Therans

I decided we need some enemies. Ages ago Andrew made the 'Therans'. They were some kind of anti-BMM rebels using stolen and modified XTs. In my unfortunately not to be finished for a while story 'Theran Strike' they are much the same. Later in that series I was planning to introduce a back-story to the Therans. I might post it here or in a creation sometime.
Here, you can talk about them and any ideas.

Here is an overview of the Theran organisation as was on Morhdia before Thunder Dawn. This is for LT only, other factions of CBMC will have other versions of the Therans (or they could use this).
--[Warning: Spoilers for 'Theran Strike' ahead]--
---LT Data File: Restricted Access - Class 2---
THE THERAN ORGANISATION - Abridged Copy
Leader: Teardrop
2IC: Az
Az is the second in command of the Therans. He is the one who deals with the other Therans, as Teardrop has not been seen for over 50 years, due to the his great age.
Their aim is to destroy Legopolis Tech and it's CEO, Prof. David M. The reasons behind this are unknown. They have many spies within LT, unfortunately they are hard to find and even those who check the employees might be Therans themselves. These spies keep an eye on LT and send the designs for LT mechs to Therans for production.
Recently, some strange new units have been encountered. They seem not to be pure mechs, but hybrids of living and mechanical parts.
Another anomaly recently observed sugests that the Therans are attacking other Therans. We believe that the Therans are no longer one organisation, and have broken apart into two or more smaller factions. Hopefully this will help with the war effort.
Also, one team, Legopolis Tech Reconnaissance 7, have reported that they were in possession of a weapon that is more powerful than the Apocalypse Laser tenfold. Their team leader, Lt. Edward Grant has been reported to be possibly mentally unstable. Therefore, we believe this to be poppycock.
All units are authorised to disable any person(s) who have been shown to be a Theran. Capital punishment is not tolerated by LT however, and the killing of anyone will be considered murder.

Director of Information, Oswald Wright
---End File---

Of course, there is always more going on than anyone can know (except the guy making it up).

I've decided to attempt a LEGO 'comic'. I'm going to begin with Theran Strike: The Farglow Facility. It'll be an edited version of the one I began on the LMBs. I hope to get up a post each week or fourtnight. I'll start this week or next.

DUDE ED this is a sick idea! I have actually been pondering making a lego commic based around CBMC/XT (would actually be a comic not a DbM post using images from LDD as well as some photoshop) Can i help you write bits of this story? I like the idea of doing it in the style of data sheets/case study records kind of concept.

This is a bit of topic, but while we talk of stories I'm starting another theme, this will also include a semi-complex backstory like the one my LT theme will have when I get around to posting it all and making creations to go with it.
The new theme is Thunder Dawn. Each week for six weeks I will post a file on a different aspect of Thunder Dawn. This week's is a basic overveiw. Four the next four weeks I will post about each of the four factions. On the sixth week I will reveal the 'big secret', though you might be able to guess at it by then.

Theran Strike is already mapped out in my head, but I have an idea for a second story in about the same time and place. This story is about the adventures of Samantha 'Shortsword' Chen. She is a Theran captain leading an attack on a base she has been told is owned by LT.

From here on there are SPOILERS about what might become a comic. Read at own risk.

This story could be told from the data files that have been sent to Wright by a signal monitor working for LT. He has hacked Shortsword's mech, and is watching and listenting to the mission from her point of veiw.
Shortsword has actually been sent to take down a based owned by Teardrop. He was the founder of the Theran organisation on Morhdia, but his second in command Az took over. Az still tells the Therans they are working for Teardrop , but he is 'too sick and old to speak to them' and must use Az as a go-between.
Teardrop took the best and loyalest Therans with him when he left. Together they set up 'Calypso' (it translates to 'the hidden' in greek). Working against both LT and the Therans Calypso hopes to destroy both.
When Shortsword begins to doubt the base is LT she is sent 'back up'. These 'higher up the ladder' Therans have been told to help her complete the mission, then eliminate her unit.
Will she survive?
END OF SPOILERS
