First off, this is NOT where you vote. The voting will be done in late May to Late June. I'll be tallying the votes after Brickworld (June 18th to the 21st) and THEN I'll do the awards.
I will give instructions on how to vote sometime in May.
In the mean time, here are the categories for the 09 Mocie Awards. What I'm looking for here is Nominees. This is not your vote so you can nominate two or three people in one category if you like...
For instance: (since they won for these last year, they can't win for them this year so I'm using them as an example) In the microscale category, Shannon Young for Shannonia and Mark Kelso for The Invisible Hand. See, two nominations for two different builders and creations in the same category.
Ok, everyone clear on this? Man I hope so... here we go.
The categories for the 2009 Mocie Awards are:
Microscale: Anything smaller than minifig scale is open to nomination.
Sci-Fi: This includes Star Wars, Halo, Steam Punk, MECH, Post Apoc and just about anything else you can think of that's sci-fi.
Best Realistic vechile: Including plains, trains and automobiles and just about everything in between as long as it's based on a real world vehicle.
Castle: If you need an explination for this...
Best SigFig Episode: This does NOT just include the two famous ones making their rounds with the AFOLs. Anyone who has made a sigfig and posted it is eligible.
Funniest moc: what made you laugh out loud this year?
Best On going theme or Series: Any series of mocs or on going theme is eligible... except for Emperor Ludgonious' LIU, he won for that last year. Anything else is fair game.
Town: Again... if I have to explain this one...
Miscellaneous: Did I miss something that can't be put into one of the other categories? Put it here!
Best New Guy (or girl): Which new moccer has made the biggest impact? You decide. Anyone who joined MOCpages AFTER June 2008 (that means July 1st and on) is eligible.
Moccer of the Year: Who made the biggest impact? Who made the best "stuff"? Who do you think is THE BEST?
MOC of the year: The best moc of the year? what was it? It doesn't have to be from the best moccer. What made your jaw hit the floor? What made you think, WOW I wish I could do THAT!
Ok, that's it. Time for you to start looking! Get out there, search all the little nooks and crannies (or crooks and nannies.. either way) and find the best of the best of the past year. Then come back here and let me know. I'll tally up the most nominated MOCs and put a voting list together for May. After that, I'll put out instructions on how to vote.
(for the record, I can't vote. That wouldn't be fair. This is about what YOU think.)
BE SURE TO BE SPECIFIC ABOUT WHICH MOC YOU ARE NOMINATING AND FOR WHICH CATEGORY! Don't just put someone's name on there and expect me to pick their best creation.
Good luck everyone!
~ Chris.
