To add on to the conversation: If I am posting very few things, it is because a cruise ship is under construction. An 8-foot long cruise ship. Not soon, though. Count at least a year.

Well, the name "Pre-Dreadnaught" is a retro-active term for battleships made before HMS Dreadnaught of 1906. They're mostly characterized by having an armament of 4 main guns (usually 10-12 inch) along with a variety of smaller gun sizes. There were an absolute ton of these ships and they fought throughout WWI and some even fought into WWII, one of them survives as a museum in Japan.

Interesting. I've got a configuration of the Canopus class ship, and I couldn't help but see the resemblance to the older ships: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Canopus_class_diagrams_Brasseys_1906.jpg in the top left corner, you'll notice it has two gun decks, with the 6 inch at the bottom and 12 pndr guns at the top, if your still with me, the resemblances is the decks, and the weight ratios, the lighter guns being at the top and heavier being at the bottom.

An LDP stands for Landing Platform Dock, and is a new breed of ships that combines three different role (Landing ship, transport, and cargo) into one design. The U.S. navy is replacing a whole fleet with a few ships of this design.

LOL! I never finish my lunch cause my school gives a 25 minute period for it. So it's more like a 5 minute walk/convince teachers to let you go to the cafeteria, a 2 min wait to get in, and 5 min cleanup time. But on week ends I just skip lunch altogether or grab a peice of bread and wait for dinner! I'm not really helping myself out, am I? XD

Just a question: Does anyone know why the HMS Hood was the pride of the British Royal Navy? I've looked online and I can't find the answer. All I know is that it was built in 1918 as a battlecruiser and the British Navy chased down the Bismark after it sank the Hood.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermarine_Seafire A modified Spitfire could, the spitfire itself would take up too much room, so it's wings would have to be modified to fold up, plus the hook that is attached for when it lands (hook catches on to wire, and basically stop sit), and such stuff, and then general engine modifications for it to be able to operate out at sea.
