Ladies and Gentleman, Welcome to round three of the 2011 MocOlympics! Congratulations on making it this far and now, the competition only gets tougher! Good luck to all of you!

You all know most of the rules at this point but let's just go over them again to make sure.

Round three starts NOW and will end at 11:59 pm, MOCpages time (Sunday) October 16th. No entries will be accepted after this time.

Your entry MUST:
Be titled "MocOlympics (may be shortened to MO) round 3 "you" vs "Your opponent." You may title it anything you wish after that but that must be the opening of the title.

Near the TOP of the entry you must state what category you are playing in and you must have a WORKING link to both the MocOlympics group AND your opponent's page. If you post your entry first then their homepage is fine, if they post first then link to their entry please. (You do not have to change it to their entry after they post but it would be nice to them if you did. Again, not needed and you will NOT be docked in any way if you don't. Your choice)

You must add your entry to the group pool (no, you don't need to leave any links, adding it to the group is good enough). Once you add it to the group, that's it, it's OURS and NO changes may be made. We STRONGLY suggest that you get feedback from others before adding it to the group. If any changes need to be made please do so BEFORE you add it to the group pool. The judges will NOT look at it until it's added to the group.

Once you and your opponent have posted and added to the group, the judges will vote on the mocs. There will be three judges for each matchup (divided by the brackets). You must receive 2 out of 3 votes to advance to the next round.

Yellow and Green Bracket judges: Chris Phipson, Matt David, Mr. Xenomurphy

Red and Blue Bracket judges: Mark Kelso, Dave Kaleta, El Barto

Alright, if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Good luck to everyone!

For round three, we've done things a little bit... differently. You aren't assigned anything "specific" to build but rather given a "quote" to work with. Let the following quote speak to you, whatever you think it means, and build something that expresses it. What you build may or may not have anything to do with the original context of the quote, that's up to you. There are no size restrictions and no limit on what you can do with it. If you want to build a single dio/vig/layout, that's fine. If you'd prefer to put a story to your quote, then by all means. This is about YOUR interpretation of the saying and what it means to you.

Good luck everyone!

that's gotta be the least sense-making category of them all. Does anyone know where this quote/saying/whatjamacallit came from?

Here's the quote from Airplane.
Dr. Rumack: You'd better tell the captain we've got to land as soon as we can. This woman has to be gotten to a hospital.

Elaine: A hospital? What is it?

Dr. Rumack: It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

Now, if you read some of the other lines from the film, they use this bit a bunch of times. That might give you some ideas. So the concept isn't necessarily to recreate the scene and reuse the quote. This category is wide open!

That is correct. You do NOT have to make it relate to the original context of the quote. Basically, as long as that "line/quote" can be fit into your moc then it's fair game. Just be sure it DOES fit, that's about the only criteria for this round.

To make things easy for everyone I compiled where each quote came from. Now these facts were found on the internet so some of them might be wrong.

Example:
"Quote" = "Where it came from"

Alright, here they are.

"Life Here Began Out There" = Battlestar Galactica

"I Am Your Father!" = Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

"I Ainít Got Time To Bleed!" = Predator

"I Pity The Fool!" = A-Team (tv series)

"Donít Cross The Streams!" = Ghostbusters

"I Love It When A Plan Comes Together" = A-Team (tv series)

"Et Tu, Brute?" = William Shakespeare's Julius Ceaser (play)

"A Hospital? What Is It?" = Airplane!

"Show Me The Money!" = Jerry Maguire

"You Talkiní To Me?" = Taxi Driver

"Do NOT Go In There!" = Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

"Iíll Be Back" = The Terminator

"Thereís No Place Like Home" = The Wizard of Oz

"Go Ahead, Make My Day" = Dirty Harry

"I Feel The Need-The Need For Speed!" = Top Gun

"What Could Possibly Go Wrong?" (Many, many films.)

Hope this helps you guys, And Good Luck!

So it's your fault I sat with the complete works of Shakespeare for four hours last night then? That's a night i'll never get back Bart, I hope you realise that.

The flipside is I have a killer idea, my builds started and a clear plan. But still, I want my night back. Reading Shakey leaves a funny taste in my mind, and making notes just made me think of homework and i'm way too old for that.

And no, it's not a Lego version of the play. Even I think that would be too wordy.

Non-funny is what I've done too, I've attempted to think outside the box and stepped my builds up a level from Round 2 - going to bring forth a clean style that I've never done before. Good luck mate!

I tried to go for funny, but all the ideas I had for a funny approach to our quote had serious shortcomings, so non-funny it will have to be, and slightly out of the box I think, but probably not as much out of the box as you. And good luck to you too! :-)

Ooooh very dark and evil huh? This I want to see. It has to be atleast competitive with Wes' build from R2 ;) Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I might actually have been very sarcastic. Still not knowing to what turn my entry is gonna take. (I can't tell too much for fear Wes is spying!)

"ONLY new builds will be allowed. If you've built ANYTHING before your round starts it is NOT allowed. If we find out, you'll be disqualified."

Hi, I added my R.3 entry to early and forgot about the description on explaining the story. Am I allowed to add it now please? If not would you still consider it if I explain the story in a comment on my entry? Thank you.

I hope not. Last week it turned out he had been tied up and robbed by a "lady of the evening." That might be a bit embarassing to have it happen twice in a row...
