Any ideas on how to sell a huge ammount of lego's, which consists almost entirely of lego sets, including some now-collector ones. I've been growing my collection since i was about 4, and now that I have started building guitars and amplifiers, funds are running a bit short, so if anybody has a good method to get a fair value out of this, please let me know.

I'd say eBay. List complete sets individually and various weights of certain types of pieces, like 1/2 pound of various gears / axles / pins, or 1 pound black legos. Say, I'm interested in buying. I also have some audio/video cables and connectors that we might do a trade. Have a fair amount of black? I would use Bricklink's quantity average prices for piece values.

I understand that some of the people on Mocpages would love to have the black pieces, and i don't mind selling that to them, it's just the collectors sets and stuff that I would have to get parts lists for, and start digging through 180lbs. of legos for thats the P.I.T.A. I think the most expensive set I have now, is the Jango Fett's Slave I collectors edition model (the one with the black box), so a small number of the sets will definitely be sold separately. With regards to the bulk/varied lots, do these tend to draw a fair price, or is just a cheap method of getting lots of parts?

It's usually the latter, but if you have the time to set up an inventory, then Bricklink is the way to go. But you said 180 lbs?! Wow, that I'd lean heavily toward bulk selling. Anyway, for cheapness, it depends on what the buyer wants. I rarely go on eBay for Legos but that's because I need certain qtys of certain pieces and I don't want to also pay for a bunch I don't need. Some folks love to buy in bulk cause they don't have specific parts in mind, but want a bunch from a category. I did that with axles, gears and axle joints. So... I would list on eBay and sell to select members of the MOCpages Gun Smiths community.

Based on the huge quantities that I have, as well as the massive amount of schoolwork that accompanies exam week, I will be able to start sorting, cataloging, and listing lots by Saturday at the earliest.
