Hay ED!

Finally, success in contacting you outside of DbM! You have no idea how long I've been trying. Lego really does a good job in keeping us closed off from each other. Glad you picked up my hint about MOCpages on the Lego Times 3 forum, and the liked creator email. We should see about getting chunkblaster and Brickmania over here!

As a side note, you might want to join the MLN group I'm a part of.

Hi Bio (If you would prefer Andrew just say),
I actually got an email from MOCpages tell me that you made me one of your fave builders. So I came here and looked at my account for the first time in ages. Later that night I saw your MOCpages hint. Yes, we should get Jak too if we can.

I just joined the MLN group. Too bad Shortr99 deleted his account. Now I know how you knew he was definitely gone. :(
Speaking of 'going', may I ask why you left all those months ago?

Also, out of interest, do you have Spore?

And I just remembered to make you an Admin!

Well, however you figured it out, I'm glad you did. I left because I decided to pursue other creative endeavors. In case you haven't picked up some hints from the forums, I love to write, and have written a few books (none finished).

Yes, I actually do have Spore, although I never play it anymore. You wouldn't happen to be posting on the Sporepedia, would you?

I had a brilliant idea to get chunk and jak over here. I'll tell you soon.

Yeah, I'm EroomDivad on the sporepedia, but not much of my stuff is that good on there.

Do you mind if I just call you David? You can call be Andrew. Pretty smart using your own name backwards for a lego account. By the way, robotinventor9179 is non-existent. I don't have a little brother at all, but a little sister. That whole thing was just a ploy for me to experience what it would be like working under someone. Unfortunately, I had no time to make extra creations.

How did you work out my name? :P Okay, Andrew. My Dad came up with that one. And didn't your little brother say he worked it ou-.
RobotInventor9179 was a ploy! How dare you? Nah, I don't mind. I'm actually pleased you chose me over Jak.

SImple. Your original MOCpages name was Eroomdivad try it backwards. That was when I figured it out, also ironically when I started the robotinventor account. Glad you're not too offended. I can only imagine what Jak or chunk or zillafan would say if they found out!

I don't know what Jak or ZF would say but I think Chunk would care even less than me. He's the only AFOL on the MBs who seems at all chilled. Have you noticed that both BrickMania and ForteNoir seem ready to get into an argument at the slightest thing?

This was not written by Chunk I'm just testing.

I just looked at the Stalwart. And for a machine of war it does have that 'dance robot' air about it. :P
The Jester is, well, the Jester. The same good old Chunk style.

Thanks for the 'If CBMC is GM then LT is Chevrolet'. Though it should be 'if CBMC is GM then LT is Holden'. :P
Are all our 'buddy icons' just black squares for you? All mine are. Andrew's worked ariginally but now it's the same as yours and mine. BTW, mine is meant to be the 'Legopolis Tech, The Rising Sun' logo.

They were black squares for me too, but I was able to find a way for it to work. The LDD screenshots are saved in PNG format, and I don't think those work here. What I did was take the screenshot and use the snipping tool (available by default on most newer computers, you may have to download it) to take a JPEG picture of the displayed PNG. I'll be changing the main group picture soon.

That guy's awesome! I can see the relation between the Titan, Titan 2 and the Foundation. Most CBMC mechs fit the 'design brief' on his page for Dawn Forge. I wish I had the bricks to build that stuff.

LOL gopol tech huh? nice personal pic ED =P go into paint and edit it and make it a perfect square and it should work fine (in the bottom right in paint it tells you how many pixels by how many pixels you have selected, so it gives you length and width, that should help)

Hey Richie,

First off, I'd like to congratulate you for picking up on the hint we left on the LMBs. You're the first one. Hopefully more will show up.

Next, I have to plainly ask you (warning, blunt statement ahead) what are those odd pole/antenna structures on the back of all your mechs? I don't personally care for them, but I suppose it may add to the feel for you.

Finally, although I know your intentions are good, there's just something about you that bugs me. I don't know what it is, but it's just something funny that happens whenever I read your posts. Don't take this too badly, I get that sort of feeling about Brickmania1 and fortenoir also.

Glad to have you here.

O-k . . . That failed. Anyways, moving on. I kinda guessed you made you the whole 'little brother' thing since you announced it ages ago yet never made creations - just hype :P Also, I can announce that a new mech has been plonked on the drawing board. Only one foot is done, but it will be massive (not as massive as some of chunk's though!).

Hey Andrew,(better than calling you "Bio" i guess) If It's OK with you, id like to start a new subdivision. I want to call it "Dragonstar Tech" Dragonstar Tech, instead of building mechs, would specialise in a new military vehicle concept called the MCV or Modular Combat Vehicle. There would also be Modular Navel Vehicles and Modular Areospace Vehicles. The MCV system operates on the same concepts as XT's universal mech-frame system (XT-13-35, UXM-1, and TAM-6-X so far) and would act as a suplement to several CBMC mechs.
So, what do you think?

I know you asked Andrew this and I don't mean to sound controlling, but I do feel like I have a say in this. That's not a bad idea, you could do a modular system kind of like our standard mechs made of several different interchangable sections. I am perfectly ok with this as long as you use current CBMC standard weapon systems (hard mount, omnihub, joint mount, light & heavy turrets, etc.)Try to stick with either mine or bio's color scheme as well for the factory standard version of the model (kind of like how all armor kits for the XT's are stock gray) but you can still have a custom color version too.

I just now found your post. First things first; those "poles" only appear on a few of my mechs. They are Rod Type EMLGs (ElactroMagnetic Lift Generator) in relativly inaccurate layman's terms: AntiGrav devices. Also you shouldn't let whatever it is about me become a problem; I often become frustrated at the fact that i can respond to your assignments instantly, where as you seem take forever to reply to my posts.

PS If you find that my raction speed is what bothers you, that's easily explainable; im homeschooled, so im at home all the time and don't have homework.

It's not the reaction speed at all. Don't worry about what I said. I'm homeschooled also, I'm home all the time also, and I don't have homework also. However, I do have a plethora of interests, including: writing (novel), computer graphics modeling (CGI), claymation, general animation, drawing, and snowboarding. Combine that with school (five to six hours a day), and you can easily see how responding to comments on lego sites and making lego robots can get lost in there. Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's the truth.

Speeking of snowboarding I'll be taking a Ski trip this weekend and will be gone from friday to monday just to let everyone know.
And to richie, It's not so much the weapons themselves as the weapon mounts. But if you want some examples of weapons just look at my stuff on the DbM gallery. Omnihub and Hardmount weapons are featured on my standard mechs, look at the breakdowns for specific parts. The parts will be listed in the description.

The dang collaborative mecha theme fell through wen boyoboy forgot about his participation and everyone got bored. But we're already a tight nit group of guys lets do a group build! I propose a hovertank. I've tried several attempts at hover tanks and none seam to work. So were going to do this just like the colaborative mecha project and each of us will design a portion. I want everyone's oppinion on this before we break it down into different sections.

You're off to a good start there ED! My favorite is the first one that slightly resembles a modern day tank, though I do feel they look a bit too simple. I was hoping you could add a little detail to them and bulk them up just a bit.

I've never really had the chance to, due to 2 reasons: firstly we rarely go abroad after we got stuck in Italy due to terroist (spelling?)activity, and secondly my school fees kinda sap at resources :p Anyways, what kind of tank did you have in mind? I've been toying with the idea of a very angled one, kinda like those boats and planes made so as not to show up on radar. I'd be happy to make the main body work.

Which of my concepts do you like best?

The Dragonstar Technologies MCV project is going just fine except that I havemade ZERO PROGRESS. This is due to the fact that the school year is not yet out, and therefore, my creativity is VERY low due to lack of boredom. Therefore, Dragonstar Technologies is temporarily going out of bussiness. The MCV project will resume at the beginning of Summer Vacation; When the boredom kicks in. BTW; My MOC production is at an absolute freeze due to LACK OF NEW MATERIAL TO WORK WITH. I Apologise, but I've tried to work with the TAM-X, but it just doesn't work out. Hmmm... Maybe I'll Try Again. in fact, I'll do that right now. My point is that Andrew told us that the UXM-2&3 projects were "nearly finished" and i feel that we've been waiting too long (no offence....I think...) Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. and by suggestion i mean inspiration.

Okay, yeah, let's just take this down a little. Richie's original comment caught me off guard. Do you really need material from me to do your own work? Oh, and the UXM-2 project is finished, it just doesn't have captions written for the models. And the UXM-3 project is definitely not nearly finished. BTW, waiting is good for you. Waiting for something good is even better for you.

Yeah! I've invited him to this group, so he can join the chat. Also, I was thinking we might want to switch the name of this group to something like The LDD Designers or something that doesn't imply that this is just for CBMC/XT members (of which there seems to be a short supply).

I'm not surprised, I posted a huge invite to everyone over there to come over here. Also, chunk, you might want to check out the WW forum, BBB has got himself in some trouble, and someone wants to buy the design to the Panther Light Mech.

BBB's got himself into trouble with Eli... that's not really that hard to do. He's got Twig and Zero so he should be fine. Anyway, while I talk about WW, I was thinking that I might go bakc to DbM just to play WW. I'm planning to play as the Therans this time though, just to mix it up.
About you thinking you're banned, I got that a while ago. To make it work:
1. Close all tabs/windows with LEGO.com on them.
2. Open a new window and go to LEGO.com.
3. Click 'edit profile'.
4. Login when requested.
5. You should now be able to go to the MBs and post.

Why would any of you ever want to go back to DbM or the LEGO forums ever again? MOCpages has a much better package of services, FULL HTML CUSTOMIZATION OF YOUR ENTRIES, allows us to post multiple images per entry, has mods that are way less strict and who don't force your posts through overly-long, overly-obtuse moderating procedures, and has much better builders. We never have to deal with Elilizard ever again. EVER AGAIN! Don't you guys understand that?

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be pulling up some of my older kits in LDD Universe mode for rebuilds and new paint. Google it.

I know you don't care for WW, and everything you've said is true about the gallery. But even so, WW gives us the chance to compete with other builders. When I first got LDD4 to work I thought of returning to the DbM gallery, but I couldn't be bothered. But now it's almost summer for all you nothern hemisphere guys and WW's about to pick up again, plus I've got school holdiays in a week's time, so I'll have a ton more time to build.

And about LU Mode, I didn't realise it still worked on LDD4. Is getting it to work the same as it was for LDD3?

I think this is different, what many people (including myself) had was a glitch caused by a folder that needs to be deleted or renamed. Go to the DbM FAQ on LEGO.com to see the fix, that's how I got mine working.

I was hoping you could tell me if you have a preference on which one I should do, as well as around how big it'd be in minifig scale (I was guessing around the size of an MBS but I'm not sure) And of course you can help if you'd like, in case there's any specific design features you'd like to see added in a scaled up version.

I Know this is forte's thing, not mine, but if im not badly mistaken (i might be thinking of the wrong mechs here) Forte's mechs might be too big for minifig scale. (again i might have my information confused...)

Hey fortenoir, when you get a chance I wana talk to you about something. For a while now I've been wanting to do a minifig-scale version of one of your mechas. I was hoping you could tell me if you have a preference on which one I should do, as well as around how big it'd be in minifig scale (I was guessing around the size of an MBS but I'm not sure) And of course you can help if you'd like, in case there's any specific design features you'd like to see added in a scaled up version.

If you want to do one of them in a large scale, feel free. I'd recommend an easier one, like the Emperor or Ballista. If you find one with an opening cockpit, remember that the small central square under it is the cockpit block. Minifigs should scale appropriately. You may take creative liberties with all hinges, joints and opening and closing bits to make the design work a little easier or to add a little extra detail (Master Grade-ify, if you will).

Alright, I've just uploaded the UXM-1.T Harbinger. Please check it out and comment. I'll be uploading some more later (maybe, I've got a friend coming over and homework to do.)

EDIT: Uploaded the UXM-1.T Bastion. Might do another, but that will be it for sure.

EDIT: Of course, I had time, so I uploaded the next UXM-1.T.

Yeah, I had it too but I'm afraid i lost interest pretty quickly. Only real reason i got it was so that we could have a proper HQ where we could all meet at in real time. But the chat limitations pretty much ruined that idea.
Yeah, Lego even found a way to moderate what we say in a video game -.-

I know the chat is somewhat . . . limited . . . but Lego had their reasons. I mean, you don't want teens swearing on it when kids as young as six play it as well. Plus, if they included numbers, then people could give out phone numbers, etc etc . . .

Yeah, same here. I figured you could maybe make something and later be able to bring it with you while wandering around the various worlds (which were disappointingly small) I was kind of banking on the idea that I could create a working version of one of my mechs, but there's no way. I guess I was expecting a lego Gmod.

So I decided to check the DbM message boards tonight cause I was board, and I see Andrew has managed to sneak a little smack talk passed the mods on war world forum XD
I'd almost be willing to argue in their defense if it weren't for the fact that twigg tends to revert to an Elilizard state when he feels threatened in his own game. I actually designed this system for War World and almost everyone rejected it even before the mods did. But who's laughing now!
Seriosly though, for a pacifist Andrew knows how to sling some mud, and it's quite hilarious XD

The funniest thing about it is that twig seems kinda clueless. I'm not a complete pacifist, I just don't like when elilizard type people (or should we rename it "the twig22 personality"?) are against me and think that no matter what, they will always win.

Ha LOL, we're a pack o' gamers.
One of my friends (TheGreyRock on DbM, trying to get him to make a MOCpages account) loves Glitch in the System, but his one is really glitched.
You have GOT to play RCF2 (Ratchet and Clank Future 2: A Crack in Time) it has modifiable weapons, constructo weapons! A c' pistol (which I like to make really heavy but my brother likes to use like a N60 Storm), a c' bomb glove (Bouncer FTW) and a c' shotgun (2nd fave gun in whole game, you just can't beat the RYNO V). RAC: Deadlocked? I presume you mean Gladiator? (That's the Aussie edition.)
Did you know that what you would call Going Commando is Locked and Loaded here? 'Going commando' has another meaning here.

Now see why I was asking about consoles before. I wanted to see what the rest of you did to waste time (other than LEGO of course). Do you play COD? My friend has Black Ops but I epic fail at it.

Hm. Fair point :P. Also, I just finished Inkheart (very good), and while I wait for the library to get Inkspell in, I'm going to reread the Gone series.

Bwahahaha! Another one turned!
I tried reading Inkspell, but it got boring. Cornelia Funke is still and awesome writer though. Have you read The Theif Lord? Pure epicness (but the movie stinks).

Did you know that what you would call Going Commando is Locked and Loaded here? 'Going commando' has another meaning here.

Now see why I was asking about consoles before. I wanted to see what the rest of you did to waste time (other than LEGO of course).
Uh, ED, it means the same thing here... 'snickers'.

Well, in the buisness of wasting time, I am rather a CEO. Spore you already know about (I am a member of the GCG clan there), I do claymations, I procrastinate, memebase (no one under 13 should go there), and some other assorted activities.

GCG?
Procrastination really is fun. Especially when it comes to homework.
I just had a look at memebase. Two things came into my head; LOL and WT*.

Yeah, rage comics and comixed are actually my favorite there. Memebase is just a name to collectively hold any unspecified lols.

Just to let you know, I posted a mosaic on my page dedicated to, well, how about you go there and find out. I'm not going to be posting it here because it doesn't fall under the category of mechs.

EDIT: oh, and chunk, eli wants to join CBMC again. He's copied several of your classic models as an attempt. You might want to post something or write something in the LMBs.
