History of the IAE
 Group admin
The current year is 5277 AA (After Apocalypse) and the long history of the IAE shall be told here. Long ago, before the Great Apocalypse occurred, there were hundreds of human colonies that originated from unknown reaches of space. These colonies were at war with each other causing some of the greatest space battles in existence and the largest land invasion in recorded history... One of these groups, arguably the strongest, was the IAE and its long line of Emperors that commanded roughly 42 out of the 100 colonies under one government. After hundreds of thousands of years of conflict the colonies stumbled upon a ancient and very powerful race that had been long extinct... The colonies used the technologies to their advantage but to get the techs they had to dig deeper and deeper into the planets seemingly un-ending labyrinth of underground installments...

One thing that was uncertain to both sides was why this great Empire that they were exploiting its technologies, had gone extinct. Unfortunately they were about to find out... On the 22nd of Septus in the year of 2387 AA the IAE uncovered the reason... the most powerful weapon in the universe... A biological disruptor which destroys any living thing on the planet was hidden more than 4600km into the planet (it was a very large planet) and they then realized that the race had not gone extinct but rather had hidden the weapon and abandoned it because it was so powerful...

Without realizing it the IAE accidentally activated the weapon which then started its countdown of 1 hour till full activation. now normally that wouldn't be much of a problem because they would just pull out their engineers and hyperspace outta there but on this day the largest land battle was unfolding roughly 4600km above their heads between the IAE and its enemies... Thus began the largest withdrawal of land troops in the shortest possible time... it was estimated that to have no casualties caused by the weapon the IAE would have to evacuate more than 2,500,000,000,000 troops in less than an hour, part of which were dropped on the planet using drop pods not transports...

The other problem that was presented was that they also had to help coordinate the evacuation of the IAE's allies which amounted to well over 7,500,000,000,000. So out went the order to evacuate all units ASAP, which obviously turned into pure chaos, infact the EVAC operation was even named Operation Chaos (which is also currently the name of the IAE's flagship, the IAE-Battleship Chaos). Yet another thing that complicated things was the immense space battle looming above the troops in the orbit of the planet, in fact it has been said that the battle was so severe that ships were hyperspacing into the atmosphere of the planet to escape the battle above, and debris from above was falling on the troops battling...

The reason this complicated things so much was because the ships would need to be able to receive the transport ships but the battle was so immense and sever that the average IAE Battle Cruiser had a life expectancy of 54 seconds... To put it into your imagination it was basically dogfights between capital ships... droidfighters were in short supply, or rather basically there were little to none which meant no possibility of escorting the transports out. Possibly the worst thing about it was that the IAE's current Emperor was on the planet commanding his troops... with all these complications its amazing that ANY people survived at all...

Word reached the IAE capital on the planet Tangren and they immediately sent all the ships they had left to aid in the evacuation, that is all except for one battalion which was sent to a still confidential planet to ensure the protection if the heir to the throne. Now there was a problem, with the IAE capital totally defenseless except for ground defenses, a unknown race warped in and began a ruthless assault on the capital. now the ships in hyperspace had the choice on whether to go and save their families back home or the countless number of soldiers on the war front, also not to mention the current Emperor was on the planet that was about to be wiped out...

One thing that further complicated things in a sense, was that the order from the Emperor himself was for the Captains of the ships to decide (he would've said for the troops to decide but they know little about the full situation and there were so many that it would delay the decision). So it was up to the Captains of each ship to decide their fate... die trying to save the ones you love or die for the very reason you joined the military, "For the People, For the Empire, and For the Emperor"...

With this decision at hand, some Captains defected, and on some ships mutiny occurred, but most decided to return home and aid in the defense of their planet. Back at the War front, things kept getting worse. Just as ships would hyperspace in they would be destroyed and furthermore over half the large ships were having to defend their ships from the inside because of the tactics the enemies used (they would pile drive pods of men into the hull to eradicate from the inside out). So with the evacuation going roughly no where the Emperor decided to try and tell the enemy leaders of their impending doom, but obviously they didn't listen, they took it as a sign the IAE's of defeat being close at hand and thought that they were trying to save their remaining forces. As a result of their stubbornness the IAE would need to think of an insane plan and fast.

As things just kept getting worse and worse, the Emperor finally came up with the plan that would have to be enacted... Logistics supported the idea as "the best possible solution" but the Generals refused to accept it due to its ruthless manner. Even so they knew that it had to be done. So the order went out across the Communications that by the command of the Emperor all units are to find their own way off the planet as quick as possible and for all personnel and spacecrafts to retreat effective immediately... To show that his true intent was to save as many lives as possible and not to just leave everyone and high tail it out of there the Emperor made the choice to stay and face certain doom with the weapon just 30 minutes away from full activation...

Back on the home planet of Tangren, there seemed to be no end of the relentless attack upon the Capital. The orbital bombing that occurred that day was so strong that it was penetrating the shields of the IAE Capital and surging the power grid, something that powerful had not yet been seen by the IAE. The fury in which their bombardments had was unbelievable, it was noted by the soldiers that the bombardment was so fierce that the sound of each individual bomb and beam all morphed into one continuous roar... for 6 straight hours. Soon after the shield was broken, the unknown enemy started shelling the Capital with troop carriers. The very fact that this was happening to the IAE Capital was considered impossible, never before and never since has the IAE capital been assaulted and had ANY damage done... AT ALL. Now, with the soldiers outnumbered and disarrayed, the unknown force soon secured the IAE Capital Building, which was thought to be the most secure building in all the universe. The soldiers had to try their best to evacuate all non-military personnel as well, but it was to no avail, almost all civilians in the Capital died...
