Dawn Forge Enemy Group???
Join to comment
Ok, so I was wondering Brian..... I absolutely LOVE your Dawn Forge theme, and I think that some of these Dawn Forge creations are truly incredible, but I was thinking..... would you mind if I make an enemy group against Dawn Forge? I was thinking of a group make by the U.K., plotting to overthrow the United States and once again bringing back the old strength of the British Empire. Please tell me of any reason at all that you object to this, and if you would rather me just disband the idea, just tell me. I will wait to make the group until you give the say-so. Anyone who has any ideas can, of course, comment.

Hey Jacob,

There is no telling when Brian will get back to you, and seeing as how I asked a similar question in the past I'll take the liberty to sum up what Brian told me:

Quoting Brian Kescenovitz
“Dawn Forge is actually the name given to the combined military forces of the Eye of Dawn, a sovereign nation formed following the collapse of the United States of America after it’s catastrophic second civil war.”

So while the Eye of Dawn is certainly the dominant power in North America (comprising the western half of the former U.S.A. as well as most of Canada and all of Alaska.), the rest of the world is still there. While the DF certainly has the technological edge with it’s mechs, that doesn’t mean that the rest of the world won’t want a piece of their action.

Of particular annoyance is the eastern half of the former U.S.A., which now teems with rebel factions seeking to grab power and resist DF control. Many of these factions are supported by European and Asian powers who are concerned with the military strength of the DF and seek to undermine it at any cost. The hotly contested and ever changing Southeastern Front runs roughly along the St. Lawrence seaway, Great Lakes, and Mississippi river, but has at times has shifted as far west as New Mexico and as far east as Georgia.

So, Zane, I guess my point is that you can make any kind of enemy you want for the DF, as long as it makes sense with the general storyline. A rebel warlord pushing to try and retake St. Louis? Go for it. A North German sleeper cell detonating a tactical nuke in Denver to try and disable the Rocky Mountain Communications Array? Throw it down, baby. An invasion of three headed aliens from the planet Klatu? Not so much…

haha close, it's "Csek" (a good way to remember, it's just the first four letters of Brian's last name spelled backwards!)

I haven't forgot the Csek, of course(they are amazing, I love them), but I thought it would be cool to make an alternative enemy group to Dawn Forge. It just seems to make it interesting to me. If you want to view or join my group, the United Kingdom Defense Association(U.K.D.A.), here it is. http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/16942

There is another thread in this group about Dawn Forge enemies. I mentioned a faction I want to use in a future MOC. This is the Euro-Asian Alliance (EAA). It is basically the Europian Union allied with China (Europe needs China's resources and military power while China merely tolerates Europe). It fits in with Brian's basic storyline and I think having another military power almost as powerful as DF could be very interesting. I think I'll start playing with this idea soon. And Jacob, I think your idea about the UK attempting to undermine DF has some awesome possibilities!

Actually, I was thinking of asmall, latinoamerican country, that sent forces to help fight the rebels, having special training against guerrillas.
Maybe Russia could help.

I've built a few MOCs from a "Dusk Forge". i just created it for those MOCs as a small group who oppose the DF, even though they don't have enough resources or military tact to actually win any large battles.

also the word "twilight" has so many negative connotations nowadays... haha

I like the idea of Russia assisting the DF, but maybe have a new country, such as Oceana (Oh-SEE-ana), comprised of Australia, New Zealand and all of the other islands around there would be a good choice? I imagine that dawn forge takes place around 100-200 years in the future, seeing as brian said that most of the habitable moons/planets in our solar system have been colonized, and I forsee that happening within that time period.
