Real guns that you own

Does anybody own any real guns? I have a Remington 552 Speedmaster, which is an old (really, really old!) semiautomatic .22 rifle. Also, my dad has a .22 magnum revolver, but I'm not sure what kind it is.

I have a huge list of some real guns I own with my father. Here they all are!

2 Marlin semi auto .22 rifles. 1 with scope, and other without. Won both. Mine also has a 24k gold trigger! (How nice)

2 12 gauge Winchester Shotguns mine has a slug barrel too! Won my shotgun too!

1 30-30 lever action rifle (Winchester)

1 .243 deer rifle, its mine and it has my grandpa's scope on it. Used it to kill my first deer :). (Made by Stevens)

2 .270 rifles, 1 Winchester (Mine) I also won it, and 1 Remington (My father's) he uses it as his deer rifle.

1 odd Remington semi auto, was my grandpa's but has major problems with the bolt.

Well, that is a lot! Anyway I think its about 10 guns I own. Most of them, we have won. So you may think this costs a ton, but when your in my family, God seems to be kind. Anyway hope you like the list!

Poor little deer...

Sadly, I don't own any guns. Here in Holland, it's the law. It's hard to find an airsoft gun, so a real gun would be impossible here.

But I've fired a Walther P5 on the shooting range of the police. My aunt works as trainer there, so I was VERY lucky ;)

Lol the poor little deer. Well, I heard him running through the woods at about 5am on a Sunday. I was sitting in my tree stand and he was right below me. Took the safe off, bleated and shot him through the back. He is a good tasteing one too! I love the venison they give..... mmmmm tasty! Tiny deer though.

i travel around the world with my family cause of my dad's job, in gabon i bought an ak47 for 15 dollars, lol, what a deal! my dad didn't let me use it till this year, but its illegal to use in alot of places, so id don't use it much, its fun but it kinda hurts your shoulder, the kick is like a kangaroo kicking you in the arm and i cant hit like anything when i use it but yo cant exactly call me a good marksman lol. my favorite guns are the AK-107, fnh mk17 cqc and hk g36, my dad allowed me to shoot it while i was in Germany at a test firing range, it had excellent accuracy and firepower in my opinion in comparison to various other guns iv tested around the world the past couple years. never tested the ak 107, it just looks cool and i hear its a good gun. the fnh mk17 WOW, great gun and when you pick it up it feels like a toy, you could throw it like a golf ball, its so light but the thing packs one heck of a punch, 40mm, not really that powerful, but certainly aint week and its got an mk13 grenade launcher on it EPIC. I got to test one of m in Belgium couple years ago, what an experience and the people sounded really funny when they talked there. my second favorite, i got 2 second favorites, they are the Chicago type writer and the m14. Both are excellent guns, with few flaws if any, the Thompson's flaw is the weight, but the 45 pistol round was excellent for an automatic, the bullets actually went slower when fired from teh Thompson witch caused more damage, it basically shredded it's target, they were state of the art when teh mafia was using them back in the 30s, the feds had no access to guns to weapons like that although they didn't get ahold of the b.a.r, the only reason they became obsolete was cause they were to expensive, the m14 is exposed to be the most accurate assault rifle, the military just didn't need a gun so good, they only take what they need cause thats whats easy to afford. But if price weren't a factor, i do believe the m14 would be one of the world's best guns if not the best its self. Who can forget teh ak47 though, in general, it probably is the best assault rifle not my fav though, AK-47 is usually just a catch-all term for 7.62x39mm Kalashnikov rifles, most so-called "AK-47s" in popular culture particularly in the united states are actually either Egyptian Maadi ARM copies of the highly improved AKM, or variants of the Chinese Norinco Type 56, they all look very similar

well now i see we are talk'n bout dads, i think the list is gona be alil bigger, he doesn't let me use his, most of his are prized classics from relatives, he keeps them locked up in our "armory" witch really seems more like a thick wall closet, hes got alota side arms, he has a full auto glock 17, a IMI Desert Eagle Mark XIX 50cal, even if i wanted to i couldn't shoot that thing, it is sooooo loud, my ears would fall off, he has a Beretta 92FS, TEC-9, Taurus PT92, Walther PPK, Beretta 93R and Heckler & Koch USP. Now, the big guns, hes gota M1903 Springfield, a Sawed Off Colt 1878 Double Barrelled Shotgun, M1917 Enfield, an M1 Garand, FN Model 1949, M14 rifle, Spencer 1882 shotgun, M1 carbine, a IMBEL MD2, an IMI Galil, hes got 2 XM16E1 Rifles, M3 submachine gun and a AR-10 battle rifle

I am not a complete fanatic about it, but it is a real possibility. There are already so many laws restricting gun owners in California that it's ridiculous, like putting a navy Luger stock on an artillery Luger is a felony (plus the 10-rd capacity limit, no full auto weapons, no flash suppressors, etc). Many people (more Democrats than Republicans) want to completely ban guns in the United States. Even if guns are banned and they are removed from the hands of the public, the black market will still exist and guns will still be available to those who access guns illegally. Think about it: most violent crime is committed with firearms obtained illegally: Full-auto AK-47s are a weapon of choice, which can only be gotten by illegal means as they too are banned. Also, why do you think schools are a location of choice for these maniacs? The sad reality is that schools are "gun free zones". There may only be one or even no security officer on campus that carries a loaded firearm. I would feel exponentially safer if all of the officers were issued a gun. Plus, many criminals are more afraid of a homeowner with a gun than the police, since the police have to be called to the scene and have to follow their set of rules when the homeowner can just shoot on sight for self defense (gun laws have also restricted the homeowner to only shooting if the offender in IN the house, on the front or back lawn is not good enough, otherwise the owner can be prosecuted). So banning guns will remove our ability to protect ourselves from criminals unless we can also stop people from accessing the black market, which I think is very unlikely. I hope this all makes sense, but let me know if it doesn't. :)

Yeah, the stock and 10 round capacity is nonsens. And the absence of the security officers is not such a good choice. I mean, no offence to you all, but mostly in the USA those boys with guns come into school with guns, so that's why it's better to have like 10 security officers in the whole school, and locks on the doors of the classrooms.

Also, to me, this also has no sence:

Civilian-legal semi-automatic firearms. I mean, Thompson M1927s and semi-automatic AK-47s are still dangerous, and still can be used for robbing a bank or something.

But shooting at forces who are going to take off your guns, is just not good at all.

Correct! The criminal usually does not even have to pull the trigger, and one shot is enough to frighten almost any civilian in a place like a bank.

Quoting Tom Jongejans But shooting at forces who are going to take off your guns, is just not good at all.

Exactly. Shooting at the police for this tops the ridiculous list. If the authorities came by to confiscate my gun(s), I would just hand them over. What's the point of resisting by shooting? It would just reinforce the ban on guns.

The Second Amendment does not explicitly state that all citizens are given the right to keep and bear arms. It is only interpreted that way, which is also the way I interpret it, but it can be argued that the Amendment excludes the public from that right. That is the other way to interpret it.

There is no way the government could take away our guns. Obama may have the support to try, but it couldn't get passed. Because if we had all our guns taken away, there would be major civil unrest. Also, it is a constitutional right for us to have them. So don't worry fellas, you all have nothing to fear!

Haha, it seems like forever since I've written here! But since then my dad has bought a Taurus 24/7 Pro 9mm pistol. But when we took it to the range, it seemed to have trouble locking open on the last round. (????) I'm also very excited to say I've bought an old Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket pistol! (The one I made a LEGO model of) As old as it is, I'm not sure if I want to try firing it, but maybe I can post some pictures of it next to my LEGO version! :)

In Airsoft terms I own a
TSD Well R4 MP7
H&K USP (broken, but will be fixed thanx to super glue!)

In terms of REAL guns I found two kinda rusty shotguns and a .22 rifle in our basement, which is strange since my dad told me we didn't own any guns... (!?)

And in terms of guns I've fired I've only shot
Remington .22 auto rifle
.456 bolt action

The .456 had so much kick to it that I was kind of speechless, so I didn't ask what brand the rifle was. I need to fire some pistols though, I have pretty dead aim, but I don't know of any gun ranges neer where I live, so it can be difficult to shoot without scaring the neighbors...

And because this is MOCpages, in terms of LEGO guns I've made/had
Styr AUG
IMI Desert Eagle
Luger P08
Beretta 92
H&K 416 (by far my favorite real world assault rifle)
Lee Enfeild (both of Jack Streat's versions)
Tavor TAR-21
Glock 16
M4 Carbine
and
KAC PDW (my current WIP FYI)

Anyways, nice topic! It's cool to see what others have fired/owned.

I don't own any personally, but my dad has quite a few;
a T-Bolt rifle, a couple of shotguns one of which is (in his words) "one of the first saddle guns made after World War 2", and a nickle-plated .35 revolver that he says is somewhere around a hundred years old. Oh, slightly off topic, he has two big a** bowie knifes that are absolutely wicked; there is a fine line betwee big a** knife and very small sword, and they walk that line very carefully. I swear, the blades have to be just over a foot in length.

I was going to get a Ruger rifle in the .44 caliber, but I didn't see any benefits compared to the 7.62x39 Russian cartridge. I was glad with my decision because the gun is a great driving gun for deer hunting. I was just curious, how good is the pistol?

The Ruger 44. mag is a great gun! Even though it is a single shot. I had a few problems ajusting the iron sights but it just takes practice. Personally I would recommend getting the Hunter style Ruger with the stainless steel finish, but thats just me.

First of all, the top of the Colt's magazine is a bit beaten up, so it doesn't quite hold the bullets down the way it should. Instead, they point up at a slight angle, instead of being flush with the magazine. This caused them to skip over the feed ramp and jam up against the back edge of the barrel! So, if I can find a magazine that's in better shape, it should work just fine.

The Ruger performed flawlessly, shooting some nice tight groups without a single jam.

(WOOOOOT!!!)

After that, this friend of ours let me shoot his new Taurus Judge. For those of you who don't know, the Judge is a revolver that shoots .410 shotgun shells, as well as standard .45 Colt bullets. Anyway, he let me shoot at a jug of water with a few of the hollow-pointed .45 rounds that he keeps around for "social work". The bullets left clean entry holes, but then they split the back of the jug wide open!

So, I'll be sure to write about the Colt again if I can find a better magazine, and if it still doesn't work, I think I'll give it its official retirement.

Does anybody own any real guns? I have a Remington 552 Speedmaster, which is an old (really, really old!) semiautomatic .22 rifle. Also, my dad has a .22 magnum revolver, but I'm not sure what kind it is.

No, I don't have any real guns, because I live in the Netherlands, and it's forbidden to have weapons here. :-(, but I once shut with a pistol(don't know whitch) and a fake uzi in South-Africa. I really liked that!!!

My dad just bought a Barret M80. It's surprisingly short for a Barret Model, but it has a ton of power.

i travel around the world with my family cause of my dad's job, in gabon i bought an ak47 for 15 dollars, lol, what a deal! my dad didn't let me use it till this year, but its illegal to use in alot of places, so id don't use it much, its fun but it kinda hurts your shoulder, the kick is like a kangaroo kicking you in the arm and i cant hit like anything when i use it but yo cant exactly call me a good marksman lol. my favorite guns are the AK-107, fnh mk17 cqc and hk g36, my dad allowed me to shoot it while i was in Germany at a test firing range, it had excellent accuracy and firepower in my opinion in comparison to various other guns iv tested around the world the past couple years. never tested the ak 107, it just looks cool and i hear its a good gun. the fnh mk17 WOW, great gun and when you pick it up it feels like a toy, you could throw it like a golf ball, its so light but the thing packs one heck of a punch, 40mm, not really that powerful, but certainly aint week and its got an mk13 grenade launcher on it EPIC. Who can forget teh ak47 though, in general, it probably is the best assault rifle not my fav though, AK-47 is usually just a catch-all term for 7.62x39mm Kalashnikov rifles, most so-called "AK-47s" in popular culture particularly in the united states are actually either Egyptian Maadi ARM copies of the highly improved AKM, or variants of the Chinese Norinco Type 56, they all look very similar

nice dude

Well, my father owns around 20 antique revolvers such as police positives, I own a M91/30 myself(I have to pay off a ton of money!) and my father owns around 10 WWII weapons. He also has a Remington shotgun. A .22 Lever Action. I own a .22/.20 gauge combine(I don't shoot the shotgun part because the barrels about 2 feet long and I shot it when I was 7 and it almost dislocated my shoulder... Same thing happened with my Dad. My grandfather wons a couple .22s and a .270 hunting rifle.

Today, my parents came across an old Iver Johnson revolver in my late grandfather's stuff! It's .38 caliber, double action, and has a five-shot cylinder. I won't get into ALL the details here, but I've posted a few pictures of it on my Flickr page. Be sure to take a look if you like revolvers!

Cool. If it's a 91/30 it doesn't kick all that much. I little bit more than a 20 gauge.

What do you guys think about these old Mosin-Nagant rifles selling for so little? The reason they're going so cheap is because the Russians made over 17 million of them during the second world war. So they're VERY easy to find.

I walked into a small sporting goods store today, and they had an entire crate of them right by the door! There were a few more on the gun racks further back in the store, too.

Yes, I bought one. (applause?)

The one I picked was made in 1941, and it's in pretty good shape considering its age. Of course, you still have to go through a thorough background check before you're allowed to buy one, but at least it doesn't flatten your wallet very much. I might post some pictures of it on Flickr, but it's not a very easy rifle to take pictures of, since it's so long.

What do you mean by .50? Some kick, some don't. A Kentucky Longrifle in .50 cal kicks little, but a different (also muzzleloaded) blackpowder firearm also in .50 kicks like a mule. I suppose that it depends on your definition of "kick"...I shoot 90 grains of blackpowder in my Kentucky, I can handle the recoil but my Dad is scared to fire it with that large of a load!

I meen a real 50. I meen a BARRET! muzle loaders are as much a waste of money as a bow, if not more!

Sweet man. The HK416 is my favorite too. Check out my contest entry.

Sorry, I'm calling bs on that. There's no way that you've shoulder fired an M107/M82, at least not accurately.

ok, first of all I never said I did. I was just saying what type of round, second I have had many chances to fire one, with going to the knob creek machine gun shoot and liveing in a gun twon and all, I just don't want to spend the money to rent one. third, why do you think not acuretly, I can keep a coin bouncing with a hand gun at 25yrds. there is no way you can miss with a 50. if u have a good scope.

Okay first you said: "don't talk about kick untill you fire a shoulder fired 50." Then you said, "I meen a real 50. I meen a BARRET!" Implying that you shoulder fired a Barrett sniper rifle, the most common of which (M82/M107) weighs in around 30 pounds. What I said when I meant not accurately was that you couldn't shoot accurately while firing from the shoulder/hip.

Yeah thats what I was trying to explain to him. The Kentucky Rifle is a shoulder fired .50 with ALOT of kick! And my Dad is scared to fire the Kentucky with 90 grains of powder but he will readily fire a Barrett. I always shoot 90 grains of powder in my Kentucky! I'm used to the kick!

Um, dude, how else would you shoot a barret besides shoulder. thats how you shoot a sniper rifle.
