First off,let me start this apologizing myself.I had a quite busy week, and I wanted to do this right, that's why I postponed this for the weekend,so I would have more time.
It was a great run,we had some great entries, the contest was a huge success, but now it's time to end it.In this topic it will be listed all the judges considerations for each of the entries, and the scores will be 10,9 and 8,to who they think it should be the first, second and third, respectively.
Johann: A very nice entry, however, the build were not as good as the others, and presentation did count. The 'warriors' were fine, but could use more polishment and better designs, some seemed quite rushed, to be honest, specially the monster. The combiner was a nice touch. A good entry, but sadly not enough,8/10
Harvey:Best main hero design(when combined). If not combined it doesn't stand out. Monster while big looked toothless and weak. The use of too much black and silver drowns the accessory colors use and makes me think it the presentation was shot in a black and white camera thereby lacking in color and depth. 8/10
Chris: Your entry is an example of technical brilliance. The combiner when formed is amazing. That said, when separated are a bit lackluster. The monster does not look at all dangerous, and from a certain point of view could be running away, out of fear of being hunted down like some game fox. 8/10
Yuri: I really appreciated the combiner (I love them!) but I had a few problems with your presentation. Many pics were unfocused, and that baddie was not very threatening. The thng I liked most in your entry was Toa Warfor. 8/10
Berial: The dragon is great, but he doesn't look so menacing, and the combiner, didn't help you,not with me at least. It is commendable that you tried it,and it is great as a combiner, but not as a titan.Warfor looks cool and badass, but the pics and presentation aren't so great and overall your entry just couldn't fit the bill to me. 8/10
Johann: To me the best. Pictures are not so good as Clockwork's, but it was more fun, and with some great use of "effect builds". The 'warriors' were pretty much the same quality as clockwork's. Not so polished, but with some NPus to compensate it. The decision point to me, however, was the creature. Its very creative and with some good uses of pieces. And that + fun battle, made it for me. 10/10
Harvey: Best monster but main hero and other hero with the exception of the D9-T-45 “Slinger” looked very ordinary creations to me.Unique story but I dislike the cheesy dialogue while other character does not seem to matter in the action scene. Action pictures could have been better also. 9/10
Chris: Strangely enough, I enjoyed Nathan's cheesy story. The large flower monster construction appeared to be quite detailed, however the heroes seemed to feel quite plain. Uniqueness is the key, and you managed to pull it off with the Slinger. Be it deceptively plain, or hurried for parts, which you seemed to still have a lot of, your heroes could have had more detail added. More action in the photos would have made it better as well. Interestingly enough, this monster was the only one that seemed truly dangerous. 9/10
Yuri: Giant flower guy! Seriously, my favourite foe among your entries.
You made a good team, less technically impressive than the others but better characterized. I approved the choice of introducing them before throwing them into action, the page has a good rythm and it's easy to go through. Also some nice humour. And hey, giant flower guy! 10/10
Berial: While I enjoyed the humor and the cheesy dialog, the heroes and the villain seem to be lacking something. While one as a strong head design,it has weird bad looking feet for instance. The monster's head is great but the rest of the body is all black and lacking detail.Still, technicly a great entry and it does have some great designs in it! 9/10
Johann: At first I tough this one was going to win. Presentation is great, as well as the builds. The idea of reutilizing old MOCs, altough kind of a 'cheat', was well played, and a certain entertainment for the 'fans'. The creature here, however is a problem to me. Its great itself, but overall looks strange, and not so creative. Body is too long and straight, like a log, as well as the arms. Anyway, a great entry, but I felt he just stayed in his comfort zone regarding the builds. 9/10
Harvey: Love the use of the different color scheme with live background scene. Alien Monster looked big and intimidating. Best camera work and best presentation. Overall, while character designs are not the best, in total average rating of his would beat the total average rating of others for me when I computed it. Also, I think in the story line all heroes played their role in beating the monster. Problem is monster didn't got a chance and was clearly out manned. 10/10
Chris: The vibrant colours of Clockwork Tempest's entry intrigued me. Presentation was superb, coupled with the right lighting, camera angles, worthy of a professional filmographer. The revamping of sorts that occured with each of the hero characters was a great way at bringing some of your older characters back in, reimagined, upgraded and evolved in some manner with smooth, flowing lines associated with their forms. The beast, the great foe was certainly imposing. Long, drawn out features that gave it a tall, fearsome appearance. The single, cyclopean eye gave it a rather static, possibly quizzical look, not matching the overall demeanour the rest of the body portrayed. 10/10
Yuri: Awesome entry. The baddie is impressive, and the characters are all technically well built, tough a bit needlessly complex (when you build groups, a good eal of details are lost in the action). The RL settings are a wonderful choice, and the pics are clear. The only issue I had was with the page's presentation: your near-uninterrupted flow of pictures with little to no description lacked depth, and the big chunk of production notes in the end was discouraging at best, but in the end a useful reading. 9/10
Berial: Great hero designs, great photography and great villaing made it for me.While I don't like that gimmick you used with the monster, making his torso very long,I admire the technical brilliance of him and of all the heroes, plus the great use of pieces and cool poses. Also, that background is just beautiful, you were wise to take your pictures outside. 10/10

WOW! I'm glad that's over, and a huge congratulations to clockwork tempest, you truly deserved the win! I'm actually kind of glad that I got second place because I didn't want to be a judge anyways XD And Monarth your entry was really good too! In the end, we're all winners! (really! this contest has opened new doors for me! It definitely got me to build outside of my comfort zone.) Permalink
