Sorry for making you folks rework everything, but there's a lot of variety in this new starmap of ours.

Now, you people can decide in here which planets you want to have for your own purposes.

First up is Nayi, a fairly nice planet in the Fall system; it's a bit colder than Karbala, which is good; Karbala is almost all ocean and is a fairly hot tropical world; Nayi is rather earthlike, a positive Eden.

Oh, by the way, on the other end of the scale, anyone want a close-approach oval orbit planet?
It's hot enough to melt lead in the 'summer' and cold enough to make helium climb hills in the 'winter'.
It's called Nori, and it's in the Folly system, whizzing through the orbits of Arcadia and Ruzen.

And if you like deserts, I've got a good one for you: Nekovsky's World, a roasting oven in the day and a freezing... freezer by night.
In the Victory system.

All right, who wants what, and if you want, you can suggest one. Just... not too many parallel-earths, m'kay? Gas giants are fine, and so are just about anything else you care to name.
Oh, that reminds me: who wants Dante's World? It's currently unaligned and for good reason; it's in the middle of a giant asteroid field. That's right, Dante's World is a wanderer.

Oh, by the way: do you think we should invite some COP members? Some of these planets HAVE to go to them, you know. No fun having a whole galaxy to play with and no-one to fight.

Anyway, what I'm doing here is basically re-inventing the whole UNEiverse, so I need to know WHAT planets totally must be included; I'm sure there's one or two. By the way, the COP capital world is going to be put in only if they decide they want it inserted; see, it's very easy to hide a planet. You just kill all the scouts; starships stick out in the aether like a sore thumb.

Ummm... SETI needs Dornith (SETI HQ) on the map. Its all water, and can it be in the victory system? or in the Folly system? Ya the Folly system.

Have you looked at the map lately?
Folly's a bit full.
How's Star's End sound to you? It's an orange/yellow supergiant, and so far it's orbit is about empty.
Typhoon's a potential option as well.

Have a look at this if you want; the ones ringed in purple haven't been started on yet.
There's also the Over system, but I need a new name for that. There's also a number of uncharted systems about.

Oh yeh, anyone want Arcadia? It's a nice place, and the only inhabitable planet in the Folly system. Trust me, you don't want Ruzen.

'Kay, Ackroyd's got Nekovsky's World, SETI's got Dornith in the... yeah, I think it can go in Star's End.
Anyone want a large comet? It gets a bit toasty in the 'summer', but you've got more than three hundred years of skiing!

Hows Alpha III? Dornith would fit snugly in there. no travleing through COP space then.

Okay, AIII it is then.

You don't actually need to worry about the COP systems; a starship at trans-light speeds is impossible to intercept.

A question: is Dornith either 'normal' in temperature, slightly cold or hot? That is, near the poles would it be about tropical temperature and positively roasting near the equator?

Tropical all around and colder at the poles.

As I said in the other place, I gave it a moon.

I'll take Dante's world. I have a cool idea for asteroids. Also because I seggested putting Waar in there could you give it a moon? Go ahead and name it sion.
| March 18, 2009, 3:39 pm
Oh, I gave it a moon all right.

In a... manner of speaking.

Waar and Sion are now orbiting each other; Waar has a moon so large it drags its host along with it, in the opposite direction.

Speaking of moons, anyone want Sayama? It's Dornith's moon. How about Yuri? I'll admit it's a roasting lump of airless rock, spinning through the void, but at least it's consistent with its host world of Corsical Nueva; man that one's Hot. With a capital H.

Wow. nice physics idea. I guess that makes the two masses just that much cooler.
| March 18, 2009, 9:58 pm
Well, it's really very basic gravitational physics. I can't really tell you WHY it would work, but I do know it's doable.

Now, you might end up smashing into something large and heavy sometime in the next million years, but that's not really important.
After all, you're in a nebula. If you break this planet, the lumps will just come together and make a new one.

Mmm... Mightn't that make it a bit hard to get to the Vodka? You'd be going down from A (for Absinthe) to V (for Vodka) and chances are you'd get sidetracked somewhere. Besides, you only need about a klick to store every acoholic beverage known..

Ohhh, I see. Emergency backups, just in case your grandparents stop by to have a look at what you've been up to with your father's fortune. Bribe them with Booze. I see.

You'd best watch out for Kraid, though. A mass of Free Booze that big would be sure to attract him.

No, not really. See, as long as he doesn't need to pay for it and it contains alcohol, Kraid'll eat (or drink) anything.

No,No,No Plans are to make the moon hollow. put up 100,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons of strobe lites. Put the millions of tons of rock onto the top of the moon have the most skilled cavers in the galexy make the moon look like a

Right, just a little explanation for anyone who might happen to be looking in: originally I had some grand plan for reinventing the whole UNE-COP situation and marking down every single planet, but eventually this evolved into the UNE-COP Conquest group starmap.

So, the job for marking the whole galaxy is still out there if any of you are mad enough to attempt to map every single star, planet, moon, asteroid and chunk of space garbage.
