E.O.S., C.O.P "Conflict". Hmmm.
Join to comment
What's all this Hoo-haa about "C.O.P" this and "Die E.O.S. scum!" that? Danged youngsters, get of my MOCpages lawn! Seriously though. I guess it'd be an interesting way to pass the time and all, actually participating in something ongoing. Adds realism, I suppose. Not to be disrespectful or anything, but does anyone REALLY take this seriously? I don't even know half of who's actually participating. It does churn out some great MOCs though.

Fed is right, people take the conflict too seriously. Read my little rant about neutrality on MOCpages in my profile. I've mostly seen good MOCs coming from Rex, Fed, Moffat, Eturior, just to name a few. I have most respect for Rex, who is on the opposing side.

By the way Fed, I don't think you're a bad builder if that's what you're thinking. I just think that better builders deserve the popularity more than you.

I agree. Why, a year and a half ago, the United Nations of Earth was just a title I thought sounded good enough to put on my homepage. The conflict with the COP, and now I suppose, the EOS, is really, in my mind, a way for sci-fi lovers to build in ways other than Star Wars and Halo.

I agree with you John, For me (And hopefully others) It gives some more depth with the MOCs, instead of just posting a moc, Being a member of the COP, I now post it in order of the competition with the UNE & EOS, it adds a bit of fun to the whole scenario! I think the concept of having a war over MOCpages about lego is really cool, (Not a proper war!!!)

Wow, lots of responses! Usually, my topics become MOCpages 'dead-zones'. Thanks for shedding some light, Fed. Yes, it does produce some great MOCs. On the 'popularity' subject breached somewhere up; yes, the epic builders do tend to be less 'Active' (though they're probably busy with some legendary build). But, yes, MOCpages isn't about popularity. I have near no comments on my pages!

Gee, this may make me sound childish in the eyes of many (that means YOU, Areetsa! Kidding!), but I'm considering creating a group called the I.S.C.- the Imperial Shyyphastian Confederacy (my MOCpage). Then perhaps joining in the so-called conflict. I probably won't, though owning a group WILL earn me way more reviews, something I desperately need.

How should I know and more accurately why should I care.

Your hypercomplex politics are no concern of mine.

Unlike certain parties I could name, WE don't play with planet-sized warships.

OUR fleets have a new, highly advanced and amazingly useful ability that can change the course of a war with ease; it's called 'movement' and unlike a certain immobile warship, almost all UNEA vessels possess it.

No its just for fun on Mocpages. We pretend to hate each other so the other person makes a good moc and so on. So this war is all fake and it's just to get people to make good mocs by insulting them in away, but again it is all fake and fun at the same time.

But there are people to think this is real.

I am in it too but I agree with Fed its just for fun people! stop being so serious about it!

But that's always been true. Remember Saber-Scorpion? If you can tie your MOCs together with a common backstory, it's waaay easier to generate a huge fan base -- even if you're not the best builder in the world.

Nova Refuge.

You know there things called Fighters to defend these mighty Warships something that the U.N.E. could use.

LDPC-15 Valke.

Maybe not a fighter, per se, but a fairly formidable combatant none-the-less.

I only take part because it's the only thing keeping me from being a bored, pessimistic person.

Heck, I joined because it's a way to express my favorite genre, which is sci-fi. It's not like I'm gonna kill someone over it or anything. A little competition never hurt anybody.

Apparently you have never been to a high stakes pie eating contest and see someone die from choking on half a pie. Berta was some 300 pounds of woman, and could unhinge her jaw and swallow a chihuahua dog whole! She tried to swallow two pies at the Durham County Fair pie eating contest, and choked to death!!
So don't say a little competition never hurt anyone.

Why the people always stick with the popular things (Even me!) and not bring a new theme...

"Good" Example: Most of the MOCers's MOCs are based in the Star Wars theme, but there are people who bring something totally new, like the guy who created the WWIII thing and John Moffat, the guy who bringed us a new theme, the COP/UNE/EOS Conflict (The theme should have a name).

"Bad" Example: Fed goes E.O.S. and most of the "Rookie" MOCers [Sometimes I consider myself one of them or even I'm one of them!] try to join E.O.S, like Zek, he telled one friend to talk with Rex or Fed to join the E.O.S.

EDIT: Sorry if I insulted someone.
