanged for two weeks, people wanted to join but failed to carefully read the New Rules, I have in fact deleted the New Page, as I have ended the HFR!!! Service.

Since the HFR!!! Service has ended, I will no longer need the New Page, though this Page will remain, as I cannot delete it. So, everyone is free to use this as they please... as I cannot stop anyone from doing so.

And for the Record, I will not salvage the HFR!!! Service and this Group Page. If Admin Status is returned to me for this Group, I will not return to the Service.

If such an event occurs, the only changes I will make will be the MOC Add Limit will be set to a higher Daily Limit, the Title (along with the Rules and Descriptions) will become Generic, like "All MOCs Welcomed!", and this will be a Group to Add MOCs to and other Group Stuff. I will also appoint two people as Admin, and then leave the Group. But the likelihood of such an event is very slim from what I have gathered.

I will not be reviving the HFR!!! Service, I have ended it permanently, and will be moving onward to different Projects. And I don't care how much people demand I return and continue Service, I will not.

Well Hump-Free, I can't honestly say I'm surprised or sad. You have a habit of writing walls of text, which likely put most people off and disinterested them from joining. I usually have the stomach to read large volumes of words, but even I skimmed over a few of your longer messages.

I think at this time in MOCpages' life, a reviewer is not needed. If the death of this service means the beginning of you adding more MOCs, I say bring it on. I made you one of my favorite builders on the hope that you would add some of your creations.

I'm sorry if this seems insensitive or rude, I apologize, but I am speaking my thoughts about something you seem to have fully made up your mind about.

So, you decide to end working at HF Rates or revive it? Well, you did make a 2nd account and a 2nd replacement group. So, I think we may have to go, or both HF groups will be quiet, maybe some members might not know why you are "working" there.

I see that your comment says you will go onto your account and do different projects. Maybe bionicle, I saw in your 1st account, you had a couple of them. I also did notice that your account was deleted, and now there are not any admins anymore . . .

So, I just want to say in the past, I hope you had a good time working. Have a happy day,

~Zack

Eh, I'm not offended, it's not like I'm surprised people don't bother to read what I write, I am well aware that I am at a higher level of writing skills than the majority of people, as indicated by numerous Professors who have read my work.

MOC Pages as a whole isn't ready for such a Review Service, both in terms of how Site and the Groups function and the Demographics that populate the Site. It's not that the Site is bad, it's simply not focused on the same things I focus on. However, despite this, there are users who actually use the Service and are willing to put in the effort.

And it's very difficult to be rude to me, I wouldn't worry if I were you.

Oh, and despite the fact I am working on a new Project, I wouldn't be expecting any Creations from me any time soon. It wasn't HFR!!! that was making me unable to post anything, it's school.

Like this semester I have a full schedule plus an additional class and I have the MCAT to study for. Seeing how much I write, as well as my experience with Art, writing Reviews never took that long and I normally worked between classes or Study Breaks.

Building/Designing, along with related tasks such as Posting, takes more time than Reviewing by a significant margin.

I've been watching this back and forth for a long time now (it tends to clog up my events list because of Thomas Z's ill-advised involvement with H F. So, I can't really help but see all this going on. But I've got a few things to say. First off: HF: Get over yourself. Seriously. You are way too full of yourself and you need to get off your ego trip. MOCpages was just fine before you appointed yourself worthy of reviewing others creations. Your stuff is nothing special and it certainly doesn't give you the right to appoint yourself reviewer. People only came to you to increase their likes on their own stuff, not because they valued your input. Also, your writing is nothing special. I have a PhD in English, and an MA in Biology and I know that your writing is nothing special. There are lots of people with your level of grammar and spelling and vocab. Get over yourself. You know who you remind me of? A newer, but less skilled version of Dali Zheng or Phong Chang. Those two were way too full of themselves as well, but at least their stuff was half decent. You don't even have that to back you up. You've got this wierd idea that you provided some sort of groundbreaking service to MOCpages, but the truth is, the majority of the people neither know, nor care that you exist or that you have a reviewing (service). Again, get over yourself. Its not that MOCpages was not ready for you. Its that MOCpages doesn't care about you or what you have to say. Its that simple. Windbags like Dali and Phong have come and gone, and I see no difference with you, whether you stay or go. Secondly, I look at all this drama you're fostering here and elsewhere on the pages, and again I say: get over yourself. Why are you being such a drama queen, deleting all your MOCs (not that it was a great loss, mind you, but still) and then posting all these melodramatic messages on this page. I feel bad for all the people that you have drawn into your little drama here. The fact of the matter is, you are just milking what was actually a very minor incident and using it to draw attention to yourself. You're blowing things way out of proportion and your reactions are following accordingly. Why? I think its because your MOCs were mediocre and weren't getting the response you thought they deserved, and your service was costing you more attention than you were getting back, so you decided to stir up some drama to renew interest in you again. Once again; get over yourself. Rather than being melodramatic, why not just be a regular member of MOCpages, with MOCs and comments and the rest. Why all of this? Its not necessary. As I've said, I've seen people like you come and go from here, and no matter what you say or do, or what drama you cause, it will eventually be forgotten in the wake of new and exciting things. If you want to truly make your mark on MOCpages, then be polite and helpful and non-judgmental and cooperative and humble. A good example of someone for whom such behaviour has paid off is MOODSWIM. He's a great guy. His MOCs are okay, but mostly he's a great guy who always has something nice to say and who is very humble and helpful. He doesn't set himself up to judge others and doesn't go looking for attention. People come to him instead without all the drama. He got there by being a productive and positive member of the community. I suggest you model your future behavior after him, because no amount of drama will bring you to that level. If thats too much to handle, then try being quiet and waiting until someone asks you for your ill-considered opinion before offering your advice that no one really needs or wants beyond the extra view it gives their MOC. I'm sorry if I am being harsh, but I'm really getting sick of this stale old cry for attention from you and really wish you would just stop.

It's nice that theres someone on the site who has looked for a purpose other then posting mocs, and I'm more then fine you reviewing stuff, but when it becomes so dramatic that every conversation becomes a "I'm doing this for you, I don't have to be here thread" or a "I do all this more important school stuff and my reviews are a privilege" type deal, I'd say its gone too far.

Ditto on the two comments above, considering you are I would guess around 18 - 22, I expected you to act accordingly, instead of milking the simplest things continuously. Your account gets deleted? Move on, get your creations set up again, and get back in gear.

As someone once said, "Lead, follow, or get out of the way."
