Are there any height restrictions?

Nope, but it can't have more than 1 floor (like a themed tower would, for instance).

Note of course that your vigs may fall under several categories at once, just indicate the "main" one you're using, you can use the secondary categories as many times you wish.
Example: if you post 4 vigs all containing humour, the important thing is that they fall also into another category.

There is no humor category though. I'm confuzzled.

Can we start building now?

Can we start building now? How many entries can we make? As many as we want?

Read the rules. There is a comedy category. One entry per person.

I've read the rules, duh as I quoted them, comedy and humor are not the same thing.

I simply pointed out how you can put humour in every category you choose, even outside the strictly "comedy" category.

How about now? The important thing is that you don't post anything outside the time frame (rule #1).

So our entry is 4 4x4 vigs? As in 1 entry which is 4 4x4 vigs.
Or is it 4 entries each containing a 4x4 vig?

One entry must present four 4x4 vigs.
Something like this http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/262112.

I would like to use one of these http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30503 as the base for one of my vignettes, but is that allowed?

Why not? It's cool, and half the times you don't use the full surface of a minivig anyway.

You can have multiple minivigs sharing a theme, but you must present them under a different theme each, if they fit in other themes as well.

Is it okay to do multiple entries?

No. Only one entry containing exactly 4 4x4 vigs is allowed. Though you could ask the judges if it's ok to withdraw you entry and present another, since it's so early in the game and your original entry followed all the rules.
But it's up to them, really.

How much overhang could I have? Is 12 studs of overhang acceptable?

I think that would be excessive. In theory you could build a massive castle or starship balanced on a 4X4 base. I don't think those were Yuri's intentions.
"Rule 3-Overhang: try to limit overhang to small details: a fig's body part here, an item there, a small detail, a SXF, etc. Try to make as little overhang as possible."
Sorry, Dude.

And now for a REAL question: I see minifigs in every vig. Is that a rule too, or is microscale allowed (meaning no minifig)?

Well I think it's safe that you can use microscale, after all I got away with it without too much trouble.

Hey Yuri, should the judges post the scores on the individual mocs by commenting or put them in a conversation thread?

Hey Yuri, should the judges post the scores on the individual mocs by commenting or put them in a conversation thread?

You don't have to go that far, just stick to the Judging Rules.
Choose your favourite 3 pages (6, 4, 2 points), choose your 3 favourite vigs (3, 2, 1 points) and post the results in the "judging" thread.
You can comment on the entries if you wish, like anyone else (it would be appropriate, so contestants know you judges checked the entries thoroughly), but you don't need to judge in the comments.
